I go to this place for fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, and mainly good coconut. They carry flowers bouquet, rose petaL bags, all at a very reasonable price. The price on the veggies could be mixed, but if you need large quantities, this is the place to go.but note that the shelf life could be less for some of them. They do carry some indian vegetables so I visit this place often. During the spring and summer season, they do sell a lot of plants that you can grow outdoors. During winter, they carry tropical plants for indoor at a reasonable price. They constantly stock up the place, and the service is good and respond if you have any questions. This chain of produce market is great for fruits and vegetables at a decent price. You won't find anything organic or local. As mentioned earlier, all produce are already pre packed. So, you can't pick and choose quantity or quality precisely. One of the headlines in news as of late is of shop lifting from various retailers. What do you call it when the store does it in return to the consumer? All transactions are by cash. There are no sku/upc scanning for prices. You are at the mercy of the counter clerk's mathematical skills and memory of prices, since most don't have sticker price on them. Minus 1.5 stars because, on more than 2 occasions, we have found that the total price we calculated based on the prices marked at shelves were much less than what the clerk calculated. Attempting to correct them doesn't go anywhere. Minus 0.5 star for flowers going stale within days of purchase, as compared to your florist or grocery store. read more

It is like a Costco for produce. A decent amount of variety of produce. Everything is sold in kind of bulk. They even sell flowers.No single ginger piece or single eggplant. The excess amount of plastic, is just unbearable, everything is prepackaged in a plastic. Some of the items can not be selected on our own like onions, herbs, peppers and we need to ask for assistance. I like to handpick my produce so for me that was something I didn't like. There is no proper billing system and they do not accept AMEX cards. Since everything is sold in bulk and sold in plastic, I won't be going there back again. read more

I drove 3 hours down to this location to buy food for the holiday and I purchased quite a bit Thursday evening. The next day I noticed the tomatoes had mold on them and liquid running from them. The green peppers were also wilted. When I called I spoke to a man, who wouldn't tell me his name or the owners name and when I explained I'm not from the area so he said there's nothing he could do if I couldn't come back. I'm purchasing things that are supposed to be fresh and I can't understand for a place that is busy why anything would be on the shelf that is old. Reading all reviews and none are core t and not to be used to determine if you go to this store ! This is basically like a produce outlet and like a dollar store if you go and buy stuff here you can't expect great or expect it to stay good for more then a couple days which is why it's cheaper than grocery store ! You go here and buy if you are using it right away or cooking or having a party but it must get used right away so don't think your buying for the family for the week it will not keep , what more do you want for cheap prices ! So if your hosting a party or cooking for large group than great place to go to get lots for your money in bulk and use it with in a day or two and great to buy holiday decor and flowers , you can get 2 dozen roses for $10 instead of $80 !! I used to love this place. Lately the quality seems to have gone down. I purchased some green beans for Thanksgiving but they had white fuzzy mold growing in them in less than 2 days. The celery was starting to get mushy at the ends in those 2 days also. I also purchased romaine lettuce (oops..... that shouldn't have been sold since it was all recalled and we were told to throw it out on the news I thought it was green leaf (guess not)). All in all, I was lucky to have enough usable produce for the Thanksgiving dinner. Next time I have guests I'll suck up the price and buy at a grocery store. read more

I'll admit it, I have a produce addiction. I'm infatuated with produce, and the more varied and exotic, the better. My habit, however healthy, can prove to be expensive in other places I have lived. Plus, the Grower's Market has very slim pickings during certain months of the year. With Produce Junction, I can get my jicama, kale, peppers, limes and Indian eggplant, along with the usual suspects, for a fraction of the grocery store's prices. Also available is a selection of cut flowers and plants. Note: The place can be a little intimidating. There are separate lines for fruit, veggies and plants, and they only accept cash. I used to go here for produce about every 2 weeks and get ALL my fruits and veggies, and flowers. EXCELLENT prices, lots of selection. I really miss this place (just moved to NC - nothing compares!) They only accept cash & have 2 separate lines for fruit and veggies. Be prepared with cash in hand, they seem annoyed if you take too long. This is a great place to buy produce and flowers of all kinds, some I have never seen before. Prices are excellent. I came home with a counter full of produce for only $20. This place was packed but checkout lines moved fast. Well organized. The only thing that would help for those of us who don't know what all of these unique vegetables are is to have the bags marked as to what is what. A lot of different items piled together with only one sign and no label on the bag. Great place to shop! Great deal on fall mums too! They have potted plants and cut flowers. Produce Junction does have beautiful veggies and fruit, however the shelf life isn't long. You need to use it quickly, otherwise it goes bad. Especially the fruit. I gave it a lower rating because they don't use registers or calculators to add up your food. They add everything in their heads, so you don't know whether you are being charged the correct price or not. I know that you are not always charged correctly because they are talking, stopping to help the other person and then going back to adding your order. Why are they not required to at least get calculators, to show that the order price is correct? read more

I have bought bananas- to freeze to make smoothies. Cantaloupes when in season and cheap. You really have to check your berries. I have seen mold on them. The veggies are ok. I have bought ginger to freeze. Beets for smoothies and sometimes okra. Shelf life is shorter, but if you can eat them quickly... it's not a bad place. read more

This place offers good prices on foods and plants, however they are terrible when it comes to backing what they sell. We bought an outdoor plant that the cashier said would be great on our sun lit deck. So that's what we did. And it burned up. We took it back for a replacement and the manager said that he couldn't help us no matter we spend a lot of money there. This morning was my first time here. I was amazed at how much I could get for the price. I would have spent at least twice that at the grocery store. The guy even excused me "breaking etiquette" and just going to one counter and asking for fruits and veggies. I wish it was more obvious you are supposed to go to one side for each. I loaded up my cart full of fruits and vegetables and took them to the register. I was told there are 3 registers, one for fruits, one for vegetables and one for plants. How insane is that?! There were long lines in each. I just left my cart and walked out. For YEARS, until 5 mo. ago, they only took cash. That's suspicious enough. They are very '"flexible" in what they charge for the bagged produce, and MANY people have written that they don't know how to add, so I have to assume it's always in their favor. I have been a paying costumer for the past 10 years and I have to tell you this new ownership have given me the worse business ever! I went in there on a Friday morning to buy some fruits and vegetables and I have payed them with a 100$ bill and get my changed back in 20$ since that day I haven't shopped anywhere else and the change from that day was the only cash I have in my wallet, then on the following Tuesday I went to acme and trying to pay for my stuff with a 20$ that I have from the produce junction and I was at self check out lane, the 20$ kept spitting back out and not accepting the money then when I took a closer look the bills look very shiny so I realized that it was a fake money!!! Sooo disappointed. I went back to produce junction and asked to speak to a manager and there's this guy with a ponytail came and asked me how can he helped me... so I told him the situation and he went back to speak to someone then came back with couple more people asking me which date and time did this happened, i gave them the information to there answer, then this older guy came and tell me how do they know that the money is from them!! Like I explain at the very beginning that was the only cash I had from last shopping at there place.... he kept repeating saying how do they know it's from them and he also mentioned that they always checked all there bills which is A LIES!!!! , they only checked there bigger bills and if they get that smaller amount they always put it on the money spot. What if a person before me had paid with that fake money and they put it in the money spot then give it to me as a change !!!!! So they decided not to do anything about this to a loyal paying customer so I went to the police station and report to this situation and I will also be contacting the head cooperate of produce junction and to be sure letting them know what type of a person is running there business. Very disappointed. Great produce at great prices. Was having a great experience and associates were helping to locate products. The store was closing so we speeded through and grabbed what we needed. When we walked up to the pay, the cashier said she could not sell us the food because they were closed. All I needed was the apples from the cart behind her and to pay and be on my way. We walked out empty handed. Feeling deflated and all around bummed...why did they help us to find the products instead of telling us we could not buy and letting us waste our time...i told the many others in the store the message so they did not go through the same thing. Great prices but count your change! This is an all cash business, no cash registers even. I handed the cashier a 20 for a $6 bunch of flowers and received $9 in change. Wait what. I showed the cashier the $9 still in my hand and reminded her I had given her $20. She insisted she had given me $14 in change (the bills were still in my hand). She only handed over another 5 when she realized I was not going to give up. If this was the only time this happened I would not be writing this review. Of the dozen times my wife and I have shopped here we have been short changed 3 or 4 times. The last time my wife did not realize the problem until getting in the car to leave. She walked back in the store 5 minutes after making her purchase only to be told there was no way they could have made a mistake and she had to suck it up.
