Pro Woodcare saved our home Due to the COVID pandemic followed by other unforeseen circumstances, the usual exterior care if our nearly 20 yr old log home lapsed. By 2025 it was obvious that just another coat of stain was of no use. The exterior stain needed to be stripped and redone and there were a number of areas which were the most exposed to sun, wind and storms that needed repair or replacement. After investigating several firms specializing in the care we needed, we selected Pro Woodcare of Wisconsin. A senior rep personally inspected the home and explained everything they would do and how the rehabilitation would stabilize and improve the logs. In 20 years stain development can now provide stains that would not just coat the logs but soak into the fibers and release moisture from rain and snow to prevent rot from developing again. Work started in mid-October and with mostly favorable weather finished in mid-November. The crews were specialists in the various jobs and were extremely hard working and efficient. It was sometimes noisy (sound cancelling headphones recommended) and the stain stripping was messy but the crews were very conscientious about cleaning up nightly and protecting windows, doors and landscaping. We had grown accustomed to the hard shell stain that darkened with every new coat and was prone to chipping and peeling. The new finish is stunning. The stripping and sanding brought out the natural grain of the logs and the new stain, now gold rather than brown, gives the logs a soft matte surface that is almost suede-like. With rotted logs replaced and new caulking everywhere we are back to snug and weather tight. We unreservedly recommend Pro Woodcare to anyone with a log home in need of care. read more

Excellent, professional all round. We had quite a major job stripping an incorrect product from the entire home, repairing/replacing logs, re-caulking, and staining. Tim Cross and the team were detailed, communicative, and followed through on everything promised, when promised. When surprises were discovered during the process, Tim was proactive in addressing, finding appropriate sub-contractors when necessary and initiating work in order to keep us on schedule. The deck looks great! A much better job was done this time than last. Couple of small things- the indoor /outdoor thermometer was knocked on the ground, not broken. And I'm wondering if extra stain was dumped on the ground or rinsed off of equipment? The reason I'm asking is a solvent or oil smell was coming up from our sump pump the next day. Unlike prior years, I am not satisfied with the quality of the recently completed deck re-staining. Not only were your workers not going to sand areas that clearly needed to be sanded (until we called to inform the supervisor) the quality of the end result is certainly less than what I was expecting. As evidenced by the attached photos, the staining is uneven at best. Some areas appear as though they were missed altogether. Based on my most recent experience, I will not be using or recommending your company in the future. read more

Horrible customer service. I purchased stain from them twice over the course of 3 years. They send it to you in a cheap 5 gallon bucket. I asked to have it sent in regular paint/stain cans and they said that would cost extra. I had a few gallons left over after my last stain job and stored the stain in my basement. The cheap bucket they sent it in cracked on its own from some sort of chemical reaction. I had a huge mess of stain to clean up as well as ruined cloths. I called the company and asked for them to simply reimburse me for the few gallons of stain that I lost due to their cheap bucket. They refused and said that's not their problem. Horrible service and I don't recommend using them for any service! read more

I had a very positive experience with Pro Woodcare from the initial estimate, to working with the office, to the crew who pressure washed our deck (which we learned after moving in had been terribly neglected) to replacing the boards requiring replacement before the crew did the staining and sealing. Looks great. Tom was just a pleasure to work with. Fair, honest and responsive. Follows through and does what he says he will do in the timeframe promised. Communicated along the way. We have a log home and had to have work done on our home and our deck. Both look amazing and we couldn't be happier with the crew we had; they did a wonderful job! They were also extremely polite, conscientious, and took care of the house, making sure stain didn't drip, etc. The entire crew worked really hard and rarely took a break, great work ethic which I know is harder to find these days. Worst expereince ever. Used a sprayer on a windy day to apply stain to our pergola. The stain coverd the back of our two-story house and brick patio. The patio will need to be professionally cleaned but it may not remove the stain. They never apologized or took any responsibility. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

They were arrogant and gave you the impression that they were doing you a favor by working with you. Think twice! read more

The owner actually yelled at my wife when she called to question why the crew didn't move patio furniture and grills out from under the deck before dripping stain on it. We have an expensive cedar siding which after 20 years of outdoor elements and some poor staining jobs was not looking good and in trouble. Finding Pro Woodcare online we set up an appointment. Tim, the owner, came out in a timely manner. We could tell he knew what he was talking about. Although their quote was higher than the others we received, we felt confident in choosing this company. Like the old saying you get what you pay for. They were just wonderful to work with, going over the process our wood was to undergo. They even waited to schedule us until our pool was closed so there would be no chance of damage to it. We had a fantastic crew that came. The lead gentleman came out days prior to test the wood and answer any questions we had. They were most respectful of our property and cleaned everything up. Our house didn't look this good when it was originally stained. The job was about two weeks and so worth it. The color is still in the dark mode as was explained and we can't wait to see the end result when it lightens in a few weeks. Great job guys!!! read more

I was reluctant to pay the cost of refinishing our log home, but it was strongly recommended to maintain the value of our home. After the work the ProWoodCare team did, I can see it was worth it. The job was simply amazing (this is the first online review I have ever written, it was that impressive). The crew did very detailed and careful job, with friendly, safe, gentle treatment of a curious observer (that won big points from me). After they were finished and loaded in the truck, I saw the team lead take one last walk around the house. I did not find a single speck of litter, and the windows were cleaner by far than when they started. Quality and great customer service. Great combo! read more
