I would give MORE THAN 5 stars! If you're looking for a…read morepositive TSA pre-check experience, I highly recommend the Staples location in Chestnut Hill. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a team of friendly experts who truly understood the urgency of my situation. Despite the store being genuinely busy with a line of people, the staff maintained an exceptional level of service. They were caring and attentive, never dismissive, which made all the difference. I was pleasantly surprised to be out in just 30 minutes, even though I anticipated a much longer wait. Special thanks to the manager and the associate at the TSA pre-check station for their professionalism and kindness. Their dedication to customer service is commendable, and it was evident that they genuinely care about their customers. Erin also deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service. This location sets a high standard for what customer service should be. I left feeling valued and appreciated, and I can't thank them enough for turning what could have been a frustrating experience into a delightful one especially after loosing a day since I was turned away at the other staples.

When I first came in, he didn't even make eye contact with me. He just said, "Printing or pickup?" I said, "Hi, I'm trying to print out cards. I'm not sure of the procedure, so I'm asking how I can do that." He responded very briefly and abruptly, saying something like "printme@staples.com," but he said it so fast that I couldn't catch it. I said, "Wait, excuse me, is that the email?" and he kept sitting down and ignoring me. Moments later, a white lady came in, and his whole attitude changed. He smiled at her, greeted her politely, made eye contact, and asked, "Hi, are you picking up or printing?" in a very respectful tone. He even joked with her. Meanwhile, I was still standing there for 10-15 minutes, trying to understand why he wasn't answering my questions and why he was ignoring me. I asked how long it would take and if I could see the print. He said it was already sent and that I would get a text message from an 800 number when it was ready. I said okay and left, but I was still irritated because he was very nasty and disrespectful. The next day, I came back to pick up my cards, and to my surprise, everything was illegible. You could not read the words at all except "Loyalty Card" at the top. I pulled another customer to the side and asked, "Can you read this?" because Chris was arguing with me, saying, "Yes, you can read that." The customer squinted and said, "No, I cannot read that. I can only guess based on what I heard you say." So clearly, the text was not readable. Chris continued to argue with me about it. At that point, I was very upset. He said he could give me a refund, but I explained that I needed these cards that same day. Then he said he couldn't refund me because of an issue with my card. I told him, "You know what, just give me the cards at this point," even though they were unusable. This whole experience felt racist, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional.

I wanted to get something very elegant and fancy and in that respect, the Paperia delivered. However, even though two women were behind the counter doing naught but talking with each other, I was not greeted with so much as a "hi" "let alone a warm "hello" or "good morning." As I went around the store, no one offered any assistance or asked if they could help me find something. Then, when I approached the counter with my card (a little embellished number that cost $6.50), still the sales associate, or maybe manager, just scanned my item and told me the total, STILL without greeting me! It's not like I'm asking for a hug and a kiss when I walk into a store, but you need to acknowledge my presence, as well as the other customers. I guess I should have just gone to Walgreen's or something, where at least the crappy, apathetic service is matched by low prices and convenience.

It screams 'quaint and dignified' on the outside the way many Chestnut Hill stores do. I come here to buy greeting cards for any occasion and also for their abundant supply of thank-you-note stationery. There are plenty of handmade, artistic cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions that you don't find at other card stores. Despite the store's staid exterior, they actually *do* carry your regular humorous "ha ha, you're getting old" birthday cards along with the unique ones. They've got a decent selection of birthday and blank cards but when it comes to more 'minor' holidays like Mothers Day or Fathers Day, the selection is just so-so. The back room is devoted to custom-made and thank-you-note paper and cards, of which there are many. They're not cheap but the products are definitely high quality. The ladies who work there are usually nice and helpful, assisting you in finding something. You don't find many non-chain, local card stores these days anymore so I like to support Paperia for a cozier, more pleasant card-shopping experience than going to your run-of-the-mill Hallmark.
