We talked, he shared the history of the company (30 yrs in business, I remember correctly) and reviewed what we were hoping to replace- he showed me what Shading Solutions could do- measured, twice, and we were on our way. The date he told me to anticipate our awnings should be delivered and one week before, contacted me to say we are on schedule! The awnings were delivered and we set a date for installation. The day before, Kurt Lamothe, the installer, came to look at the awnings and to check out the job site, impressive! Not waiting for 'day of ' - being proactive shows professionalism ~ so appreciated in this day! The installers show up, again, professional and friendly and EARLY! Again, I was impressed because as they're installing, Joe, my sales guy, shows up just to make sure all is going well and that I was satisfied. He even texted me after to say there is a windy storm rolling in so make sure to roll up the awnings as they were just installed. The guys picked up all the wrappings and left not one piece behind. Oh- and the price was fair, no hard sell or upsell. Will post pics later ~ but we are VERY satisfied to find a company and people who are professional and are great at their jobs! I told him that I can pull a full trailer of thatch out of my lawn when I do it myself. He told me not to worry that they are very thorough. When I arrived home to see how things were going. I saw a young man walking behind the thatching machine at a very brisk walk. I told the other guy that he is walking to fast for the thatcher to do a good job. The machine needs time to work properly. He then slowed down and was still not pulling thatch out of the lawn. At that point I figured the machine was set for speed not performance. They offered to rethatch the lawn. I told them not to bother because the machine is not working properly. I told him I would call his boss. I called and spoke with the owner. I told him they only pulled two garbage cans of thatch out of my lawn and the machine was not set deep enough to work properly. He told me they offered to do it again and that I declined. I told him they could thatch the lawn five more times and it wouldn't make a difference. I asked him to come out to the house and take a look at the service his company provided. He flat out told me NO. $295.00 for two garbage cans full of thatch is a little pricy. Most people don't know what they are buying or what to expect with these services and the service providers know it.

I had my garage floor done. Communication on their part is awful. I had to call multiple times to a…read morevoicemail (Lou) in order to get on the schedule for a quote. Finally I called Mike. He came out and was very nice, professional and gave me helpful tips not related to the job. I sent in my deposit and waited for 3 weeks before giving Lou a call since he apparently does the scheduling. Lou isn't good at calling back (see first multiple attempts for quote). Again, I had to call Mike to get any response. Lou then called back and got me on the schedule within the week. Pro tip - only deal with Mike. Come the day of work, the two-team squad came over an hour late. At one point their grinder broke and had to be replaced that day. Later that afternoon, the two guys started to REALLY argue with each other - it was embarrassing, and the older gentleman told the younger one to go home and "he'll find a ride - JUST GO!!" About an hour later, another team came to pick up the older guy and clean up. To be honest, the younger one definitely seemed to be slacking most of the day. Anyways, the older guy came to the door and said they couldn't finish today (he did not tell me what happened, even though I knew) and that someone will call later to say when they'll be back out. There was no guarantee they would be back the next day! What?? So... back to you know who, Lou - because he's the scheduler. Fancy that - no call that night. I called Lou the next morning and asked what's going on -- again, on VM. Does Lou ever answer his phone?? At 11am, another crew was at my house - no call or anything. I was out running errands and left the garage open - good thing! They finished up and the outcome looked really good. However, I'm a bit of a perfectionist and this wasn't perfect. There's noticeable areas where the clear-coat is thicker than other spots. They said it would be level but it's not. They also scuffed up my walls - thankfully in areas that will be hidden. The ONLY reason they got 3 stars is because of the finished product. If everything else was handled better - 5 stars. Overall, they were much cheaper than the competition and so dealing with the hassle for the price was OK to me. Perhaps that's their motto? Oh. Lou called me that afternoon to make sure his team came by to finish up. It was a quick call, just to verify, and never apologized or asked how everything was. This company gives the impression they just want to turn and burn as quickly as possible - proper customer service is non-existent outside of Mike. I do really like my "new" garage, though.

It wasn't because of price, folksy sales-speak, flashy literature, big promises. It was because our gut told us: integrity, commitment to quality. That was our introduction. With each subsequent interaction, whether it was Affordable's Jen on the phone answering our questions, in-person with Dave at the Kenosha showroom, emails and banter with installation crew led by Eric and Dan on-site, every exchange reinforced that these people know their stuff. Any job is going to have its peculiarities and ours was no exception. When a hiccup arose with code, Affordable quickly resolved the matter. When something unexpected arose with the deck foundation, a creative solution was deployed and work continued uninterrupted. There may have been other wrinkles along the way, things homeowners are blind to, but this team is proactive and delivered to us a living space that feeds our soul after a long day at work. Affordable Patio Enclosure Issues we had over summer of 2026…read more1. TV Mounting Bracket. a. Was told by Salesman initially that all we had to do was get the bracket and his crew would mount for us on our existing outside wall (now the inside wall of our new room). They ended up cutting my siding in wrong location and determined that they had nothing to mount to. I had to mount the bracket myself. The crew was two inches away from the stud. So not only did I have to mount the bracket myself, I had to fix the hole in the siding as well that they created. 2. We were told by salesman that there would be an imbedded "beam" in the roof to run the electrical for the ceiling fan. We didn't find out until the roof was being installed that there was no inside beam and thus they would have to mount an external somewhat unsightly beam and we would have to mount the ceiling fan to this beam. No one from the office informed us of this change. 3. We were told that we would get extra windows above the sliding glass door and two other spots above the main windows. Again no one from office informed us that this was not possible. We found only from the installation crew. Poor communication. 4. We had a side "walk in" door and a sliding glass door installed, both doors never locked and I had to make the necessary adjustments in order to get them to lock. 5. Another issue with the sliding glass door. When installed, the actual door sat too low in the door frame exposing the outside weather stripping. I addressed this with them and they would send out a crew to adjust. The crew spent a whole day removing the whole frame and door and "shimming" the door frame to fix. This did not fix the problem. I Looked up on Youtube as to how to adjust this type of door and within 30min, I had it adjusted correctly. 6. I'm not sure what happened between the plywood being put down for the floor and when the Laminated Vinyl Planks went down, but we currently have pits and valleys in our floor. So it is currently not an even floor. 7. One of the bigger problems we had is with the roof leaking. They mounted the roof to the house and somehow used white thick tape to secure and seal to my existing siding. Once the leaks started appearing, they tried fixing at least three times without success, even thou they said they had seen this before and could fix. Water was dripping down the siding, that was once my outside wall and is now my inside wall of my new room. On the last attempt to fix, they decided to use flashing and tape (should have done that on initial install) they found one pc of wood against my house that had some rot. I understood that this needed to be replaced. I was told I needed to get a siding Company to fix the bad pc of wood. Once I got the siding Co. to fix, I was told by siding CO. that Affordable originally did not affix the roof to my house per industry standards. They did not use the correct flashing needing to prevent the leaking. I was never offered any compensation for the sub-par original assembly of my roof. I had to pay the siding company to complete the job the correct way.

Instead, this business installed a flammable,resin based quartz product behind my range and it burns! Although they were part of the original kitchen plans they carelessly and might I add dangerously, installed this product with me, the consumer none the wiser. Now my wall burns when I use my range and they refuse to take it out. I have even offered to pay for the new material. Please don't hire these guys. I'm sure they're great until you have an issue but if you do, you don't want this company in your corner (or your home).
