I called The Last Task to help replace a kitchen sink faucet that had a broken handle. Before this…read moreI tried calling 5 or 6 other plumbers and handymen around my area, all of which were unavailable until later in the week or backed up until the end of the month. Imagine having an kitchen with no running water for that amount of time; that's not the news you want to hear. Enter John Mosely from The Last Task. He tells me over the phone that he can swing by and take a look at it after he's finished with another customer. Quotes me a reasonable flat fee, figures the job shouldn't take more than an hour anyway. So far, so good. John arrives less than an hour later, starts to work, and quickly realizes that the old faucet is a tough nut to crack--literally, because the large nut holding the old faucet in place is super tight and near inaccessible in the cramped quarters under the sink. An hour and a half of blood, sweat, and tears (but mostly sweat) later, John is about to call it quits, but not before calling his more-experienced handyman partner to come help, reassuring me that he wouldn't just leave me high and dry. While we're waiting, we decide to give the Faucet from Hell one more try using a basin wrench, but this time extending the lever arm with a long steel pipe John found in his van. The additional leverage did it--teamwork prevailed, the nut was defeated, and the rest of the faucet replacement went smoothly with minimal problems. John's character stood out to me in his attitude. Even though the job was more frustrating and took longer than expected, John remained professional, friendly, and positive throughout the whole process. He was honest and did not attempt to upcharge me for the additional time spent. I can tell he is passionate about his quality of work, the satisfaction of his customers, and the reputation of his business. I'd recommend John to anyone looking for a painter/handyman with a can-do attitude, and if his service is indicative of that from the rest of his workers, I'll be sure to give The Last Task a call for any other task I have around the house in the future.

He went above and beyond the call of duty and never once complained. Thanks so much for your services. I will be sure to contact you again when in need in the Woburn, MA area.

Ruy Barbosa is high off the charts in professionalism. He was responsive to our questions, and…read moreintuitive about our interests. He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.
