AWESOME service ! So when you attempt to back out of a garage when the door still has 12" to go to be fully open - nothing good happens. Called and spoke with Fred explaining that in my hurry to get to a day full of appointments, I did a number to the garage door. He was great to speak with - checked with scheduling. Because my vehicle was stuck inside the garage - he managed to shuffle some appointments around and have someone out shortly Bobby arrived and got the door back in shape (literally) - I also asked if he had a bottom seal on truck which he did and was able to replace ours which had been chewed up quite a bit by chippies. Fred came out in the middle of a snowstorm. He fixed Several Issues. Including oiling the wheels and track. He also synced my cars internal remote, to the garage door opener unit... After having another company install a commercial opener on our new door we had problems shortly after. They came back and fixed it but it still wasn't right. I flagged down Justin in his truck a few blocks from my house and asked for a quote to fix this door that was giving me issues. He pointed out several small things that all contributed to why it was repeatedly failing. The quote was more than fair. He scheduled a time the following day to repair it and as luck would have it, the door failed again and got bound up. I called and let him know it failed and he let me know early on they were down a guy today and it may be late but not to worry he would get it fixed. I'm very thankful he came through, he just finished up a long day and didn't cut any corners, he double checked everything, lubricated everything and made sure it was all perfect! My garage door opener (Chamberlain Whisper) decided to have a fit on Friday night and me being the non-handy man that I am had no clue where to go. i tried a few things but quickly realized i was not the man for the job. Luckily for me, when i searched via Yelp, Professional Garage Door was the closest garage repair. I called Fred, Saturday at 8am, he initially was going to be by the same day, early afternoon (which was just fine for me), but was actually able to get in much sooner, around 9am. He showed up, diagnosed the problem, took care of it, addressed a couple of other minor issues (remote battery, garage light being out and aligning my sensors and frames). He was quick, showed me my issue (coil springs popped), put a better option in place (larger coils - looked really cool by the way), and was out in about an hour. I felt i got a more than fair price and was extremely happy. Garage is even quieter than when it was first installed. I highly recommend Fred. read more

Garage door wouldn't close. Tried everything in the manual and it still wouldn't work. I called Professional Garage Door inc. and within an hour Fred came out and assessed the problem. Corroded wires and old sensors. Fred replaced them quickly and oiled all of the hinges and belts. Garage door is running like new. Fast, efficient and a fair price. Justin provided fast, quality, economical work repairing my garage door. My old garage door fell out of its tracks as I was leaving for work in the morning due to a frayed cable that I hadn't noticed. It was quite a mess. Justin was at my house within about 30 minutes of me calling. He got the door and rollers all back in the track, replaced 2 frayed cables, and made numerous other adjustments to the track and other hardware to prevent this from happening again. He also made some adjustments to settings on the opener and lubed everything up to make sure everything was in good condition. Two thumbs up. read more

I had a garage door spring break on me. I called Professional Garage Door Services on Monday evening and they were out at my house Tuesday morning! The technician was very polite, thorough, and professional. He quickly replaced both of my springs. I had repaired the motor on Monday and thankfully told him that. He double checked my work and realized I had not properly lubricated the plastic sockets. Had it been left like that it would have blown the motor. The tech fixed that as well as serviced (lubricated) both garage doors and openers. The total bill was right at $200. They are a bargain, and on top of that honest and trustworthy! HORRIBLE!!!!.. They put in a key pad entry and explained how to change the code, if ever needed. Several months later, I needed to change the code. I tried for over an hour and could not get it to work. I called Professional and they said it was easy but they could come out, although I would get a service call. I gave up. Several months later, I called again. A different person said that the garage opener was too old and I could not change the code with this keypad. I have two garage doors on this garage. They told me that I should have out the keypad on the other door because it is newer. They should have told me when I put the keypad on that it would not work on one garage door, but would on the other. Now they want to charge me to come out and move it. They are the garage people. THEY should have told me that my best choice was on the newer garage opener. read more

Awesome service, wonderful pricing. We have used Professional several times over the past few years, and have always been happy. This time one of our doors stopped working. I called Thursday afternoon, and he got here this afternoon. Minor repair, plus "tuned up" both doors. Total cost $80! And he comes from Oswego, and I am in Palatine. Our garage spring broke today. The door and spring are at least 10 years old, from Home Depot - we did get our money's worth from the spring. It was late afternoon, almost 4PM, meaning the timing wasn't great as far as finding same day help. I'm on vacation this week and my wife had left to pick one of our kids up from school, so her car was in the driveway when we discovered the problem so the the timing could have been a lot worse if her car was stuck in the garage. I used Yelp for guidance and gave Pro Door a call. They were able to squeeze me in and Justin was here within half an hour, finished in about the same amount of time. The door used to shudder and shake and squeak, and no amount of silicone spray fixed that, but now it's almost whisper quiet. So I'm glad I called these guys, lucky to have really, and glad that Justin recommended the better spring, although he gave me the option of using the same one as needed replacing. They seem like a fair, honest, reliable, family owned business. read more
