I have dealt with other tree companies in the past and they always charged one price for cutting the tree down, and grinding the stump and/or carting the wood away cost extra. Their quote was totally reasonable for a full day job that involved cutting down and removing 7 large trees and 2 small ones (with stump grinding for 4 that were between the sidewalk and street, thus preventing a tripping hazard near the sidewalk) in addition to pruning several large Japanese Sawara trees, one very large Magnolia and two large spruce/pines. The crew and foreman were skilled and friendly, professional and polite. When they were done, they made sure to clean up completely. So: A+ for the tree work itself. The front office was also excellent. They promptly emailed me a professional contract (meaning: itemized and complete), and they responded immediately to my request for their Proof of Insurance documentation. I mention these Front Office things because not every tree company does them, even if they may do good tree work, and it's nice to have everything totally clear and written down.
