After spending multiple hours going over every single detail of my wedding (details that I had no idea would matter), I felt completely confident in Helayne! On the day of my wedding, Helayne worked proficiently making sure every detail we previously talked about was executed. And executed, it was! My setup was gorgeous, my bridal party was always in the loop and never once out of place. She made sure that my photographer was taking all the right pictures, my bridal party was getting ready at the right time, and that my bride to be was stress free! I never once lost confidence in Helayne and her services! After we said "I do", I was able to sit back, relax and completely enjoy my reception. She was even flexible when I decided during the reception to cut out the bouquet toss and other events because I simply wanted to dance! We got amazing people in our table and we got to learn about white carrots and why now they are orange, we learned about cheeses, also we learn the basics of a charcuterie board, from color combinations to what goes best with what. Despite there being high odds of rain for our wedding day, I wanted to take a chance and try to make the outdoor ceremony happen. Thanks to Mitzi's expert planning, we were able to setup for the ceremony inside and outside and make the call only 30 minutes before the wedding. It rained so hard that the power went out in the bridal suite and Mitzi was still able to pull off nothing short of a miracle. In addition to coordinating with every single one of our vendors to ensure a seamless evening, Mitzi also went to bat for us whenever she could. Whether it was negotiating with our caterer to ensure certain rental items were included in our contract or disputing charges from the transportation company for a town car that failed to show up, I knew I could trust Mitzi to handle everything. Before we had our initial consultation with Ravin, and Ryan we had done some research at other wedding planning business, but didn't like the structure of the other companies. I wanted to make sure that we weren't having just 'another wedding.' Immediately after our first meet we felt super comfortable with Ryan, and Ravin. Right away you can see that the two of them have strong work ethics, and make each one of their couples feel incredibly welcome. Since I had already gathered much of my vendors on my own we booked Wolf Weddings for the 'Day of Package' our floral, linens, and cake. (the cake was DELICIOUS, but they are no longer promoting this service). We also ended up using Look Entertainment for the up lighting around the venue space. Fast forward to the month of our wedding--Ravin took full control of everything! I never could have found the time or energy on my own to contact each one of my vendors, and set up the timeline as she did. She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire year of planning. I was completely indecisive and she could take charge, and guide me to making the best decision. The day of our wedding was a complete whirl wind! Ravin was my POC throughout the process of the coordination; and her and I had strategically laid out every detail on the timeline to eliminate any hiccups throughout the day. I have heard nothing but good reviews about them, including from my venue .I was impressed with how organized and well plan ahead they seem to be. I had a consultation with both the Dj and The wedding coordinator. I gave the Dj quite a few must play songs. I also had a very specific request for the bride and groom Entrance into the reception. It is something I've always wanted to do. I was not sure if we were going to be able to have mariachis. Which the mariachis Would be a part of the entrance if we had them . If not, I had a Plan B and c , since this was really important that it went right. I was very pleased. Everything seemed to be in order. Everyone seemed excited.. I was definitely looking for the magic touch and for that excitement and momentum to be brought to the wedding. We started to hit some bumps in the planning With certain unexpected life occurrences That were unforeseen. We had to push our date out. Which they charged a 250 fee. Not even our venue did that due to the circumstances But I understand. Tragically, I had a death in my immediate family. Unfortunately, we had to push back again. Vega did reschedule with another 250 fee. Once again, they were the only vendor that did that but I get it. It was in the contract.so I Ended up using them for Dj service with the Lighting package and the day of coordinating service. They sent me a video of their mariachi's, which seemed very Entertaining And vivacious. So I made sure to make that happen at the last Moment. Which I did, let the Dj know. The night of the wedding, I began to come down being very ill. Covid was floating around, quite a few of my guest left with COVID. I text the coordinator to let her know I was starting to get sick, but I was going to take every medicine I had in my Cabinet. She was very sweet and assuring, which is what I needed. I ended up staying up till 4:30 AM and woke up at eight am . One blessing of the day as I was able to hold off being sick until a Day later. However, the medication definitely made me swell up . Needless to say the day did not go smooth in any shape way or form . but we made it through the wedding. It was now time for the reception.. I'm very sad to say I was completely let down with Vega Dj service. The Mariachis were OK definitely not lively. Definitely not worth $800 for hour . Definitely not very friendly. And I'm very sad to say our Dj flopped. He seemed like he was just there to collect a check, and that was it. There was no uplifting momentum.. Definitely missed more then a few songs that I had on my List. The songs he played did not get anyone out on the dance floor. For the most part for a DJ, he was very quiet. My biggest disappointment was after the careful planning of the bride and groom entrance. He completely did not follow through with that.. That was something that was very important to me and that is a moment I can never get back. And all I could do was smile and hide my disappointment when I walked into the Reception. The coordinator I initially felt bad for. it was a hectic day. I will definitely take accountability and own. The mistakes I made some of it could not be helped. Like me getting sick. Unfortunately, There was a lot of confusion and a lot of misunderstanding with some of the other vendors. Which I was a bit surprised since I was told the coordinator did contact all of them and verify everything and had all the details mapped out. However, She definitely sold me at the bridal show that she can handle any unexpected occurrences. I was going to TEXT her the next day and tell her thank you and how much I appreciate her service. However, one of my bridesmaids informed me that she had a lot to say about me and how poorly I handled the wedding and made it very stressful for her. The coordinator was $1500 just for the day. As the bride, I really should have had little to no stress . But to say that to my own bridesmaid was very disrespectful. very unprofessional . It made me wish I have not used the service at all. I've had other vendors who have called afterwards and asked how I felt about the service and made sure I was happy And if there was anything else they could do for me. Which to me was fantastic and Truly much appreciated. It definitely made me feel like they appreciated my business and wanted my business still. Which they will absolutely get. I have never heard from Vega I was very surprised to have such a negative experience with them . It actually still kind of surprises me to this day.. I wanted to wait to leave my review until after I had some time to definitely calm down and not even think about a wedding for a bit . We decided we will do a Vow Renewal As kind of a redo and definitely learning from our mistakes. And unfortunately, using the Vega DJs for any service is another Mistake I will not repeat.

Their equipment was state of the art, the props were actually unique and high-quality (nothing cheesy like some props can be), and they even sanitized each prop after use before placing them back on the table. (We are based out of Chicago, so this was a destination wedding by all accounts.) Bethany hosted countless phone calls with myself and my partner about design palettes (she even made a slideshow for us to help visualize) and helped us through some really difficult vendors. For example, AFTER we booked a wedding venue and paid deposits, the venue CLOSED with just a few months before the big day. Bethany sprang into action and found us an even BETTER venue. Also, we booked a flight into Austin to work with a caterer, and he cancelled last minute. Bethany, again - the super hero that she is - found us a better caterer, and even scheduled a tasting during the time when the original vendor left us hanging. She came to both of our fittings, as this was a double bride ceremony. She talked me down from my personal freak-out about dress choices. She made a budget, a schedule, e-introduced all vendors, kept a very rosé-drunk "I Do Crew" (sorry about that) on task during our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner with grace and a smile. She made great suggestions (taking 15 minutes to ourselves post-vows, the flow of the wedding, etc) and was always by our side. She shoo'ed people away so we could have our last private dance, and was warm and welcoming throughout. I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing she is. The first mortuary that we had (admittedly) lighted vetted answered our panicked midnight call, only to tell us that they would not receive a COVID patient and did not have the capacity to embalm my Dad. After quickly scanning online, I reached out to Porter Loring North and was immediately connected with the kindest intake specialist. Within two hours we received a confirmation call that my Dad had been collected and was safely resting. The next morning at 9am, we spoke with our designated funeral director, Monica, who thoroughly outlined next steps, timelines, etc. Due to backlog, we had a bit of a wait until my Dad's actual service and burial, but throughout the process, Monica had the expertise, empathy, and patience of a saint. Communication was constant and accurate. Porter Loring seamlessly navigated me and my Mom through all aspects of the service, from submitting forms to life insurance agencies, ordering death certificates, assisting us in creating a slideshow, and arranging flower deliveries. My Mom and I were never pressured into any sales, and even our smallest requests were honored. There was last minute confusion (on my part) regarding a song to play during my Dad's service, and Monica stepped in to correct the issue personally. My Dad's service was absolutely flawless, and I believe Porter Loring gave my Father the respect and dignity we could only hope to provide for him. He was the best!
