" She responded "I'm not comfortable clearing you to work with elevated blood sugar." She stated that she would not clear me unless my doctor PCP says I can work, or my A1C is under 8. I have increased my treatment for my diabetes but all my doctors are confused as to why diabetes is being considered a reason to not work, especially without any work incidents. I'm not able to get in to physically see a doctor until August. My work thought perhaps I should just do the physical again since I'm getting treatment, however the same physician refused to do so since I would not tell her my HIPPA protected A1C. She also claimed that she "didn't say I couldn't work," after I mentioned this is clearly an act of discrimination against people with disabilities. She has yet to send my report to my employer after having an employee tell me that all information was sent to my employer. I have filed an inquiry with EEOC, I will look into other agencies as well. At this point this company is costing me well over $1300 a week it's been 5 weeks. read more

The "doctors" dont even seem like real doctors, they ask you very generic questions that any random person would on the street. They do tests that dont figure out the root causes of the injury. For the physical therapy office ... Nothing but a great experience. Starting from when I walked in the door, Misty was friendly and efficient, I felt at ease and taken care of. I am giving a 5star rating all because of office manager Jessica Castillo. The way she went above and beyond what she had to do to help me, is something I've never experienced before. I injured my knee at work and needed an MRI. The soonest available appointment was over 2 weeks away. Without me asking for something sooner she took it upon herself to find me an appointment the very next day. Stating that a 2-week wait is absurd. Jessica asked me to take a seat while she " worked her magic." Never have I seen such dedication and compassion for a patient like I did that day from Jessica. The personal touch she added by personally calling around to find a next appointment for me is unmatched. I appreciate what you did Jessica. I'm so annoyed that I can scream or rip my head off. This job wanted us to come and get a physical and drug test at this place and said it shouldn't take long. I get here and fill out the documents and get back in line only for some young dude to skip me. Next I finally get to the back and I'm thinking it is a good thing until I am watching the time and it's ticking. It took two hours for someone to acknowledge that I am there and then when she took my blood pressure I was still upset and the results were really high. And the MA is like omg this is really high I'm gonna give you a moment to settle down because we can't record this for you're exam. So I'm trying to stay calm and then it finally went to normal. Initially, the secretaries were nice and accommodating. I'm very displeased with the services they had to offer, what they're utilizing are PAs to see patients they are not doctors, they are PAs (physician assistant), and they don't listen to patients' complaints they just try and cover up symptoms and not addressing the the main problem. They are not even good at assessing patients, they are very poor in doing so. I would say that even a nursing student does better. They're not doing an extra step to uncover the cause of their patients' complain, they're only good at sugar coating the symptoms. One of the PA's they have even thinks he's better than a doctor and discredited my doctors finding. What is 18months education compared to a Doctor of Medicine's education? In short, they basically don't know what they are doing. If you as a patient want a to be taken cared off the way you should be, go somewhere else! The reason for the one star I put on for this review is just because of the receptionists they have out front. read more

Rude staff. I get that we have a pandemic going on. I had to come here for an injury at work, and they were rude and they ignored me until an hour and I called in advance. They kicked me out the first time bc it was at max capacity. Five people left and I rang the doorbell and waited and she ignored me. I opened the door and she said she'd meet me outside. I told her I was waiting outside while there was only two people inside and she said she didn't notice me when I kept ringing the doorbell. They need better employees. read more

I was scheduled for a follow up appt post acupuncture at Proactiv. I got there 15 minutes prior. With the waiting room full, I suspected that there was going to be a wait, reception informed that there was 3 to 4 hours wait even with an appointment and all these people were ahead of me. I understood, it is Friday, there is going to be a lot of work comp injuries or walk ins on a Friday afternoon. I was called in about 1 hour, I had agreed to see any of the three different providers I had seen in my past appointments. All 3 were Nurse Practitioners that were good, knowledgeable. so I did not have to care which one of them I would see today, since I had seen them all. But the provider today was a surprise one, he was a "real" doctor as the medical assistant put it and she led me to this Telemedicine room. I objected and said, "I would rather see one of the providers I have seen in the past in person". She stated, "no, it is okay, you have to see him first and then you are going to see your providers anyway", and she closed the door. So I thought maybe he's just easing the load on his office on a busy day and is going to do some preliminary work. This turned out to be the only provider I would see. First part of this appointment was this provider trying to make me understand that health is a big circle and zeroing in on a health problem to just be work related is unreasonable. Essentially, it was quickly apparent that he was inherently biased toward the presumption that health issues would not be related to the workplace. He had no knowledge about dentists' work conditiions and practices and the chronic pain issues that arise in the field. He repeatedly claimed that he did not believe it was possible for a fit, 45 year old dentist to have pain even though I repeatedly advised him that this was a common occurrence in the field. He repeatedly asked me if I was injured picking up something or something sudden happened, also something that may have happened at home and may better explain my neck, shoulder and upper back pain. I was again confused since my work comp claim had been fully accepted by the state comp insurance and this investigation is usually done at the first appointment or through the company prior to acceptance of the claim. The purpose of my visit was merely a follow up after completion of acupuncture yet he remained argumentative about the possible cause of my pain. At that point, I started to feel that this person is assuming am just trying to get away from my work. I told him that he can look at my records. I have not taken a single day off of work comp with this. Rather, I have used my own sick time. During the discussion of pain management, it came up that I was taking Ibuprofen and Meloxicam (another anti-inflammatory with less gut side effects as I was starting to get stomach acidity), he asked me in an accusatory manner, where I was getting these meds from, I said my other doctor gave me a prescription and Ibuprofen is over the counter anyway. He again accused me of using work comp and private insurance to get double treatment. It was clear that this person had not reviewed all the records, I told him that this prescription was also given by my work comp doctor, I further explained that this was my old claim that was closed in 2015, and I had future medical care, and this was not a secret as all his Nurse Practitioners that I have seen are aware. This appt turned out to be little more than a lengthy, accusatory interrogation. He repeatedly spoke about the need for a diagnosis and even when I explained my history of symptoms, the diagnostic rule outs that had been already done for lupus and fibromyalgia, he continued to claim the need for a diagnosis. This was quite absurd given he is a doctor who should have access to my prior records. I even told him that I had been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease , which he ignored. Eventually, when it became apparent that he was actually not bothering to listen to what I was explaining, he quite misogynistically claimed I was "getting emotional." From the patient's perspective it's the doctor's job to get the diagnosis. I could only tell you how I feel and relay my symptoms, which he said didn't make sense. I'm not sure if he was implying that a woman trying to tell her side of the story is acting out of emotion. He asked me if I did any yoga, said yes, he asked me how many times, I said I try to do yoga once a week mostly stretching nothing too intense, I try to vary my activity, try to do strength training, jog some days , different things throughout the week sometimes just walk .He indicated and asked if I had no pain doing those. I said I have pain constantly doing everything, even at rest. I just don't want the rest of my body also breaking down because of this. I would like to write more, but no more room here. Please if you have to go to this office, refuse this Dr. He is a disgrace to UCLA School of Medicine to say the least. read more

I took my drug test for a job and it came back positive, due to me taking Norco from a recent accident, I was in. Because of no one calling to let me know, it came back positive, I almost lost my opportunity of being hired. Please make sure you let them know, that you are taking prescribed medications, so that they can note it. As a matter of fact, take your prescribed medications in with you. Its better to be safe than sorry. Though they only do the collection with your samples, they should atleast ask you, if you are taking medications. It's better to be safe than sorry! read more

I came here to get my TB test and vaccine titers for work. If you work at the hospital for AVEMA call ahead and make an appointment. I was able to bypass the waiting room entirely. The girls who helped me were very friendly. I had a little trouble finding the place. Its right across from the hospital on Ave J, but its set back behind the older buildings.
