From the beginning I have had great experiences with Jamey in establishing a policy for my home and car. She has always been quick to respond when I have had a question or an issue that needs attention. After taking my vehicle to the shop where they found rodent damage the shop suggested I contact my insurance to see if it was covered under my comprehensive coverage. Not only did Jamey immediately jump on the issue so did Deanna. They worked with me to make sure that everything was covered even when there were some snags and issues on the assessor side of things. Deanna worked her ass off for me making sure I was taken care of correctly. Even the shop manager was impressed with her efforts and the great attitude throughout the entire process. Nationwide of Monroe, WA. is beyond horrible. I was with them since 2008. I had 2 homes, 4 cars and…read morea travel trailer insured with them. Their customer service was bad at the start. It took this agency 3 yrs. to put together a policy for Long Term Health Care (2020) and when they finally got us to sign off on the policy in 2023, the agency switched the policy to a different policy without notification. I removed my 4 autos (2023) to a competitor for a better rate, immediately the customer service began to become more horrible. In 2023, this agency was left with just my 2 homes & trailer for coverage. They increased my homers ins. (2025), as they stated since I wasn't bungling my assets anymore, was the reason for the increase in homers insurance. So, I removed my 2 homes & trailer to a competitor. Now, all they had left was the Long Term Health Care coverage (LTHC). This is the policy that the agency changed on us without notification to a Life Insurance policy that had a clause that stated " Second Death" in it. I later learned what this term meant. It states that Nationwide wouldn't preform a payout on the policy until both myself and wife were deceased. Then a payout would be distributed to the beneficiaries. We had no idea that this type of policy existed and the policy didn't contain/include a refund. We attempted to cancel this policy 3 months ago upon learning about this Second Death clause (2 yrs later) and the agency literally dragged their feet in allowing us to cancel. No return phones calls, no email responses and to make matters worse, my phone calls were being transferred to one of their offices 100 miles away to another city. Finally, I get a letter from Nationwide declaring that the LTHC/Life Insurance policy had lapsed (9/2025). I believe that having the policy lapse was a strategy of Nationwide, so they wouldn't have to pay a refund. I wouldn't recommend Nationwide to anyone. Awful, horrible and deplorable customer service.

They continually sent important information to my old address! After being with another company for over 6 months I get a letter from a collection agency!! Saying I owed money. They sure didn't have a problem getting that letter to my new address!!! I called Nationwide and they could not explain why I owed the money nor would they waive the bill!! And also informed me I could not pay it through them I had to deal with the collection agency. So to protect my credit rating I caved in and called the agency to pay the bill. The agency wanted to charge me $9.99 cents more just to pay the bill!!!!! I am not going to pay money to pay a bill!!! After doing some checking, this is NOT a collection agency at all, it is a separate division of Nationwide using a different name. So all in all nationwide is a money hungry corporation and a complete rip off! Don't trust a company that will rip you off because when you need them, they wont be there unless you want to pay more!
