I am coming to the Lynbrook location for my 2nd time now. A couple of years back I was here for 9 months for left shoulder rotator cuff surgery. At that time I was assigned to a George who has left to work in Brooklyn closer to his home. He was a great guy and very accommodating. During that time, I had worked with alternative Physical Therapists when George wasn't there. There names are Mitch and Brian. Over time, I developed relationships with these three and only made appointments around their schedule. On Feb 1st, 2016, I had rotator cuff surgery with tenodesis on my right shoulder. I made all appointments with Brian and Mitch. At this point, I will not work with anyone else. If they are not there when I arrive, I will usually re schedule the appointment. I have underlying problems which account for slower healing in my body and there are times I come to therapy without the energy or motivation to perform the exercises. Brian and Mitch are both understanding, accommodating and very flexible. Everyone's body is different and they work with any problems that arise. I was in the hospital for 15 days in May and when I was discharged, I didn't start up therapy for over a month causing extreme setback on my shoulder. Brian and Mitch didn't make a big deal about, they are still proactively trying to get my shoulder back to normal health. I am still currently under their care until my shoulder meets MMI. In the event I need therapy later on, They are the only Therapists I will go to. I highly recommend this location. The cons about this location: Parking is limited, they have a small lot. Come early for your appointment if you have trouble walking, and need a spot in the lot. Sometimes I come a half hour early just to wait for a spot. Because some therapists are very popular, It can be hard to book appointments to your life style because they are so busy. I recommend booking several weeks in advance so you will get the time you want. Don't only rely on the front desk girls to tell you there is nothing available, talk to your therapist and see if they can squeeze you into their schedule. Most of them are flexible and accommodating. If you are a Workers Compensation case, There is always confusion between a doctors prescription and an MG2 approval from the insurance carrier. They are 2 different things and need to be updated periodically. My suggestion to you is make sure you do not miss any therapy sessions or receive a call from Peak not to come in because they haven't received new approval. Do not rely on your doctor or peak to Get this required approval to continue therapy. It is your job to be proactive and follow up with your doctor, peak performance and your attorney to expedite this information. Remember, The insurance carrier does not work or care about you. They only want to save money. Your attorney is there to advocate for you to get you the treatments you need. read more

I highly recommend Ivy rehab for all your physical therapy needs. From when I started my therapy journey in Aug of 2024 to my last day today10/8/25. I felt welcome to a professional establishment. Starting front desk Lisa. I initially had a few different physical therapist and did the aqua therapy also great help in the beginning, but eventually landed with John Panaro and his rehab aid Nick "professional excellence". Others that were really good: Tom, Alyssa to name a few.The rest of physical therapy was working with a professional that cared and listen didn't miss a beat and work with me tailoring has my rehab needs changed. Every visit I came to look forward to I went from my arm could barely move with calcified tendonitis to full mobility. Grateful to have done my physical therapy here. This place was much better when it used to be Peak Performance for physical therapy. The therapists hardly spend time with you and leave all the effort to a college intern who does not explain how to do the exercises properly. When the therapist did a consult he expressed concern about me having diabetes based on touching my toes. I went for a physical , no where near having diabetes. Maybe he should have focused on me getting therapy for my ankle. One out of 3 front desk people is friendly but that person didn't know much either. First visit I knew I had a co pay for my visits . Receptionist insists no. This went on for about three weeks. I called my insurance, they said I did, then I get stuck with a big charge. The billing is also off because when you think you are paying a co pay for a specfic visit you are not. Really screwed up. I see they learned nothing from prior reviewer in 2023. read more

This place is terrible. The staff seem miserable, they barely even touch you and just bark exercises at you. Half the time they don't even correct you when you're doing something incorrectly because they have so many patients at once. They gave me the same exercises to do in the pool as a woman who was 60 years older (and 60 pounds heavier) than me. I'm not a doctor but that just doesn't seem right to me. I left here and continued my therapy at professional PT, where I got much better results. read more

I canceled an appointment being I felt light headed and wasn't going to chance driving. I was told there was a cancelation fee. I called today to inquire about the fee and was told it's $25!! That's MORE than my co-pay. I guess one can't ever get sick because if they do it will cost $25 because you don't want to get anyone ill. I've never gone to a PT place with this policy and canceled all my appointments. I will go to a facility that doesn't have this policy. My physical therapist was great but the policy of this place stinks!! It's difficult doing exercises with a mask on. I did not see things being disinfected prior to my use. Only the tables were wiped down I recommend if you need physical therapy and feel you might awaken not feeling good and have to cancel, be it known you will be hit with a $25 cancelation fee in addition to your co-pay. There are many great physical therapy places that don't have this stupid policy. read more

This is the best physical therapy institution I know. Unfortunately, I have been to a few. I have had back, neck, right shoulder and left knee surgery so far. Going for surgery on my left shoulder next, I would not go any place other than Peak Performance. They not only saved my life through multiple surgeries, but they did it with empathy, class and professionalism. I have worked with a few different therapists due to my several surgeries and they are all wonderful. I was there first in 2010 and most of the therapists that were there then are still there, that definitely makes a statement. Thank you Peak Performance for always helping me with my recoveries. worst therapy place of all time I went there cause I have a comp case I was hurt on job I went there June 14 to be evaluated and they said after the evaluation that I need a confirmation for the therapy I had to wait up to 2 weeks for the authorization I never heard from them it has been 3 weeks so I called my Doctor to see if the therapy contacted them my doctor said you don't need authorization it's a NY state law you get it asap cause by the way it's a comp case after I finally settled this with them they wait till my appointment and tell me they can't see me cause the prescription my doctor wrote on June 3 was expired they Knew for 2 days I was going so why didn't they tell me than so I could have gotten a new prescription bottom line there is a lot more to say but no time Never got treated by them and they have no idea on the front counter about their job Horrible place will never go there again Evaluation was enough I evaluated them know My evaluation is they are terrible terrible No communication with there customer at all read more

This place is horrible let's start with the staff first who are always miserable I have never seen a group of so call professionals who are so darn miserable besides the fact they won't touch leave you to work on your own while they group together together and laugh and talk to one another instead of the patients . If you are a person of a certain ethnic background you definitely can forget about getting the care that you deserve. Now let's talk about billing you better double check your statements it's day it's a different charge for the same treatment you supposed to be getting every time you go. And trust me you will be doing their job to correct anything dealing with billing. Overall the place is horrible, the staff is horrible (Not All ) but the vast majority and don't you dare complain to who ? Who runs the place you can never get a clear answer on anything Just cold spineless individuals who come into work everyday and do nothing but spread their hate around and have their little flunkys doing their dirty work . Maybe if their was some real supervision their it might be a tad bit better clean house and get rid of the trash and just maybe it would improve I doubt it cause this nonsense didn't just start . I went to these guys for some physiological testing. We had a miss queue on the testing so I'm not saying these guys are perfect. But then who is? What I am saying is they jumped to hoops to get things back on track and my work with them was great. They focused on my needs and desires and got me the physical testing I needed to improve my life! I noticed a number of reviews complained about rotating staff and cancellation charges. They are apparently not in touch with health care today. This is a big operation with all kinds of specialized equipment and can do all kinds of magical things. If you want great resources at reasonable prices you have to keep your appointments and not waste their time. I love the guys and will be back in 6 months for followup testing. PS: I'm self pay, so its my own dollars being spent, not insurance company dollars. read more

Peak Performance is a great place for therapy . I had surgery to both knees prior to coming to peak performance which I barely made it off table exercise at another therapy place. . I'm so sorry I didn't come to peak performance for that surgery. By my second and third surgery I ran to peak performance in lynbrook. I been going to the lynbrook location now for a couple of weeks. This place is not what it used to be. Pool is dirty with things floating in it at times and certain front desk staff members are nasty not friendly. Pool has been freezing cold twice in my time of attending. They say the temperature was not set properly those times. One positive thing I must say is Joe and Monica are 2 of the pool assistants who really did work well with me. When they were on duty the pool was kept clean. Not with the others. read more

Christine B. was lucky. She got to work with "Joe, the owner." My wife and I were unable to reach him by phone and he did not return either of our emails. This was after the people at the front desk misled us on the cost of my wife's therapy for sciatica. They also told us she must not miss a session. But when there was no therapist available during Christmas vacation they said it was fine to skip a couple of weeks and complete her sessions in the new year. This meant having to restart paying off our insurance deductible which we would not have had to do if Peak had followed their own "don't skip a session" rule. It seems the rule only counts when it suits them. I wish we could have discussed our disappointment with Joe or with anyone else in authority who would listen. I hope we don't need P.T. again but one thing's for sure, if we do need it, it won't be at Peak Therapy in Lynbrook. read more

This place is amazing. With a history of hip injuries and surgeries, I have been to at least 4 or 5 different PT places in New York and Washington, DC over the last four years. Hands down, this facility was the best. I started at Peak Performance in September 2013 following a hip arthroscopy (I had labral tearing due to FAI). It's not the most common of orthopedic surgeries but I was fortunate as Joe, the owner, is a hip specialist and well versed in arthroscopic procedures. I worked with him and Erica during a difficult and long recovery. They understand everything from the exercises themselves to passive movement and scar tissue massage. If you have to get a hip arthroscopy, go to them; quite simply, they get it. And they're not afraid to interact with your surgeon to improve your care. What's more is that they helped me to stay positive -- Joe has a great sense of humor and Erica is wonderfully encouraging. Aside from the people, this facility stands out due to the space itself. Other PT places I have been to have been small, dark, and low on equipment -- but Peak Performance is large, light, and airy, and has all of the latest technology. They even have a pool for aquatic therapy! In the pool, I worked with Omer and couldn't have asked for a better therapist. The staff at this location are extremely professional and you never have to wait around. I would recommend them to any family member or friend. read more

I have used Peak Performance (Lynbrook) five times in the past 12 years for a few different orthopedic problems involving my arms, lower back and leg and would not consider going anywhere else. The facility is clean, equipped for everything including aquatic therapy, and more importantly, staffed by an excellent, friendly staff from the front desk to the awesome, knowledgeable Physical Therapists and their staff. After multiple knee surgeries, the therapists at Peak have gotten me back on my feet each time and back to do doing the things I love to do. The girls at the front desk are friendly and efficient- I've never had more than a 5 minute wait for each of my appointments. My therapy program has always been tailored to meet my needs and unique limitations. Oh get this, they are charging me $25 for cancellation fee? Wtf is this a gym with a contract?! I went to you people for rehab. Never have I heard of a PT charging money for cancellation? Ummm me not renewing my prescriptio means i do not want to go back to you people. Not worried bc I forwarded that shit to my lawyer, let her worry about that. Its only 25 yeah, but its the damn principle. Mind u, I didnt even have an appt for the rest of the week so why are u charging me $25. The therapist supposedly was the one charging me. Oh, why? Bc the whole time I was there, he was suppose to be my therapist, but saw that guy twice for less than a minute.. this guy gets paid to walk around and pass the work to a pta, who by the way does a better job than the therapists. People go somewhere else. I decided to go to a rehab a lot further from my house, but fellow co workers swore that this new place is better. Peak is a fraud. read more

Physical Therapist's were great. I'd go as far to say the two I had were two of the best in the business. People at front desk also extremely nice. Just based on this alone they would have five stars without question. Only problem was when it came to billing. Place told me I was completely covered by insurance and at end of treatment told me I had no balance. Three months later I was hit with a bill in the mail. When asked why or if they could work with me I got no help or consideration whatsoever. Only complaint I have is with the billing department but as we all know that's a pretty important part to the business. read more

Peak Performance in Lynbrook is the best!!! I have been working with Tyler for a little over 3 months and the weight is falling off of me!! He is so much fun to work out with and makes working out a good thing!! He is a great trainer! I highly recommend Peak and Tyler to anyone Tyler will make you love the gym! Went there for physical therapy and training following total knee replacement surgery and was given great care. My trainer, David Albaranese, was exceptional, helping me strengthen not only my leg, but also developing a full exercise program that allowed me to accelerate my recovery. Both of the previous reviews were submitted over a year ago and rest assured that the place has gone completely downhill since then. It is a simply a business looking to make $$$ and not pay attention to the actual well-being of the patients, as physical therapists simply direct the clients what machine to work on, while they catch up on their personal lives. Their billing process is also ridiculous; full payment is expected at time of service, before insurance claim has even been submitted! If you're looking to be treated like a piece of meat while you're handing over your hard-earned money, this is the perfect place to go to. read more

This is an excellent facility with an extremely professional staff. I injured my back and neck by an emotionally disturbed patient in 2009. I have been to several other PT facilities before finding Peak Performance! I am treated like a person that matters here. Sadly I have previously experienced PT that everyone in the place was doing all the same things no matter what was wrong with them. That is not the case at Peak. Each patient is evaluated and given a specific treatment plan. Every time I walk in I am greeted by the girls when I sign in with not only a good morning but they always ask me how I am doing. In minutes I am escorted into the treatment area by an aide that is also checking to see how I'm feeling. Then my therapist, Dr. George Stamatinos comes over to greet me and see how I feel and how I felt after my last time at therapy. I am then guided through my treatments and exercises all the time under the watchful eye of my therapist!! I cannot say enough about how thoughtful and caring my therapist George is. I have also been under the care of Dr. Kristi Rocks who is also wonderful!! I highly recommend Peak Performance for all your physical therapy needs!!! read more

Worst place ever. My daughter who has had several cervical spine surgeries. Was left to do exercises by herself which wasn't explained to her by physical therapist but assistant. When she complained she was hurting and wanted to see physical therapist she was told that the therapist had paper work to do and to continue with these exercises. Well that night she spent in the ER. They offer spinal pt at the patients expense. I called and complained to the therapist with no call back. I should of called the state. The same thing also happened with my husband( I kid you not) he received surgery. I would not let them touch my dog. It is common knowledge when starting a new exercise especially with spines that they are evaluated by therapist who has a doctorate in physical therapy not an assistant. I also called them regarding this their response they sent me a bill. Guess where it is? In the garbage like there reputation is to us.My pain management Doctors cringe when they hear their name.physical therapy is a hands on profession, not at peak performance!!! They look for the dollar. Sending me a six dollar bill after what they did to two family members from neglect. I should send them the hospital bills as because of their obvious neglect and mismanagement two of my family members have been grievously hurt. read more

The physical therapists at Peak are always conscientious and helpful. They really get to know you and are attentive to all your needs. There was never much of a wait to be brought back for my appointments. I never felt rushed or abandoned when I was going through my exercises. The physical therapists always paid attention to my concerns and goals and helped me attain them. The office is organized, clean and well-lit. There are enough machines to accommodate both physical therapy patients and the gym members. It is one of the best offices I have been to and the staff really takes their time to get to know you and work with you in the best way possible. All of the physical therapists are super friendly and great to work with. After being a patient on and off for three years due to two knee surgeries, I got to know the majority of the physical therapists and I can say that they all work with you to make sure you are on the right track towards completion and make sure you get the full care you need. I would not want to go anywhere else due to the welcoming feeling you get once you walk in the door. read more
