We needed our laundry room ceiling replaced since we had a new oil burner installed. After they came over to look at the job, we were asked when we wanted to do the job and we said we needed to know what the cost would be before we would go ahead and schedule anything. Most people would need to know that information. He told my husband that they would mail us an estimate, this was at least two weeks ago and of course we've received nothing. Maybe the job was way too small for them, but the right thing to do would've been to say that to us. This way we could've looked for other companies that would be interested in taking care of the ceiling. Young man showed up univited to my senior moms house. Claimed he had an appointment "from his Uncle John", to look at moms gutters. First he said my mom had called. I told him that was impossible, as 1 she didn't need the work he claimed appt was for, and 2 outgoing calls to strange numbers I have blocked. Then story changed to his Uncle John called her and made appt. I again told him impossible, because I have blocked all incoming calls, except from numbers I have programmed in to call blocker. After spending 10's of thousands of dollars on a bedroom rip down and replace and a complete siding rip down and replace we asked them to paint a tiny (8x5) bathroom and install 3 security locks on a bedroom door. They wanted $4,300!!!!!for that work!!!!! How on earth can they live with them selves!!!!!! $4,355 for about $430 worth of work! Wow! Have they no shame! We didn't realize that our door was a bit wider than the standard, and Pro Quality had to basically build a custom frame around it in order to install the door! The team did a great and careful job with it, and it looks beautiful! They also helped us with propping up a shrubbery that fell over in the big rainstorm... not part of their job but the team was so helpful and didn't mind! They've also replaced some of our oldest windows in the house with lots of wind drafts coming in, especially winter time. I called this company for a quote on the installation of insulation of the attic floor and basement ceiling. The estimate I received from "M" was 4 times the amount of the 3 other estimates I received. For the price he gave me I could have gotten a new roof twice !! I have a small ranch on the south shore of Long Island. "M" quoted a price of $12,500.00. I still can't believe I'm saying and writing this number, $12,500.00. I don't know if he was new, was it because I'm a single female, or did he seriously not know his business. When I told him he that was a really high price he had the audacity to tell me "you have a big house". WHAT????, I laughed, no "M", I don't have a big house. He had written his quote on a yellow lined paper and I asked him to leave that for him. He told me he was going to take it with him but he was going to email me the proposal. Needless to say I never received that email. I wouldn't recommend even wasting your time getting a quote, if you do and "M" shows up at your door, cancel. read more
