My ortho told me we could try PT but due to the damage he couldn't guarantee it would prevent what he felt was an impending full knee replacement. The staff of CPTE got me in so quickly and worked incredibly hard with me. I started with Cameron in the pool and the occasional land appointment. He was patient with me and pretended to like my corny jokes. The pool was the perfect place to start while I got some stability and strength back. Liz, Danica, Kathryn and Tess worked with me on land appointments and gently increased the difficulty. They were great motivators and always held me accountable. On top of this, literally everyone is super nice. They're relatable and easy to talk with which makes each appointment more fun. I am moving cross country in a week or else I would go as long as my insurance would let me. The best part? My ortho doctor no longer thinks I need regular cortisone shots and has taken surgery off of the table for the time being. Please do yourself a favor and choose CPTE. This practice should tell you when making an appointment that you're required to wear a mask at all times during your visit. After checking in, getting temperature taken (not told what it was) and asked if I've traveled outside of Maine, NH or VT in the last 14 days I was brought back to a room. She then asked me to keep a face mask on. I questioned why I need to wear it in the exam room (I have asthma and severe anxiety when face is covered). She said it was mandatory and would go check with Rachel (NP) to see if they would still see me. She sent Laura (office manager) in to talk about wearing the face mask in the room, said I swore at the nurse and it would be best to just go to urgent care. Extremely unprofessional. As I was leaving Dr Collins (known for 30+ years) was in the hallway and I had a brief discussion about what had just happened in his office and was there to have my ears checked. He had given me a prescription (antibiotic) in April while out of state. Ear pain is back and so am I. He could've taken me in and checked my ears. Instead, told me Rachel is still on the phone (40 minutes after 11am appointment time) and to call in if I'd like a prescription refill. I've had severe dizziness and and vertigo for 2 months, never had an ear infection and my grandfather died of brain cancer. Wow, thanks Doc.
