I went yesterday to have my wisdom teeth removed. The office was busy but very efficient. The receptionist explained the cost up front to me. The doctor and the nurses were very nice. The doctor explained everything to me before he did anything. I chose the IV sedation. The last thing I remember is the doctor asking me if I could feel the medicine working and then the next thing I knew, I woke up in a room with my mom next to me. I highly recommend this office. I am a baby with this stuff and it went very well. I forgot to ask for a note for work while I was there and I called the next day and they emailed me an excuse letter in 5 minutes. my mom forced me to get surgery and it hurt so much. i told her that i wanted to be put to sleep and the doctors just injected drugs into my blood and i had a headache instead. i hated it and i was vomiting blood like crazy in the office and at home. the short chubby lady worker was rude to me and told me to sit back down as i needed to vomit in a bucket and stand properly when i couldn't keep my balance at all. i hope my mom dies so she doesn't send me to this madhouse again. i hate her too read more

I recently had 2 wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Rastegar and I cannot say enough on how awesome my experience was! First off, the office is beautifully decorated and clean! The receptionist behind the desk were helpful and so friendly! My wife did extraction and bone graft there. The dentist is nice and professional. Due to wrong insurance claim filing, the claim was refused. A year passed without any notice from their side about that till we received a call from collection agency that we have a bill for the clinic. This was hands down my best dental experience to date! The office staff were friendly and patient, and the office was immaculately clean. The nurse who brought me back for my wisdom teeth removal (all four) was the same nurse who stayed with me through the consult, extraction, and recovery. Dr. Lee was extremely friendly and informative. He was able to remove all four wisdoms teeth without needing to stitch the wounds, and I have no swelling or pain post op. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was shown my x-ray on the same television that I was able to pick a show on Netflix to watch before and during the procedure. Recovery was quick and well monitored, and I was sent home with instructions, prescriptions, and gauze. I have been here once before to bring my cousin for a wisdom tooth exo, but today i came with my best friend as support bc she needed something to get checked out. Her appt was at 9 we got there a few minutes prior Bring quarters because there is meter parking only!! Office waiting area has about 10 chairs which all started to get filled up. I had a horrible experience dentist pezzollo is a disaster of a dentist. doesn't stand behind his office employees say something and he says it's wrong and handling was like 2 year old. doesnt have bed side manner at all or his patients. have proof of all that was said and could supply if you need to see your partner ruins your name for the other dentist in this group . cares nothing about patients pain and suffering all he cared was about money that is no problem but his office said one thing after driving an hour and was hit with a fee from 200 deductible to 800. as you are suffering. made the appointment the day before gave all my insurance information and was told it was accepted and Givin group ID and member number and was all was told if anything different I would get a call back . I did get a confirmation witch I confirmed. Sarah the office manager is just like here boss sorry to bad was there response in so many words . unbelievable would never recommend progressive oral surgery in Nassau County. I have 6 kids and 5 brother and sisters . also on pta and community board . all I do is tell the truth and it's sad that to take care of a patient after what your office had said and was told to bad . lol they must be desperate for the difference of 400 dollars I left in pain and hour drive . My husband was sent there as an emergency. Had an infected tooth that needed to be pulled. Was told to come in at 1:30. When he told them he was in agony he was told I'm sorry you have to fill out the paperwork, I'm sorry we are waiting for a room but kept taking other patients in who were clearly not in the pain he was. Front desk showed 0 compassion. Dr and nurse were wonderful. When he said something about the wait was told they don't know who's lying and not. I was told that people waited 3 months for their appointment. But this was a true emergency and to see someone in that much pain and let them sit 1.5 hours in the waiting room was inhumane. read more

If you have time on your hands, I guess this place will do. I arrived early for my appointment, but still sat and waited for over an hour. When I mentioned patients arriving after me going in before me, I was told that their cases were quicker. It didn't matter that I was in pain, scheduled for surgery, and had an appointment. As for aesthetics, this location is basic, tidy, but very cramped. I only saw one dentist and several receptionists/assistants. Most were friendly, but one at the front desk -not very. Most importantly, the dentist was kind, professional, experienced and very quick. Still, I don't plan on returning because of my overall experience. I was referred to Dr. Rastegar by my dentist. I had 4 wisdom teeth that needed to be pulled, 2 were badly impacted. I've been avoiding this for YEARS. I hateeeeee anything that involves tools and teeth at the same time! Scheduling was easy, I spoke with one of the girls there and expressed how uneasy I felt. She was sweet enough to kind of calm me and listen to me express my anxiety (thank you).. 2 weeks later, the big day came. Dr. Rastegar and his assistant were very kind and friendly and as nervous as I was, I felt calm.. Dr. R assured me it will be easy and not as bad as I thought. I was put under anesthesia, upon waking up - I did not feel a thing, everything was numb lol.. The procedure took no more than 20-30 minutes. I was in at 10:30 am and was HOME by noon the latest. I didn't bleed as much as I thought I would, to my surprise my face was BARELY swollen.. Once the anesthesia wore off, I didn't feel the stitches and I was able to drink and have soup that night, a day later I was even able to eat really soft foods and have ice cream :) with very little discomfort (MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS AND TAKE THE MEDS AS INSTRUCTED). In about a week, I was better than ever. I wasn't eating a burger or steaks yet- which nobody should for at least 2 weeks.. But for someone who had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time, Dr. R truly made it a breeze. I couldn't be more happy with the results and the ease of the process before and after the surgery. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rastegar and his team. read more

Dr.Lee is by far the best surgeon hands down. For somebody who has a phobia of all things dental and surgical related, Dr.Lee has always gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Just recently I had 6 teeth extracted by Dr.Lee and although I was being difficult by crying the second the IV was inserted in me because of my fear of needles, next thing I know, I was awake with 6 less teeth. I am now 3 days post extraction and I definitely feel uncomfortable because I'm a little grossed out at the fact that I have holes in my mouth where my premolars used to be but there is NO PAIN AT ALL. I took one Advil post extraction just to be safe but there has been no pain at all! The Great Neck Office definitely made me feel more comfortable as the office is very modern but if you need extractions, get them done with Dr.Lee! read more

My husband had root canal elsewhere and subsequently had to come to Dr. Rastegar to have it fixed shortly after. He ended up having an Apico. The office and staff are the most hospitable and warm and welcoming. Ilyssa, his assistant, calmed him, made him know that everything was going to be ok. Both Dr. Rastegar and Ilyssa, made what was potentially very stressful very easy on us. They were extremely caring during the post op period~ and really worked with us on time slots and fitting us in as my husbands schedule is not easy. Front desk Victoria, had us in and out. I dont usually write reviews but i feel the need to share. After searching days for a place that would accommodate my last min request to have my wisdom tooth extracted i finally came upon this place. Over the phone the ladies were very nice and they had no same day appointments but told me to come in anyway since i was in pain and informed me that i may have a wait. When i got there i waited no longer than 20 mins. All of the ladies at the front desk were pleasant. I was VERY anxious and disappointed when i was told I couldn't be put to sleep( i actually cried a little bit lol. But it was my own fault because i ate) the young lady at the front desk reassured me and shared her own story with me when she got hers pulled. Assistant Allison (i think that was her name) that was in the room with me was AMAZING she was comforting me while doing her job of assisting. Honestly the needle wasnt that bad at all. And i was confused when they started taking off my bib. Had no clue the tooth was out already. So all in all it was a great experience given all of my anxiety. Highly recommended. Setting an appointment was nice I had no problem . Oh shocks I arrived to this location finding it's a coin parking. Between mom and me we had 2 quarters for 30 minute parking. I hurry in and ask for some quarters for a dollar but I was told they have no change. I couldn't believe it!!! I was called in within 15 minutes or so, The doctors assistant was super nice and super accommodating and trying to help relax me because I was super nervous that I am here for an impacted wisdom tooth. (and I am concerned about my parked car in the front). The doctor came in and he was super nice as well and said that I don't have to worry about anything that before I know it I would be in asleep that I would not feel anything. When the doctor left the room for a minute, I went to the front to see mom but she was already outside by the car. When I try to talk to the front desk that i should have advised to bring quarters the girl was argumentative saying there is a such store in the corner and there is another store in the other corner blah blah blah. I simply told her it would've been nice to advise me and advise other clients to bring quarters for meter parking. WOW the attitudes I have more to say will add little later, good things! He's the sixth doctor that I've seen to help diagnose my painful issue in my mouth, and the first to actually do something about it. I returned for a second visit this week for a biopsy. I was scared for the results and for the procedure, but Dr. Rastegar and his staff (especially Melissa) helped me feel safe and relaxed. The whole procedure was quick, relatively painless and clean! I was very nervous to get my 4 wisdom teeth (two of which were impacted) extracted at the same time. Dr. Rastegar was highly recommended to me by my orthodontist Dr. Kalimian and he was amazing! I had a tooth extraction by Dr. Rodney Rastegar. He did not review anything post surgery care. Did not start antibiotic,after one week I got severe pain,swelling,I end up in ER, did follow up with Dr. Rastegar, he didn't want to listen to me, when I say pain and numbness. He seems don't want to deal with complication. I gave my insurance paper work ,he is not giving them adequate information. I ask him to give me more antibiotics,he refused. After one week I developed severe infection in my jaw, he gave me only 7 days antibiotic and don't want to do follow up.He didn't review my medical history (I am diabetic).He has no regards to the patients opinion and suffering.He is out of touch with his patients suffering.I was crying with pain.I am a nurse. read more

This is the worst most unprofessional place. I came in on Sat as an emergency from my primary dentist. The office accepted my appointment for a tooth extration. From the moment I arrived i made it clear that because of my anxiety i would need to be sedated. Even when i meet Dr Lee to be given a shot for the pain I expressed the need to be sedated. The whole 3 hours i waited. The staff keep complaining about wanting to leave early and why were more patients being told to come. The office closes on Sat at 2pm but i guess the front desk girls run the show and determine what hours work for them. When i finally got called in for my procedure Dr Lee told me that because the girls want to go home he cannot do a sedation procedure. When i insisted he and that nast front desk lady said that cant get ahold of my insurance so i needed to pay 600 upfront. Or come back Monday. I was so disgusted with them that I got up and walked out. It was noon by that time. I had not eaten and went to the trouble of getting a ride. They didnt care at all. I told my primary dentist and he was shock. He said he will not refer to them again. Things work out for the best because i found Plainview & Massapequa Oral and Implant Surgery. Dr Bass and the entire office staff are amazing. So professional and compassionate. If you need an oral surgeon i highly recommend this practice. This place has gone down drastically. The front desk receptionist are rude and unprofessional. You just don't feel that you're in a friendly environment. Dr Rastegar seemed nice along with his assistant a very nice female. However after my procedure the Dr walked out and his assistant advised me that my prescriptions would be called in to my home pharmacy. When I arrived at the pharmacy no medication. When I called the office to find out why my prescription hadn't been called in they said the Dr wasn't going to prescribe me anything "the receptionist" I said that's not what his assistant said, plus I just had 3 teeth pulled including an impacted wisdom tooth. So how would there be nothing prescribed? After placing me on a 30 minute hold the receptionist returned to the phone and said the Dr would call in a prescription for me. When I got home to review my post op care sheet I saw that they also didn't sign the paperwork nor did they give me a post op appointment. I will not be returning here. I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and went to Progressive Oral Surgery. I have to say the staff at all of their locations are amazing! I had to reschedule about three times and they were so convenient, patient, and kind! The fact that they have a few different locations made it easier to work with my crazy schedule and they always had something available! I finally got my wisdom teeth pulled in Great Neck by Dr. Panagos and his assistant Ilyssa. They were both kind and understanding...I was so nervous. They made sure I was comfortable before and after the oral surgery. Ilyssa took great care of me after my surgery, from coming off the anesthesia I don't remember much but apparently she had me dancing. I totally recommend going to progressive oral care! I did not have one bad experience at all and I am terrified when it comes to the dentist and oral surgery. read more

I'm not one to always write a review but I feel compelled to do so given the quite traumatic experience (at least in my opinion) I went through. Upon visiting my regular dentist he advised I had an infection and needed a retreat of a tooth that had a previous root canal. My dentist would only recommend one Endodontist and one Oral Surgeon both of which are located in Manhattan. On a hunt for a second opinion and reputable board certified doctor I stumbled upon this practice. Dr. Rastegar was a consummate professional as was his staff during the entire procedure. He was honest with his opinion (thought best to move forward with extracting the tooth rather than a retreat due to the low succession rate). When I asked if I needed an implant, he was HONEST and told me that due to the location (back molar) and having all my wisdom teeth still in place there should not be a shift and it was not absolutely necessary. He did not try and push bone grafting or an implant on me at all. He did not try and find a million other things wrong he could fix and after having my dentist tell me numerous times I needed my wisdom teeth extracted, he told me I wasn't even a candidate due to where they sat in regards to the nerve running along the bottom of my mouth. The extraction was flawless. I had no stitches (was a simple extraction), no pain, no complications post surgery and since I opted for the IV sedation, no discomfort AT ALL during the actual procedure which I can barely remember. I called multiple times after the extraction (once after hours and once to come in) because I was nervous as to how I was healing and had a million questions. The staff at the front desk was always timely, professional and most of all helpful. Dr. Rastegar always made sure my questions were answered and even took my call after hours at 9pm in the evening.
