I am coming to the Lynbrook location for my 2nd time now. A couple of years back I was here for 9…read moremonths for left shoulder rotator cuff surgery. At that time I was assigned to a George who has left to work in Brooklyn closer to his home. He was a great guy and very accommodating. During that time, I had worked with alternative Physical Therapists when George wasn't there. There names are Mitch and Brian. Over time, I developed relationships with these three and only made appointments around their schedule. On Feb 1st, 2016, I had rotator cuff surgery with tenodesis on my right shoulder. I made all appointments with Brian and Mitch. At this point, I will not work with anyone else. If they are not there when I arrive, I will usually re schedule the appointment. I have underlying problems which account for slower healing in my body and there are times I come to therapy without the energy or motivation to perform the exercises. Brian and Mitch are both understanding, accommodating and very flexible. Everyone's body is different and they work with any problems that arise. I was in the hospital for 15 days in May and when I was discharged, I didn't start up therapy for over a month causing extreme setback on my shoulder. Brian and Mitch didn't make a big deal about, they are still proactively trying to get my shoulder back to normal health. I am still currently under their care until my shoulder meets MMI. In the event I need therapy later on, They are the only Therapists I will go to. I highly recommend this location. The cons about this location: Parking is limited, they have a small lot. Come early for your appointment if you have trouble walking, and need a spot in the lot. Sometimes I come a half hour early just to wait for a spot. Because some therapists are very popular, It can be hard to book appointments to your life style because they are so busy. I recommend booking several weeks in advance so you will get the time you want. Don't only rely on the front desk girls to tell you there is nothing available, talk to your therapist and see if they can squeeze you into their schedule. Most of them are flexible and accommodating. If you are a Workers Compensation case, There is always confusion between a doctors prescription and an MG2 approval from the insurance carrier. They are 2 different things and need to be updated periodically. My suggestion to you is make sure you do not miss any therapy sessions or receive a call from Peak not to come in because they haven't received new approval. Do not rely on your doctor or peak to Get this required approval to continue therapy. It is your job to be proactive and follow up with your doctor, peak performance and your attorney to expedite this information. Remember, The insurance carrier does not work or care about you. They only want to save money. Your attorney is there to advocate for you to get you the treatments you need.

As a first time patient at this center, I was excited to start my journey to recovery with a place…read morerecommended by an in-home therapist who claimed having a good experience here. But the front desk experience this morning was the worse I've ever encountered in a care setting. To start my morning, I arrived at the center and approached the front desk to checkin only to find a staff sitting on the phone with her head down transcribing notes. Naturally, I stood quietly (in pain and using a walker) allowing her a few minutes to finish up what she was doing and to at least look up to acknowledge me standing there as I awaited verbal instructions on what I should be doing to prepare for my session. Those minutes turned into 7 minutes after which the person accompanying me to the visit, who'd taken a seat in the waiting area called over to me to ask was anyone at the desk to assist me. I told her someone was there on the phone. Upon me saying that, the person at the desk looks up to tell me "I am checking the voicemails". I said okay and proceeded to wait longer. I happen to look over to see a tablet on the counter to check in, not knowing if I should be using it or not as a new patient, and with no instruction I began using the tablet. When I came upon payment and billing, I opted to speak with the front desk because I had questions. While the staff was still on the phone and more time is passing with me still standing there to get some kind of assistance, she looks up to tell me I could just make payment on the tablet. I informed her that I was exercising the option given to take care of this with the front desk because I had questions. She grew frustrated, still insisting that I make payment on the tablet. I informed her that there was an option given to take care of this with the front desk for a reason and she is not acknowledging this option. She then snatches down the tablet demands my card and enters it herself at the desk. I informed her that it's not my fault this option exists and she should take that up with her manager. She then tells me that "she is the manager". Then she proceeded to say that she didn't need this at 7am in the morning and slammed the tablet on the counter in front of me. As I then found it my cue to walk away to have a seat next to my companion, I informed her that it was her job to show up, provide good customer service and acknowledge any patient who encounters her front desk appropriately. Especially since I looked over to see my name written at the very top of the standing easel board welcoming new patients! This experience continued as she called me back, after I sat down, to give her my ID and insurance card. Her behavior continued to grow so rudely, that my companion had to leave the center because she couldn't take seeing this behavior any longer and encouraged me to find somewhere else for service. After feeling like I was a complete inconvenience to her morning and now sensing a bit of racism for her behavior towards me, that I opted for a refund to the copayment I'd just made and informed her that I wouldn't be accepting services at this center. That staff member, claiming to be the manager, is named Lisaveta Beharry. I would encourage the corporate team or manager of her to review the front desk camera footage to validate this encounter. This is not good business for the center.

He possesses a level of humanity and humility that is rare among medical professionals. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and perceptive in understanding the concerns of his patients. Dr. Milchteim's passion for his craft and commitment to his patients is refreshing, especially when compared with other medical professionals who have become jaded. As a surgeon, he is meticulous, thorough and highly skilled. He operated on my left shoulder in January 2015 and it is amazing how much better my shoulder feels in the short time following. My boyfriend suffered serious injuries to both shoulders last year and Dr. Milchteim has since successfully operated on both, giving him back the hope/motivation he had lost. In my opinion, Dr. Milchteim is unequivocally a phenomenal surgeon, a shining star among medical professionals and a great human being. He has set the bar very high for his cohorts. Anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon would be lucky to have Dr. Milchteim as their doctor.

I have seen many other doctors regarding my knee trouble over the past 10 years and not one communicated with me as well as he does. Even more importantly, he explained my options for fixing the problem and was very honest about expectations, and that often a nonsurgical treatment is best, but in my case I had tried everything and my knee was no good. I felt confident having surgery with him because he works for a great group and trained with a world renowned expert in sports medicine. I am back to playing squash and tennis now, and will put dr Milchteim on my holiday card list forever, because he really helped me.
