I started going to ProPT for pre-op strength work before my hip replacement. I was incredibly impressed with John Santos and his team. Thanks to their expert preparation, my hip surgery was a total success and my recovery was incredibly quick! John and his team of knowledgeable professionals are truly there for you every step of the way, from pre-op prep to post-op rehab. They are a very experienced, knowledgeable, courteous, and versatile team. Now, I am trusting them to help me manage arthritis in my shoulders, and I am already confident in their care. They give you the tools and direction to continue your exercises at home, which makes a huge difference. They even offer programs to help you continue gaining strength and flexibility after your medical coverage ends. No matter if you need to build strength before a joint replacement, recover after surgery, manage a chronic condition or continue maintaining what you have achieved, ProPT is absolutely the best place to go! I highly recommend John Santos and his team at ProPT! Patriciacq read more

I can't say enough great things about my experience at ProPT. When I first came in, I was dealing with severe lower back pain caused by long hours of desk work, and it was seriously limiting my ability to train and enjoy workouts. Thanks to the incredible team at ProPT, I'm now much stronger, in little to no pain, and back to weight lifting, daily walks, and workouts that I truly enjoy again. One thing I really appreciate about ProPT is that they don't take shortcuts. This is not a place where you show up, get a quick treatment, and leave in 30 minutes. They take the time to teach you proper movements and exercises, explain the "why" behind them, and make sure you're doing them correctly. You absolutely have to put in the work to get better--but that's exactly why it works. Because of the right movements and targeted exercises to strengthen my muscles, I walked away not just with less pain, but with a stronger, more resilient body and a much better understanding of how to move safely and confidently. A special thank you to John, Gaia, Joe, Jacob, and Claire, who were all fantastic to work with. Their expertise, patience, and encouragement made a huge difference in my recovery. And a big thank-you to the rest of the staff as well--everyone is welcoming, professional, and genuinely invested in your progress. If you're serious about getting better and staying better--not just temporarily masking pain--I highly recommend ProPT. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience. read more

Ive been scolded by him just because I don't have a good memory he was rude and I was trying my best not to be rude back I personally don't know if Dr john was having a bad day and also treated my own mother with disrespect through the phone just because she was asking if their was another an appointment for later in the afternoon. read more

Can I give this place a 10? I can't believe I waited this long to do a review. John Santos and his crew are without a doubt the best PT clinic I've ever been to. John helped me through one of the toughest experiences of my life, my first knee replacement.(I had started at a different clinic before I met him Let's just say it didn't work out) I had complications and he got me through it. And then he got me through my second one too. I've been to a few physical therapy clinics since then for other Issues and NONE Come even close to his care. He cares about his patience like none other. He goes above and beyond to do the Best work. I can't recommend this clinic enough. I just wish my insurance covered visits at his clinic now. Sometimes I feel like I'm on the verge of just paying out-of-pocket, regardless of whether I can afford it or not. He's that good read more

Amazing message from John and all staff very generous and care good office nice and clean

This entire team is awesome. They are vested in getting your injury healed, and building you back up to become stronger. Really appreciated the work from Gaia and all of the prescribed workouts out routines created by him. Thank you to John, the owner, for creating a custom home exercise program for me! read more

John is a miracle worker with his hands! After falling on my Sacrum I was experiencing agonizing pain. John spent sessions massaging my lower back and after many weeks I gradually felt better! The venue at Propt offers excellent facilities. The staff is equally superb. I am very thankful that I was recommended to Propt. It literally saved my life. I highly suggest meeting John if you have any concerns due to an accident. Thank you John!!!! read more

Pro PT has been amazing for my back issues having three surgeries. I have been going to them off and on over the last 9 years. I will go there the rest of my life to deal with the muscle issues I have from my last surgery. They provide me with a deep tissue massage in painful injury areas, ultrasound, and different weekly circuit training workouts to strengthen all of my body. I couldn't even barely move when I began there in no time I've been out walking trails, light hiking, dancing thins I was not able to do anymore. I highly recommend Pro PT if you are in need for better mobility, strength and pain relief. A special thank you to the owner John and all of his staff who are so caring and wonderful to take great care of me. read more

I went here for treatment for my kneecap and had a great experience. The staff is very professional and kind. Highly recommend!

My daughter just finished her ACL rehab with John and the team at Pro PT, and we could not be happier with the care and attention she received there. Her therapy progressed well, she was challenged and pushed when appropriate and she now feels confident and ready to return to her sports. Scheduling was always each and flexible as well. I'm so glad we found Pro PT and recommend them highly! read more

John helped me heal. I was not a believer, but after 6 months of horrible back and leg pain, I could barely walk and was losing hope I'd ever be able to live without pain. John and his staff have made me pain free. I've also learned all the home care so I can strengthen my core so it doesn't come back. I thank him everyday I can move pain free. read more

John Santos and his ProPT staff are caring and highly educated in what is required to return their patients to full range mobility no matter the injury. John's knowledge as to body mechanics is impressive - and he is sharing his extensive understanding with his under-studies, who themselves share his passion for providing their patients with their return to physical health and strength. I had nine visits and would have liked to have had more and would have if Medicare was not so parsimonious with payments and resort to pulling reimbursements from the provider if they do not agree with the patients progress, which by the way has nothing to do with the pain the patient may be experiencing, but whether or not they are scarcely physically functional. I continue with the exercises John has shown me for my total knee replacement and am sincerely appreciative of this physical therapy provider's care. I highly recommend ProPT. The emphasis here is on Pro as these people are extremely PROFESSIONAL and go above and beyond in offering their assistance to their patients from the front office insurance guidance, to the instruction and proper exercise conveyance provided by the therapists! Thank you John, Jeri, Zack, Neal, Brett and Erica! read more

John and his crew are phenomenal. Very friendly and great hours of operation. John helped me originally for my right knee and fixed it right up. Currently seeing him for my shoulder post-op and am certain that I am in good hands. He will push you during your workouts, not just let you do the same routine day in and day out. Definitely who I plan to see moving forward for any PT needs. read more

This is a continuation since my last review... 2 months ago I had sciatica L5 & L4 nerve pinch. after my epidural injections I was assigned a PT in the Laguna Hills area. My insurance co-pay was terrible, and they did not do 1/10th (NO JOKE) of the services Pro PT offers; NO deep tissue massage, NO dedicated trainer to supervise my progress, NO TENS treatment! Nope, just 1 hour of very similar stretching exercises that John had already gave me from the car collision/recovery last year and a terrible location to park at to boot! I called John at Pro PT, told them my situation and my displeasure at the other PT place; John said he could work with the co-pay as is with a tiny adjustment! Tomorrow will be my last of 10 visits, and I KNOW John's team has made real noticeable improvements in my range strength and flexibility. His treatments and his staff really make you feel like family and I trust he will treat you the same. Not getting what you need from your assigned PT group? Try John at Pro PT! read more

Incredible training staff. John is more than a physical therapist. You are welcomed into the Pro Pt family once attending. I was fortunate enough to play soccer at the collegiate level and I can honestly say my time and experience at Pro Pt was much better than my collegiate provided physical therapy. John staff always has the latest and greatest techniques and is willing to work at anyone's pace. I would highly recommend Pro Pt for athletes, non athletes, weekend warriors, surgical recovery of all types, and incredible personal training. Appreciate you guys! read more

Pro PT is amazing! I was recommended to come here by my home health therapist about 8 weeks ago, and this place has changed my life! I'm 26 yrs old and I broke my hip back in march. When I came here I had a pretty bad limp and I couldn't walk upstairs by taking consecutive steps. Ever since I came here my recovery has progressed beyond expectation! I am walking without any crutch, I can walk upstairs like normal, and my walk has gotten so much better. I come twice a week and I have seen a world of difference in getting my strength back. The staff here is super friendly and they are all very knowledgeable in the field. They know how to tailor the workouts depending on your injury and what you can handle. I am so happy I found this place and I would tell anyone I know to come here!! read more

Attentive, Effective and Affordable - They walked me through pre and post rehab for ACL reconstruction (patellar tendon graft) and Meniscus surgery. They listened to me, gave me great 1:1 care and challenged me with fun twists on classic exercises to get me back to top fitness. They sent progress reports to my surgeon and worked with my schedule of 3x a week for 4 months. Worked with my insurance and offered me next step training packages for after my release from PT to help hit my long term performance goals as a mtn biker and triathlete. I was very impressed with John and his team. I recently had a hip replacement and needed focused physical therapy to get me back to my original strength . I never held much belief in physical therapy. Was I wrong! After getting an MRI and a diagnosis of spinal stenosis, my doctor said my first line of treatment should be to try physical therapy. I was doubtful of any success but again, was I wrong, and I am so happy I found ProPT. John Santos is so knowledgeable and his primary concern is about his patients recovery and well being. He listened carefully to everything I was dealing with. He examined my MRI and developed a series of exercises for me that would help build strength and flexibility to help alleviate the pain from my stenosis making me able to function. The stenosis will never go away, but John explained to me that I need to manage it, both physically and mentally. He taught me correct body mechanics and how to pay close attention to what my body is telling me. I've exercised all my life and it has been difficult for me to change the way I approach exercise and to tone it down so as not to cause myself more pain. With John's guidance and the help from his staff, I'm learning a whole new way to function and am very happy with the results. His incredibly friendly, happy, funny, and easy going staff welcomed me in and I could tell had nothing but my well being in mind. I always had fun while I was there and received very personal attention. Go find out what PT is all about. The knowledge is invaluable in my opinion. But go see John and his staff to find out! read more

If you're looking for an EXCELLENT physical therapist look no more!!! John Santos at Pro PT in Mission Viejo is it. It can't get any better than that. Thanks guys read more

This is my second time using ProPT. The whole crew is very professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. They spend time evaluating your ailment and then design a personalized program of recovery for you; checking in with you as time passes to see how your progress in the therapy and on your own is going and what needs work. As you progress they up the intensity and always always change it up which is something I am really bad at in my own workouts. I can't say that physical therapy is fun, but I do know that it is good for you and eventually the hard work pays off with the progress sometimes slowly happening...just remember how you first came in for therapy and where you are now. The guys at PT do their very best to keep it fun and interesting and make the hard work easier to get through. Highly recommended if you need physical healing. read more

Pro PT Physical Therapy - Hard at work in the ProPT gym - Physical Therapy Near Me - Mission Viejo, California

We first came to Pro PT in 2005 when my husband was rehabbing his dislocated shoulder, and again in 2015 for aggravating an old football injury. Now it was my turn to come in after a broken ankle and subsequent surgery. This place is phenomenal. Super clean, very professional, and VERY good at what they do. My surgeon has been blown away with my progress, and John is able to fine tune every part of my recovery, noticing even small gait issues my surgeon missed. The entire staff makes sure I am performing all the exercises correctly and interns collaborate so well with the more seasoned staff that nothing is missed. Gerri is a breath of fresh air at the front desk with a warm smile and genuine concern for you. I will really miss my fun torture time with them when I'm released from therapy soon. :) Highly recommend for some serious knowledge and guided rehabilitation! read more

This is our second time using Pro PT. My son hurt his elbow pitching two years ago and they did a great job. This time he strained a muscle in the pelvis area. As I expected they are helping him make strong recovery and will be back playing in a few weeks. John and his people do a great job, I would recommend them to anyone needing PT. read more

I was suffering big time from a strain to my MCL, begged Jeri (receptionist) to get me in today. She checked with John who slid me in between appointments and took an in depth look at my knee and nailed the cause and effect and started working my rehab. He then turned me over to his assistants, all physical therapists who applied therapy based on John's direction. John understands the pitfalls of lifetime exercise patients, that we over due it and pay the price and ask them to "Just fix it so I can get back to my sport". Thank you John and AJ! read more

I highly recommend this place if you are looking for either physical therapy or personal training. I started with physical therapy for an injury and have been training there ever since. John, the owner, is fabulous. He really knows his stuff. I am 43 and had never worked out prior to coming here. Now, I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have. The staff is super supportive and friendly. I highly recommend it. read more

I have had a litany of issues over the years that have brought me to several different physical therapist offices. Of those, ProPT by far has the best practices and patient consideration. They focus on the idea of whole body health to help not only fix the issue but to prevent future injuries. They are very involved in every step and work hard to ensure they are doing their job to the best of their ability. Their hours are also very flexible and the staff is extremely knowledgable. It is an incredible relief be at an institution where the employees truly care about their jobs and their patients. I am excited to go to each of my appointments and look forward to be able to progress into a pain free life. read more

I could not disagree more with the previous post. John & James are very professional as well as the other staff, Shannon, Carlos, et al. Cara is a medical billing person who just helps out on the floor when it gets busy. I have been going to this facility for over 5 months now for a shoulder injury and have to say, if it weren't for the most excellent staff there, I would not be nearly as far along with my rehab. These folks know what they are doing and have been doing it well for a long time. read more

Very rude staff. I believe they are racist. Both times i asked simple questions and both John and Gerri were appallingly disrespectful. Im sure they are super nice to other patients. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

My experiences with physical therapy have covered 35 years and more therapy offices than I care to remember. I have pursued ones in South O.C. that came with with the highest recommendations. In time, Pro PT was recommended to me, and I am delighted to have found them. Even my husband will go see them -- on his own! We have both recommended them to other appreciative friends. Most important about Pro PT is the knowledge and level of attention that John Santos and James Miller give to the conditions of their patients. By coincidence, my original care was primarily with John, and that continued until my knee replacement. I requested James for my in-home physical therapist because he also works in that arena. That was amazing. I have been highly impressed with both of them. They work wonders! In addition to their professional expertise, they are caring, firm, encouraging and fun! So is their staff, and they hire and train the best. I also remain amazed at the amount of specialized training and supervision they give their staff. We appreciate all of them. read more

After consultation with several medical professionals and no clear solution we determined an interim course of pain management employing Physical Therapy. Considering the limiting factors John developed an alternate approach. The circumscribed course of therapy is providing relief where the prescribed solution at this point is too extreme. John and his staff show exceptional care and attention to detail in their assessment and treatment of patient referrals. Thanks so much John for developing a path and thanks Brett for helping steer. I would recommend ProPT to any patient as a go to resource for Physical Therapy treatments. read more

Dr. Santos and his staff helped me regain what I thought I was never going to have again. I was left with a compound fracture on my wrist after my motorcycle accident that was surgically repaired. My orthopedic believed I would not have full use of my wrist/hand ever again. I started physical therapy and with the help of everyone at Pro PT I regained 99% of my strength and motion back. The entire staff was always friendly and full of energy. It made going to physical therapy something that does not have to be dreaded. I would recommend this to anyone for any type of car needed. read more

Pro PT is a great place to cure your pain. John is the main therapist and he is GREAT. He makes sure that you are pain free and comfortable. The crew is also AMAZING. I've been going to Pro PT for personal training sessions with John Santos for over eight years. He and his staff are very knowledgeable, very professional and make working out fun! He's constantly changing my workouts to keep me in top shape and to keep it interesting. Last April I developed frozen shoulder and started seeing John for physical therapy. This could have been an issue I had for a few years but thankfully with his expertise and lots of hard work, the issue was resolved in a matter of months and I'm good as new. I'm convinced if I had gone elsewhere for therapy that I'd still be recovering. If you're looking for a personal trainer or physical therapy, look no further. I have nothing but most respect and admiration for John and Gerri! My teenage daughter has been a patient of John's twice in less than 6 months for two completely different injuries. The first time was last fall for knee pain that had been previously misdiagnosed. John did an evaluation and was able to give an accurate diagnosis. Within 2 weeks of her 2 month treatment my dancer was dancing pain free! Just 2 weeks ago she was in a minor car accident and suffered from whiplash. She was 3 weeks away from her high school musical, where she is a lead dancer. I was freaked out until I called John! He saw her that day and 5 treatments later, she is "at the edge of the woods" and will be able to perform next week! John has made sure my daughter feels confident within her body and she knows how to take care of herself through at home maintenance. John and his staff make everyone feel welcomed and at home. There's always hard work along with laughter and smiles throughout the clinic. We owe so much to John and his dedication to allow people to live a happy pain free life!! read more

Before receiving physical therapy at Pro PT, I had been dealing with chronic pain and discomfort due to a permanent injury that was becoming a harsh burden to live with after over 2 years, along with my complete inability to sleep. I had to retire from the military and stop participating in hobbies I had previously enjoyed. After receiving treatment here, my pain was lessened, sleep was improved, and my life finally started to lift off of the rock bottom I found myself in. This led to my decision of actually pursuing a career in physical therapy. John Santos went so far as to give me a job as an aide, which helped me to understand the many difficulties of being a physical therapist and running your own business simultaneously. I eventually realized that the toll on my body was too much to bear personally, and I would need to find another way to help people. Physical therapy with John was not an easy path and took a few tough weeks to truly notice the results, but determination, along with John's knowledge, encouragement, and willingness to do anything in his power to help brought me to be in the best physical and mental shape of my entire life. Remarkably, I was even able to start rock climbing, which is something I had previously thought impossible with injuries like winging scapula and a long thoracic nerve palsy. John is not only the most talented, experienced, and intelligent physical therapist I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient of (I am close to being on physical therapist number 10), but he is also one of the most caring individuals I have ever known. It took me 4 previous therapists that failed to help, before I was able to find John and his team of kind and brilliant employees and associates, including James who was required to move on for personal reasons. I would still be coming here years later, if not for a lack of time, resources, and change in location. If you want the best possible treatment and care, or maybe a new outlook on life, you need to find a way to get seen at Pro PT. *Nobody asked me to write this review. I have been receiving poor care recently and was reminiscing about what I used to have before. read more

I 100% highly recommend coming here for your treatment. I was in a car accident where I was rear ended which ultimately lead to me getting a bad case of whiplash. My doctor prescribed PT for my injuries and since I was spending the summer in Mission Viejo with my dad he highly recommended I seek treatment from John at PRO-PT. Both my dad and aunt have gone to him and they were raving about this place. I am absolutely happy with my decision and absolutely refuse to seek treatment in San Diego(where I live most of the time). Every time I come in everyone there treats me like family. The work outs they have me do are the right amount of challenging and the staff member are always there to make sure I have good form and technique to avoid re-injuries. I have noticed amazing progress in my recovery and am getting closer and closer to feeling 100% again. The staff is absolutely amazing and engaging and further help me understand the benefits to each of my work outs. Seriously, 100% recommend Pro PT you will not regret your decision. read more
