I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. Shortly after the roof was finished we found (unrelated) rot behind some siding, and we hired Tri-County to replace the siding as well. When we got bids for the roof some contractors pressured us to sign a contract (I crossed them off my list immediately). Tri-County never did that; they provided a detailed written bid & never gave us any sort of sales pitch. During the course of repairs they accidentally broke a window & they fixed that with no hassle. From my experience this is a company that does quality work and addresses all issues promptly and fairly. I'd hire them again.

I am leaving this review to caution anyone from working with JB Custom. I got a quote and was…read moreassured by the person who came out to my house that they would be respectful of my budget and would come up with a quote based on what services I needed prioritized. We agreed on a plan and budget, which included ripping up carpet and laying down LVP flooring, along with drywall repair, paint and installing fans in the bathrooms and repairing any drywall that was damaged as a result of that installation. Before the project started, I asked if the baseboards would need to be removed and was told no. During the process of ripping up the carpet, they did in fact have to remove the baseboards, which was not discussed with me, and I was told they would do their best to keep that extra expense "at cost" and "as close to our original quote as possible." Also, hardwood floors were discovered. I had a conversation with them about what it would mean to refinish the hardwood floors instead of laying LVP and I was told it would save me money. They sent me a "change order" for this, which was roughly $1000 less than my final balance due, so it seemed I was saving $1000. It was an ADDITIONAL 5k. This was not clarified for me until after that part of the project was finished. The entire scope of my project was not complete, because I had to ask them to stop working on the house due to already exceeding my budget, repeated delays, confusion about whether they were hiring an electrician for part of the project, and unfinished work. While I was waiting for clarification on the additional 5K charge, the owner reached out to me to have a conversation about the project - he left a voicemail which I returned. He never tried to call me again. After several conversations with JB, I was told they would refund the cost of the baseboard (their mistake) but they did not offer to make any other adjustments to my total due for work that was completed. I can only come to the conclusion that I was deliberately misled. I agreed to hire them because I wanted to get all of my projects completed at once to save time. I am left with unfinished work that exceeded my budget by a few thousand dollars, and at square one with my bathroom fans and and other finishing work that needs to be done.

We've had them back three times in the last three years to fix or replace the siding due to their poor installation.
