I returned to the salon to have it fixed, their first reaction was to laugh. My boyfriend wanted to sit next to me while they did the quick fix. It shouldn't have been a big deal for him to sit next to me seeing how no one at the time was getting a pedicure, there were available seats. Thankfully the other tech stepped in to save me from her. The service was ok, the girls seemed irritated that I had come when they wanted to leave. The prices were high for a standard shellac. I wanted to give this place a chance because its location. close to me with convenient hours. I had come in for a pedi and gel "shellac" mani. I started with a pedi. Thoroughly cleaned and massage, it started of good. But ones it got to the actual polish application, it was sloppy. Polish got on to my skin, and having the technician rub it off with her nail wrapped in a piece of paper towel wasnt pleasant. I then proceeded with the gel mani. I did have shellac on already so an extra step needed to be done for it to be removed. Afterwards she shaped my nail, noticing that my thumbs were uneven, I pointed it out and the technician rolled her eyes and hesitantantly evened them out. Gel polish came on, and I was done. Aftet couple of hours, I noticed that my thumb's polish had TWO chips! I havent done anything labour intensive, wash dishes, etc. I would definitely go back and get this fixed considering this is gel polish that should last for 1-2 weeks but they close in 20 mins and I have a flight to catch tonight. If you're the next Paris Hilton or the next nobody who thinks they're an A list superstar, maybe you should rethink walking into a mall nail salon that is run round the clock by bone-breaking, hard-working immigrant technicians/artists working to make ends meet on a 6 working day per week schedule. This is not a Spa Utopia experience with ten minute hand massages and a glass of lemonade or wine for refreshments. If you want that experience, take a trip to Beverly's in Kitsilano or book in to your closest Spa Utopia. For an exotic blast, carry on to the Miraj Hammam in Vancouver. Professionail is a franchise in a mall offering services that boast convenience. ...With a little planning and forethought, of course. Having worked in the customer service industry myself and experiencing what clients demand on the spur of the moment, I feel a lot of empathy for the employees at this nail bar (like many nail salons). Unfortunately due to this particular kind of business, you're just a number. You can either make the most of it or pit yourself in a bad situation. Personally I had a fantastic experience that was low key, chilled out, enjoyable and even personable. I didn't act like I was above anyone and I didn't make any demands that were out of this world. I certainly didn't speak in a different language and neither did the staff. They smiled at me and made me feel welcome and spoke to me kindly, asking where I was from. I felt comfortable telling the artist who was working on my gel nails that I had a semi-important meeting later on in the day. She made me feel comfortable and we chatted away. She was very gentle with the tools, much gentler than I've been treated elsewhere, I can assure you that. The nails were completely symmetrical, even and exactly what I asked for. Some places will massage your hands and arms. This place didn't but I didn't mind. I liked that the experience was one - on - one and client-focused. I have had experiences where an artist continued to answer phonecalls and schedule appointments through a headset or kept being interrupted to pick up a phone. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have a landline phone ringing constantly while you are trying to relax. This particular place was in Langley and I never went back. In comparison, Professionail was professional compared to other salons I've been to! As far as cash vs. credit/debit, I had no issues paying by credit card. If you're going to get your nails done at a smaller local nail bar, maybe it's a good idea to try to blend in with the other English-speaking locals getting their nails done there. I've traveled before and been asked for cash only at certain businesses because I had a foreign credit card. The only reason I can think of regarding this special request for cash only is that they simply didn't trust your mode of payment or the fact that they couldn't understand your language or the character of the client. Don't take this the wrong way.... people have to like you to want to work with you even if you're a customer. In the end they spent hours on your nails and worked for you and they want to make sure they get paid. This is a business. No one's doing anyone any favours. All in all, humble and warm-hearted place with very hard-working employees who work from 9 AM to 9 PM. Think about that bit too. read more

If there was a zero I would give it. I came in to get my toes clipped. There is a 3 senior centre 1 block away so thought they would be ok with a senior. Well if you can not or do not sit in those cheap little chairs, you do not get served. They have nice big sturdy chairs with arms but if you don't sit in those cheap little chairs for whatever reason then, No Service. I watched and waited and within 15 minutes another senior came up and got in those cheap little chairs and was given service. 3 nail technicans were sitting doing nothing but the qualifier is that you have to sit in one of those cheap little chairs and then you get service. read more

Absolutely Terrible customer service. Got a brand new full set of acrylic nails done here a few days ago, and I was happy, even though I waited almost 45 mins for my turn even though it wasn't busy. The following day one of my nails come off, I work a receptionist job and sit at the computer, and I was so upset, I called nail salon and they said 8 + Tax to fix and she told me come now, so I drive over right after work and they tell me to wait, I waited almost 30mins for my turn to fix my one nail. 4 days later same thing happens AGAIN, at this point I'm furious I have never got my nails done so terribly that the come off in less than 4 weeks! I went there and I complained that my nails keep falling off even and i only got them done a few days ago, the lady kept repeatedly saying 8 + tax to fix, she wouldn't even listen to what I was saying, no discount or anything. I had gel nail polish from this salon. The nail polish was of extremely poor quality and started chipping after only 4 days. In addition, the polish surface was uneven and no way comparable to what I got from other salons. The service is also poor and the staff is not very friendly. While I was having my gel polish, another customer came and complained that her polish started chipping after a week. At that time, I thought it may be just a coincidence but the same thing happened with me. Now I am pretty sure about their poor quality material, skills and service. I just came back from a pre-scheduled appointment for three people and was told they didn't have room to take us and we'd have to wait "five minutes". I knew that wasn't accurate given that everyone in the chairs were at the foot-soaking phase of their pedis. Needless to say, 5 turned into 10 which turned 15, then 20; after that, only two of us could be taken, and finally I was ushered to my chair 35 minutes after our scheduled appointment. The reason: three women who spontanously decided to get pedicures came in ahead of us and were ushered in just moments before our scheduled appointment. Instead of waiting until 5 minutes past our scheduled appoinment to give them our spot, which would be logical, they took them in 5 minutes before -- we were just behind them in the reception area so we overheard their conversation. This is not my first experience with this - while I was there for my pedicure last time, a group of four women came in for a pre-scheduled appointment only to find out there was no room and given, the "five minutes" "ten minutes" fifteen minutes" routine - they left with the comment, "what's the point of making an appointment if you can't take us?" The reason: they push people through that place. The ladies are nice enough but word of advice: go as a solo drop in - you'll have better luck getting in when you want to. Don't come here. My mother took me out for my birthday to get my nails done here- it was 5 o'clock. They close at 7. I wanted purple sparkly tipped solar nails. Simple, right? We were expecting somewhere in the 60$ -70$ range. By the time they had talked to each other three or four times and said "cash cash cash" and my mother pulled out a wad of bills and said "yes we have the money please begin now.", not only was it six o'clock but the price was up to 100$. Tried this place 4 days ago only because the salon i go to (Fusion Nails) was packed and i had to get my nails done ASAP for a party. So unfortunately i figured i'd go to this chitty place. When i arrived it was 1045am and the mall was about to open at 11, they helped us anyway. Me and my friend were the only ones there for about half hour, then people started showing up. We both got our shellac pedis and i got a fill. We left, and continued on with our day. I thought my experience there was fine (aside from it being crazy overpriced but i didnt care i needed to get them done) up until 4 days later. One of my nails almost came right off and needed a whole new nail because it was half off. Keep in mind that the nail was not broken! The whole thing literally unglued itself off my nail. Anyways i was upset but i said whatever its been 3 days, ill go tomorrow after work. Next day comes, i go after work and it was packed but some ppl were just finishing so i only waited 10 mins. Nancy the lady who did my nails was free so she proceeded to help me. I explained to her the situation and asked her to fix it as a courtesy. She then said ok glue. As she was about to put the glue i told her i wanted a whole new nail because itll come off again with just glue. She said 8 dollars. I told her no, i got my nails done 4 days ago and this happened yesterday, so as a business they they should repair my nail for free as good customer service. Long story short, we were going back and forth and everyone was staring because i was trying to make a point that when i first came a few days ago i paid over 100 dollars for my service and even tipd her and 4 days later it comes right off and i shouldnt be paying whether its a dollar or 8 dollars. They did not want to do it on the house and told me to just come back when the rest of my nails grow out and get a fill. This never happens when i go to Fusion Nails by surrey central. And even if it did, the staff is friendly and would have done it. These ladies at Proffessionail were all saying i should have came yesterday and that now its too late they have to charge. I told them i wasnt coming back EVER and walked out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! They did not want to provide good customer service to a first time client. I have had mixed experiences here. Sometimes my nails are great and other times I have had to go back after 3-4 days due to lifting. Can be a bit awkward since it is open to the mall and there isn't much privacy. As far as cleanliness goes they are OK. Not the best but also not the worst nail place I have been. I got pink tipped acrylic nails and the woman made me bleed three times. Also she ruined my cuticles. Later that day I realized she cracked one of my nails, so I went back a couple days later and first they wanted me to pay to get it fixed and then the same woman who did my nails the first time "fixed" it and buffed my real nail down so low it bled and then she filled the nail with acrylic and it burned so bad. I watched this place mangle my wife's nails on 3 different occasions, inexcusably poor precision, sloppy, they cut her cuticles and made her bleed every time, usually more then once. Worst of all, she went in for a solar gel nail removal today, expecting it to be healthier for her nails than pulling them off herself. The tech filed down the polish, cut the tips (including the natural nail underneath) then proceeded to pull off all the fake nails. It clearly hurt and took a layer of natural nail with it. Then she filed down her nails to absolute stubs, and we then had to ASK for a clear coat polish... Which they wouldn't do it until I paid first. Appalling. I'm furious. read more

Terrible! Unsanitary place- as I was getting my nails done, I saw a woman barley rinse a foot tub after one person, and then use the same tub and all the same tools on the next. Oh and you know those 1 time use flip flops they give you? I watched a girl take them after a woman left and put them back in a bin to be used again... Bad job- My cuticles were torn to shreds during an acrylic gel refill with the dremel tool. They are still swollen, ripped and raw several days later. I pray they don't get infected. She also ground my nails down so much I had to say ouch when it hurt. I thinks he was grinding all the way through my natural nail to skin! And after all of that, their prices are too high for refills, and they did an awful job. My nails look terrible. :( $42.00 for a fill and they look like I tried to do them myself. read more

I don't get what the other people say, I had a fantastic experience. The workers were nice and I even connected with some of them. The nails were well done and the designs were outstanding! There was a wide variety of colors to chose from and designs as well! While I'm not going to disagree on the bad reviews I definitely would recommend coming here. I come here all the time to get my nails done, and I'm planning to go again on July 15th. The service was very nice, hardworking and fast. The manager was nice and the place was very clean! The price for the nails was very fair and I didn't mind paying it at all. If your thinking about going here i would definitely would recommend it! read more

This place is close to my work and I went here on a whim because I just needed my nails done. HORRIBLE !!! The service was rushed and they didn't listen to anything I was trying to say. They didn't listen to what nail shape I wanted or how long. When she was cleaning my cuticles she CUT my finger and left a small hangnail on the side. I got a full acrylic set and when I lasted how long they'd last she said 3 weeks AT LEAST. A nail pealed off 1 week later, and I hadn't done anything heavy duty. Foolish me went back to get them to fix it and they did. Except that the same thing happened. My thumb nail started to come off a week later and by 2 weeks 3 nails had come off. I gave this place two tries for a pedicure. They rush you out within 30 minutes. My nail tech even set a timer to make sure they keep within the 30 minutes. Their $30 price is higher than other salons that are much cleaner and take the time to actually massage your feet and calves. read more

im aboslutley shocked at this place I just left from there in tears... first off not a warming envirnoment at all they all smoke in the languge to eachother no conversatiom with me the entire time just kept mention I had to pay before polish....i wanted longer nails she insisted I do them shorter we argued almost due to the colour I wanted telling me it was to natural... so she begins my nails grabbing my hands and twisting them she cut me twice both wer bleeings she didnt say a word just wiped it with a paper towel no sorry no nothing didnt even look up at me and just continuied... at this point I was so upset inside holding back tears not from the pain just the whole scenario.. she was me to wash my hands and go pay then she would do the polish... so I did... I go back in there quite angry this time as im late for work...I show them all! and they say oh u have to be carful... ?? carfful?!?? careful of wat? and that for 2 hours they stay wet I looked at them all in shocked and its got quite nasty from there I was crying they didnt care stood with there arms crossed.. telling me its not there problem! a customer literally came over and said pls this poor girl repaint her nails after 20 mins arguing she finally agreed to re paint them and after the paint was on to leave the store immidiatly said I could dry them else where I sat there crying while she re painted not once did they offer a tissure paper towel a cloth anything just all sat and starred at me... end of story I tried to dry my nails in the mall bathroom with the electronic hand dryers.... 68$ and they r still messed up and two cuts on my fingers....
