Mitzi asks the critical questions you will not find on The Knot or Pinterest. Specific timeline details that you may not think of until much later in the planning process. Although we had a rain plan in place for the day of the wedding, I was not willing to give up on having my dream outdoor ceremony. Despite there being high odds of rain for our wedding day, I wanted to take a chance and try to make the outdoor ceremony happen. Thanks to Mitzi's expert planning, we were able to setup for the ceremony inside and outside and make the call only 30 minutes before the wedding. It rained so hard that the power went out in the bridal suite and Mitzi was still able to pull off nothing short of a miracle. In addition to coordinating with every single one of our vendors to ensure a seamless evening, Mitzi also went to bat for us whenever she could. Whether it was negotiating with our caterer to ensure certain rental items were included in our contract or disputing charges from the transportation company for a town car that failed to show up, I knew I could trust Mitzi to handle everything. Seriously, if you don't want to drive your family, bridesmaids, and future husband crazy with your nonsensical ramblings about first dances and place settings, do yourself a favor and hire Mitzi Torres. Once you get on the road and after many twists and turns in a wooded area, you will run into the location. It's owned by a family on their land and they did such a nice setup inside the barnhouse. They also have an area where you can play horseshoes and bean bag toss. My new husband and I came here for a weekend for a quick honeymoon get away. We were living in…read moreAustin at the time, got married on Thursday, and had to move to Houston on Monday. We didn't have any time to take an awesome honeymoon, but we still needed to take some time alone to celebrate. This place was far enough away from home to make it feel like a trip, but close enough to Austin that we could quickly return to real life. The home is very beautiful and secluded, located on a very quiet country road with nothing but pasteurs and cows surrounding it. As soon as we pulled into the driveway, we spotted 4 deer having a snack in the front yard! As the name suggests, the property is covered in mature oak trees that add to the natural beauty. We stayed in the Burr Oak room, which is on the second floor and has a private balcony. When we arrived, the lady of the house had 2 giant chocolate dipped strawberries in our room waiting for us. I thought that was a very sweet touch. The room had a very nice queen bed, a tv, and a big bathroom that is shared with the next room. Luckily we were the only guests in the house, so we didn't have to deal with anyone else. Right outside of our bedroom was the game room. Lots of board games and books for quiet entertainment, as well as a mini fridge stocked with drinks and sweets. The balcony was wonderful. It had two very comfy chairs and a patio table. We set up the checker board and spent many hours out there playing. As we were not familiar with the area at all, we had driven into New Braunsfels for lunch. The lady told us that was completely unnecessary because San Antonio was right down the road. A very quick drive to the end of the street, and you were in the city filled with many many options for dinner. We had a key to the house, and the owners do not stay in the house, but in the guest house out back, but if I remember correctly, there was a suggested time to be back and have the doors locked. The lady that runs the B&B was so friendly! My husband is Indian, and she had many stories to tell about her trips to India. We are also both vegetarian, and it turned out her daughter was also vegetarian, so she was well versed in creating meatless gourmet meals! We woke up the next morning to a delicious breakfast of poached pears, avocado and asparagus frittata, and an almond and fruit cake that was apparently something she had eaten while in India. The next morning, she prepared a delicious country breakfast with biscuits and gravy with soy sausage and eggs. After breakfast, we went outside to meet the animals. There were several feisty chickens in the backyard strutting around and grazing and a very nonchalant cat that was apparently not a big fan of strangers. This place was very charming and it was much nicer than staying in an icky hotel somewhere. It was lovely to get away and be in nature and have a wonderfully delicious breakfast made with care and love each morning.

My husband, Phil, and I waited for 3 years for this wedding because of COVID. At first, it was going to be at Wedgewood Brittany Hill in CO, then it got cancelled because of COVID, then Wedgewood Carmel in CA when things started to reopen, and finally we moved it to Hofmann Ranch because my mom is struggling with complications from her double knee replacement surgeries that were postponed because of COVID and she couldn't fly to CA. The day before our wedding, Southwest cancelled Phil's best man's and his wife's flights, Phil's cousins' flights, and my friend's flights and my uncle had to drive all the way from San Diego the day before the wedding. We were beyond worried and devastated. Because of the Hofmann Ranch team, we felt so secure and so loved and our families and friends were able to meet each other for the first time and connect with each other. Britney thought of everything: making sure that my mom had a place to sit so that she could march with me halfway down the path of the patio deck, she held onto my train, she made a water color Phannie drink sign that was gorgeous, she made sure that we ate, she thought of every single detail and schedule change when our families kept talking and singing (this is what happens when you get a whole bunch of Filipinos together LOL), she made sure that Phil and I ate food, and there are countless other things that I am sure that we don't know about. Giving Britney my bouquet was the only way that I could say how grateful I was for creating a magical place and experience in spite of all the obstacles. Phil and I are so thrilled and feel like we were destined to be married at Hofmann Ranch. You have a special place in our hearts. I hope that your mother liked the bouquet.
