The Inn: Almost perfect, and worth every bit...almost…read more There are places you stay and places you experience. The Inn at Sundance falls firmly in the second category, and if you are looking for a mountain escape that feels genuinely removed from the noise of everyday life, this is as close as Utah gets. The Inn opened in January 2026, 63 rooms built in careful harmony with the landscape that surrounds it. Robert Redford spent decades shaping Sundance into something that felt more like a living philosophy than a resort. The design balances modern, rustic, and elegant in a way that is hard to pull off and harder to describe. You just feel it the moment you walk in. The rooms are warm and well appointed, with mountain views that do the decorating for you. The living room gathering space is intimate and welcoming, the kind of place where you linger over a complimentary breakfast longer than you planned because leaving feels like a small loss. Wherever you stand on the property, the views stop you. The staff deserves its own mention. The valet, the concierge, the servers in the living room, everyone carried the same genuine warmth. We were driven to the spa in a Land Rover, which sounds like a small detail but sets a tone that the rest of the stay never dropped. Now for the honest part, because four stars means something happened. Request an upper floor room and ask specifically about proximity to the lift path before you accept an assignment. Our ground floor room sat close enough to a walking path that privacy felt thin throughout the stay. And on Saturday morning at 6:30 am, a lawn mower started just outside our window. At a resort of this caliber, that is simply not acceptable and an easy fix that should not need to be said. Those two things kept a genuinely special stay from being a perfect one. Everything else about the Inn earned five stars without question.

While we expected outstanding customer service, beautiful surroundings, and delicious food, Sundance exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff was waiting to assist us with anything we needed. We immediately felt like royalty, and that exceptional level of hospitality continued throughout our entire stay. The spa, springs, restaurants, activities center, art gallery, scenic trails, transportation, and accommodations were all outstanding. Even when the bell staff was busy, they made us feel valued and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Our birthday celebration was unforgettable, thanks to the warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail of everyone at Sundance. We can't wait to return!

Just to review my family's lift ticket and general process, it was a very frustrating day on…read moreDecember 29: The day prior on Sunday, I tried to reserve online for rentals and discovered that I was unable to rent any skis or boards for the next day. The website said it was available only as early as Wednesday! So I had to rent elsewhere and bring them in. Ok, So Monday morning I arrive to the first parking area and the attendant said I had to go to the upper level instead to print out my tickets at the kiosk. Okay so I drive up to the upper level, and look for the kiosk dispenser to use my QR code. The kiosk took my QR code but didn't spit out any tickets/cards. The attendant near the kiosk said to go in the 1 hour ticket line adjacent or try the kiosk at the lower level. Soooo, I drive back down to the lower level and look for some kiosk. I asked 3 people and 2 people misdirected me all around to a yurt, and then a cafeteria, then someone finally showed me where it was. I tried the kiosk, and then it said it was already printed out!! So then I had to find the ticket office. Again, I was misdirected to different areas and said it was the "activity center". Ok I saw it but there was a giant ladder that was blocking the double doors. I don't know why I had to bump the ladder just to get in, but I did. Then I had to get in another line. Then it took 15 min to finally get my lift tickets/cards. They were nice but my frustration level was so high. Then I asked for a locker, and there was actually no locker at this area. What's a ski resort without lockers? They said I had to go back to the upper level to get a locker. Omg. NeverMind. Ok so we finally get to the lift on the lower level after 1 and a half hours later and guess what , sometimes the lift tickets/cards work and sometimes it doesn't. It was like that all day. Sometimes we had to take out the lift ticket/card out of our jacket and place it right next to a sensor reader , or place it next to the reader on the opposite side. We made the most of it for about 3 and a half hours and called it quits. Snow was fine and I understand it wasn't optimal. But this lift ticket process shouldn't be this inefficient, and I don't understand why people can't directly rent skis or boards online the night before during high season. I believe this isn't a new ski resort. A ticket is $159, expensive and way overvalued

Take the time to drive to another resort that can actually manage the demand and flow of people…read more If there is any snow at all you will drive all the way up the canyon just to get turned around. This time I got turned around and told to go to a park and take the shuttle up, only to wait 45 and be told the shuttles wasn't running today. I certainly understand the limited parking, but to have no plan at all to manage it is ridiculous. Even when the shuttle is running its every 30 mins and is very small. UTA only goes up every few hours. Today I came to see my friends son ski with Wasatch Adaptive Sports and took time off of work to go, only to find there was literally no way to actually get to the resort. I would have waited for parking, I would have taken the shuttle, I would have parked and hiked in but there was literally no way to get there. Such a poorly managed resort.

I've rented other places before, but this place was far and away better. The two waverunners I rented were in top shape, fast and we didn't have any problems with them. The waverunners performed better than I had expected. Jason was even cool about a ding I accidentally put in the rubber molding I was worried about. He said "don't worry about it, I won't charge you for that". If you are looking for great, well running machines at a very fair price and fantastic customer support... Rent from these guys! It's amazing to me as I have read through some of the negative reviews and people mention Invert Sports isn't thorough and fair when it comes to the 24 hour pick up and drop off times. The guy who checked out the waverunners was very specific and even stress the 9 AM drop off. Later, again when paying for the rentals with Jason he was very thorough about the 9 AM drop off I was very well-informed and aware of the consequences if I were to return the machines even 15 minutes late. Furthermore, I was impressed Invert Sports was very thorough with the damage diagram in the contract and I was amazed at how they took video of the machines, so much so, I took pics and video with my phone as well. So, the bottom line is... When I read people weren't informed of the issues they are upset about it is simply foreign to me because in my experience Invert Sports was very thorough with the contractual aspects and more than fair.
