I went to Proactive for a back problem three years ago. In March 2015 I ruptured my achilles tendon. Following surgery, my doctor released me to begin physical therapy. This time my overwhelming choice was to return to Proactive Physical Therapy located at 10550 N. La Canada Drive in Oro Valley. An achilles tendon rupture needs several months of rehabilitation therapy. My Physical Therapist, Seth Peterson, is excellently trained, highly qualified and professional. He understands how to motivate you to do your best rehabilitation work while keeping you confident about your recovery. Otis Booker was my Physical Therapy Assistant and is also highly skilled and experienced. Seth and Otis along with the other staff members I worked with (Andrew & Emily) always made me feel comfortable and relaxed. At Proactive you are always greeted by a genuinely positive staff including the administrative personnel, Ellen and Monica. In addition, Proactive is spotless. I've just completed 11 weeks of physical therapy at Proactive- Oro Valley, and my experience - in every way - was outstanding. The facility and staff far exceeded my expectations. From my first interaction with the front office staff to working with Dr. Bre and Kirsten Weible I felt confident that I could reach my goals, following knee surgery. Neither one of them sugar-coated the overview of what it would take for me to achieve my goals. Everyone I worked with was genuinely interested in getting me better. The camaraderie among the staff, especially the tech assistants, was palpable. The willingness to accommodate me when schedule changes were necessary was just more evidence of what a great team of knowledgeable and experienced individuals await you. I have had physical therapy sessions in several other facilities in Tucson; but, neither compare to Proactive. If you are "shopping around" to find the best....stop looking! My friend used Proactive PT located in Oro Valley when she had a total knee replacement and highly recommended them. Based on her recommendation, when it came time to do my knee replacement I decided I would use them as well. And boy I am glad I did. I had a lot of complications with my surgery making my recovery tougher than normal. But my lead therapist and manager Bre and her team were up to the challenge. They provided exceptional quality care in a compassionate and caring manner. Because my situation was more complicated, Bre altered my treatment plan specifically to my needs. From January through April of this year, I spent three incredibly difficult months of PT; however Proactive La Canada has given my life back to me! Proactive Physical Therapy ROCKS! Everyone there is very accommodating. What I really appreciate, though, is Physical Therapist Bre Boettiger's thoroughness and attention to detail. I haven't yet met a doctor who was willing to take more than 5 minutes to diagnose a problem. Bre worked with me for at least 25 minutes, assessing a shoulder pain issue, and she nailed it! She started me on 3 simple exercises that day (with a regimen for continued care), and I felt 100% better when I left the office. read more

I have been training with Rick at Proactive for over a year and he has been great. I have a torn rotator cuff and while my focus at training is general fitness, he has helped greatly with the rehabilitation of my shoulder to the point that I am certain I will be able to go on without surgery. I've been going to Proactive on and off for years (for different issues, whether it was rotator cuff, back/disc, hip, etc) and it's always been a positive experience. I can't say enough good things about Eric Hobson at the Paradise Hills location -- he works with the physical therapists and is also an exercise trainer. I've been working with him individually on exercise, after my PT was complete, and he's the perfect combination of challenging, fun and compassionate. I came to Proactive to avoid a triple fusion 3 neurosurgeons recommended. After a year and a half Leslie told me you're fixed, get out and don't come back. Wonderful news.
