I go to the Midtown office of Progressive PT, on Northern Lights, and Taylor Miller is my Physical Therapist. First off, let me say how wonderful the receptionist, Donna is. When she called to schedule my appointments, she was very helpful with fitting them into my schedule, and worked with me to get them exactly right. In person, she is even nicer, and i spend time chatting with her after my sessions, if she's not got an office full of patients to deal with. I love her. This isn't the first time I've had PT for my chronic, long-term back pain. However, i did not keep up with the home exercises, and of course the pain gradually got worse again. I had my first PT sessions with a different provider. My first appointment with Taylor was more of an evaluation/examination, lot's of questions, regarding pain levels, what goals I wanted to achieve. I was initially, intimidated by Taylor. He's a very tall gentleman, and quite serious-looking. I just gave him the benefit of the doubt on this, because he's a healthcare professional, and not there to make friends with me, he just wants to fix my back (privately though, i thought to myself, "I WILL break this icy reserve") He is VERY thorough, and explains the approach we will take, both physical and in my thinking. And i can see changes already, though my treatment sessions are not yet complete. And indeed, other health issues have arisen during the course of my sessions, where Taylor has to stop me exercising, examine whatever the new issue is, and alter his approach to my treatment. I mean, i was sniveling real tears, when he examined my painful knee a couple of days ago, and because he kind of looked at me solemnly, i jumped to the conclusion that Taylor is going to announce i will need a surgery. Now I, am absolutely PETRIFIED of hospitals, surgery, even the smell of a hospital sends me into a panic. He hadn't said a word, yet I'm crying. And he says "What's wrong?" And i said "I'm not having surgery, and that's an end of it!" And he said "Who said anything about surgery? I can help you with this Wendy" And then he explained what was wrong with my knee. And today, my left lower back was hurting more than usual. He examined me, and took me into a treatment room, made me sit a certain way, did some magical lying me down move, type of chiropractor thing, just can't explain what he did, but there were a lot of crackly crunchy noises, i stood up, the pain was gone. He showed me on the computer that Maigne's Syndrome was causing referred pain, and got the model vertebrae out to show me what's going on. So, of course, we'll also be working on that now too. Taylor is thorough, and i am feeling benefits already, though i still have quite a lot of sessions to do. I couldn't stand up long enough to shower, or cook a meal. Putting socks and shoes on was difficult, and very painful, showering was difficult - i was having to use a shower stool. Walking was almost impossible. Taylor has helped me see I'm not as weak as i thought i was. He has helped me have trust in his expertise, and that he won't hurt me, by telling me to deadlift. I was scared I'd hurt my back even more by doing what he was telling me to do, and instead, I'm seeing that I'm stronger than i thought i was. I trust him implicitly with my healthcare, and i try my hardest to do the exercises he gives me. He is awesome. I recommend him 100%. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of bones, muscles and all that jazz. You will not regret going to see Taylor. 10/10. I cannot say enough good things about him. read more

Great place for healing. After twisting my knee skiing I made an appointment with Tarah. During the first session of dry needling I could see the difference. My leg which I couldn't straighten all the way, was practically straight. The exercise, and awesome treatment had me up and skiing again in a month. I highly recommend Progressive Physical Therapy. Progressive is THE place to go! I have gone to see these fine ladies with everything from a sacro-iliac joint issue that left me barely able to walk, to a bum, fluid-filled swollen knee from too much snowboarding and Crossfit- they always have me up and running at full speed again sooner than I would ever have thought possible! Phyllis and Alisa are incredibly helpful, patient and knowledgable. The rare PT who is able to explain your injuries-and the exercises to fix them- in a way that makes sense to the patient. Holly is, without doubt, the best "Office Manager" around! (Don't let her title fool you, she does so much more than that!). Simply put, these ladies are the best PT team in Alaska! Unfortunately I'm stuck out of state at the moment for school; but the body awareness, skills and exercises they have taught will certainly keep me healthier, happier- and most importantly, out doing stuff! for a long time to come. read more

Thank you Phyllis and Progressive Physical Therapy, my ankle feels great! Last spring I stepped in a pothole and severely sprained my ankle. I did the usual ice, elevation and ibuprofen, but I knew I needed to get expert help. I made an appointment with Phyllis, where she examined my ankle and prescribed specific exercises. I did these exercises, which were range of motion, balance and stretching exercises, multiple times a day and they changed weekly. It worked! I'm so glad I scheduled an appointment with Phyllis and followed her advice. I don't even think about my ankle now, it healed perfectly. read more

I first went to Progressive Physical Therapy after a car accident this Spring. I was rear-ended and suffered a neck and shoulder injury. I realized Progressive was different from my first appointment (I'm an avid athlete and have been to other PTs in the past.) I met with Phyllis Ploudre who not only listened to my complaints, but also listened to my lifestyle and devised a rehab plan that worked for me. She was also extremely easy to talk with, which I needed --- having constant neck pain can really get frustrating. My therapist "got it" and provided really helpful feedback to get me through the really tough days. She also ordered a brace and materials for me (and provided them at cost! No mark-up.) I hope NOT to be injured again...but I know if something were to happen, she would be there for me. read more

Can't imagine why my doctor would send me here. Took a day and a half to get anyone on the phone at the office, person on the other line picked up and immediately hung up once. Upon finally establishing contact the office personnel was very haughty, and the only time they could see me is two weeks from now. Completely worthless. read more
