I've seen a number of young students that started in the kids class to become very good black belts. Black belts are not awarded if you're under 18. Every now and then the class will run 'Bull in the Ring'. This simulates what can happen out in the street when your attacker might come from behind or you're attacked by two or more assailants (sometimes with weapons). In sparring class, you may be placed on the mat, and you can practice your take down moves, and grapple. I've seen bloody noses and black eyes (unintentional of course!). Check out the classes.

This is not a place for kids who are completely new to judo or self defense classes. When my kids were in the class, they both got injured due to the lack of proper instruction and safety. Once you are in the class, there is no separation for beginners, intermediate or advanced. Everyone is expected to do the same thing on their first day. Due to lack of supervision and proper instruction, one of my kids injured her neck and was taken to ER. We also noticed advanced students were paired up beginner students while and larger students were paired with smaller students. As a result my other kid also got hurt. When this was brought up to one of the instructors (not Mr. Goltz), the instructor just scolded my child.

I observed several groups of students going through their group as well as individual skills test. It took well over two hours to complete but even the very young students were well behaved and as attentive as they could, given their age. I was very impressed with how patient and compassionate the instructor was during testing, encouraging those that hesitated when they got stuck in the middle of their complicated routine with a gentle reminder of the next step. I was also impressed that instructions were given in Mandarin as well as in English which helps reinforce my grandson's language skills being half Chinese and being in a Chinese immersion class in elementary school. Not only are the students learning kung fu skills but also; discipline, memory skills, gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and learning to listen & follow directions, which enables children to develop fully. Being a retired educator/administrator, I was very pleased with what I witnessed.

Tiger House Muay Thai Academy is the best!!! My children…read morehave been coming for almost a year and a half, doing Kids Group Classes. Eventually we decided to enroll my son into private classes with Coach Kerel, in addition to the Kids Group Classes. My children are 11 and 6yrs old. My favorite aspect of having my kids enrolled in the Kids Group classes is the consistency in discipline, and structure. My kiddos attend Tuesdays & Thursdays only but we do like the fact that we also have the option to come Saturday if we wanted. My 11yr old is the one who takes private classes with Coach Kerel. Coach Kerel is amazing with communicating anything related to my son regarding how focused [or not] my son was during each session. Coach is clear of his standards with my son and my son resonates well to his expectations. Kerel is stern yet accommodating to my sons energy levels for each private session which allows my son to reciprocate the same respect. Watching my kiddos over time has been fun to be able to recognize how much growth and progress they have made. And the growth in the relationships they have made through Tiger House. Thank you Tiger House Muay Thai Academy.

The atmosphere is positive, family friendly, and focused on helping every student improve, regardless of experience level. The coaching is outstanding. Daniel trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, and MMA, while I train in Muay Thai. Since joining, we've both improved tremendously. Daniel has elevated his grappling and overall fight game, and my striking, conditioning, and confidence have improved significantly. One of the biggest highlights has been watching Daniel's progress. Since training at Strength And Honor MMA, he has won multiple Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournaments and continues to grow as a competitor. More importantly, he has become more confident, disciplined, respectful, and resilient. The coaches do an incredible job developing both skills and character. My Muay Thai training has also been an amazing experience. The instruction is technical, challenging, and practical. Every class pushes me to improve while keeping a positive and supportive atmosphere. If you're looking for top quality instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, or MMA, I highly recommend Strength And Honor MMA. Whether your goal is competition, fitness, self defense, or helping your child build confidence and discipline, this is an outstanding place to train.
