Dr. Munn recognized that my clinical presentation didn't reflect the severity of the pain I was actually experiencing. I've been in pain management for 19 years due to a spinal injury, so I know what significant pain feels like. My knee pain had become so severe that it was breaking through the medication I take for my spinal injury. He understood that if I was reporting pain, it was significant. He recommended a total knee replacement and advised me to have a stationary bike at home before surgery to help with my recovery. To put things in perspective, I was a 10,000-steps-a-day kind of girl! But the pain in my knee had severely limited my ability to walk and enjoy everyday life. I'll be honest: the first four to six days after surgery were rough. But after that, my recovery went remarkably well, with very little pain. With the help of Premiere PT in Bay Shore, I achieved full range of motion within four to eight weeks. Now, four months after surgery, I am pain-free in my knee and living my best life! Despite the ongoing head, neck, shoulder, and upper back pain from my accident, I can now walk five miles in a couple of hours, taking a 15-minute break along the way. My knee feels fantastic! Dr. Munn was genuinely concerned about how miserable I had become because of my knee pain. I will always be grateful that he recognized what I was going through, listened to me, and helped me get my ability to walk back. Sorry if I rambled here:…read more Okay, there are two types of people that do physical therapy.  Ones who want constant attention and those that just get to it.  I'm not judging you if you're the former, but this place may not be for you. You're doing the same exercises each visit (with additions as you progress), so I just jump into it.   I chat with the physical therapists while I'm doing it to keep my mind off how crappy I feel and I'm out in a little over an hour. The therapists are very nice and warm people.  Who seem genuinely concerned with how you're doing.  I primarily worked with Chris amd Dore.  Dore is great and the leader of all of them, while Chris is a therapist that's almost too nice (not complaining though)! For those that want the attention paid directly on them at all times I would recommend either weekday evenings or weekend appointments.  Weekdays 12:30-4:00pm can get quite busy. I definitely recommend this place and have seen steady improvements from coming here.  Amd this comes from a person who was skeptical about physical therapy. The doctors wanted me to put her in hospice and discontinue her medications. The doctors from south Nassau hospital told me she would never walk again and will not have the will to live and die. This did not happen! Rockville skilled nursing got her walking again they had her doing physical therapy and occupational therapy every day. They had her going to daily activities for socialization. The nurses and aides are wonderful and caring. They took extremely good care of her. The social worker Linda and Nurse supervisor Kristan are hands on and know every patient in the rehab.
