I had rotator cuff Sugery in June 2023 and went to Advanced Physical Therapy for PT. They assigned me to Brian Beltran and I couldn't be happier! He was so knowledgeable and knew exactly how to move me along each week. He would massage my tight muscles which worked out all the kinks. Unfortunately, just when I was relaxed the fun was over and he had me do exercises that was needed to move along my progress. My sessions always ended with ice and some sort of electrical therapy which really helped me. I have had PT once before from another company and was totally disappointed. Brian is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and I totally recommend his services. Also, I must mention the front office team who were always so welcoming and able to help with any appointment changes. I just competed my first 6-week round of PT here and all I can say is that Mimi and Ross are absolute godsends. I've been suffering from chronic lower back pain for 8 years, and am unwilling to medicate to mask the pain (despite Dr.'s orders). After 6 weeks I have about half as much pain, and have taken zero drugs (aside from the occasional ibuprofen). Mimi is incredibly intelligent, warm, and I have never met anyone who cares as much about people as she does. I leave feeling not only physically healed, but mentally as well. Ross is just a giant ball of light--it's impossible to have a bad day once you start your workout with him. Again, so warm and caring. While my general experience is limited to these two since I work with them, I can speak to the fact that everyone else at the office is incredibly friendly, from the other therapists who always go out of their way to say hello, to Adriana at the front desk who is very helpful and accommodating with schedules. I'm so thankful to have found this office and looking forward to my continued treatment. PT has become the highlight of my week! read more

After a modestly successful football history I find myself old, arthritic and occasionally in pain. This is in my nearly 40 years of experience the best PT I have received treatment. By far is one of the best physical therapy in orange county. i have been to more than 20 physical therapies last 3years and peter is one of the best. if you go there ask for twin brothers ( peter and Paul). peter has lots of knowledge and passion and intutive feeling for healing. he spends lots of time with patients and make sure to treat the real issue.i went there when i had unsuccessful back surgery after tried many pts and most of them were mediocre and didn't help me. the manual therapy you get from him is unique and can't find anywhere else. also i want to mention that his hand has magical power to heal you.he is so intuitive that he can feel your pain without asking you . he has a gift from God. only area they need to work on Gym area and exercises is not strong as their manual therapy.they need to work on those areas read more

I tore my ACL in late October of 2012 and had reconstructive surgery that following November. I was doing physical therapy up in San Francisco where I go to college and fell off track. I came home for summer and my dad (who also has been a patient here) recommended me to go to Advanced Physical Therapy to get back to strengthening my knee. I made an appointment and Diane was super nice and helpful in getting me in. Carissa has been helping me become stronger and the assistants are awesome as well! I put off going after a back injury, thinking I could manage it myself--after all, I am a retired Physical Therapist. Finally decided there are just some things you need help with. So in a nutshell, the therapists are extremely knowledgeable and well trained. They're committed to continuing education and are up to date with new techniques. I was usually there about 90-120 minutes: gym warm-up/strengthening, followed by e-stim for the muscle spasm, then lots of mobilization and stretching with the PT. A comprehensive home exercise program which--wonder of wonders--works well as long as I actually do it! I worked as a PT for a lot of years, and managed a large Rehab Services dept., and I know good therapy when I see it. So they get five stars! read more

Carissa and this Advanced Physical Therapy office deserve more than 5 stars! I had 2 metal rods implanted almost the whole length of my neck that prevented me from moving it because of pain and stiffness but after my first therapy session with her, I was able to turn my neck, left and right with minimal pain and was then able to drive. Woohoo! She's the best Physical Therapist I have ever had - very caring, goes beyond her 'call of duty' to treat and help you, and very nice, to say the least. And I have been going to PT (and chiropractors) for more than 20 years due to my neck/shoulder and lumbar issues - and this is counting PT's I've been to in NJ, Tampa, FL and SoCal. You know and feel that she's doing her utmost to make you pain free. I have learned different exercises and techniques from her that really helped and that I have not gotten from other Therapists - including the reasons behind these exercises and techniques. She deserves a raise!!!! :) Ryan, Kyle, and Taylor are also very helpful, caring, and warm and makes you feel comfortable - all contributing to a pleasant recovery from surgery. In fact, everybody I saw in that office are friendly and warm, especially Dianne. Would go back to this office if I need more PT. read more

My 80 year old mom was referred here by her pain management doctor for physical therapy gait training to help with her severe pain and mobility issues. She has been going for a few months now, and everything has just been great! All the staff has been very patient, gentle, and are very competent at what they do. I have tried other places out of convenience but they didn't address or treat my issues like this staff. They have trained professionals treating you from start to finish instead of students. I've been a patient for 16 years. Advanced Physical Therapy of Laguna Viejo has seen me through shoulder, knee surgeries and many other problems. I have always experienced some relief of pain on the very first visit. The therapists are very knowledgeable and treat the whole body - if your knee problem is throwing your back out of alignment they treat the back too. The therapists keep my doctors informed of my progress. APT-LV manages insurance and billing so that I never have any concerns. The Active Release and Strain Counter Strain techniques and the exercise program they have developed for me have made a great difference in how I can help myself to continue to improve and maintain the progress I've made. The entire staff is professional, up-to-date on training and works as a team. And while they are all totally professional there is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere between the staff and patients. I have major surgery for cervical repair. When I started physical therapy, I could not move my neck enough to drive. I was also regularly in quite a bit of discomfort. Better said, I was in pain. My experience with Advanced Physical Therapy was stellar. From the very moment I contacted them and throughout my 7 weeks of physical therapy, everything was done professionally. The staff is warm, caring and I felt, had a genuine interest in improving my mobility and my post surgery life. Dr. Kearns was a blessing to work with. His knowledge and still raised my ability to function normally. I can now drive, turn my head from side to side and so much more. Paul is the very best and has helped me understand my chronic stenosis, lower lumbar disk degeneration, hip, upper leg pain, etc.. Being educated about my condition(s), with some humor added, helps me going forward to cope with my situation. I have been to several physical therapy centers. But no one will beat Justin. I was referred by my neurologist due to the bad head aches I had been suffering. I started going thinking it wouldn't help too much, but I am extremely happy to say that I am head ache free. I can't tell you how much help Justin has been with my headaches. I have several auto immune conditions and am very careful who I let treat me. The slightest thing can put me in a flare up. Justin was fantastic. I didn't have any flare ups in my neck as I thought I would. I am going back again for another joint issue that I am having. If you want to be pain free go to Advanced Physical Therapy. They are all awesome! The staff is awesome. Diane was and is extremely helpful in getting me and and working around my schedule. They are very understanding and helpful. My father and mother have been coming to Advanced Physical Therapy since January 2013. APT has helped them recover from lower back surgery, shoulder repair surgery and two knee replacement surgeries. I've spent many hours waiting for my parents and noticed that they get a lot of repeat business. The people working at APT are comfortable with each other and tight knit like a family and returning patients are treated like extended family. I've seen injured high school athletes to seniors receiving care at APT but I would guess that seniors are the majority of patients. The physical therapists and aides are very competent and skilled at diagnosing the problem and healing the body. APT is our family's first choice for our physical therapy needs. read more

I went to Advanced Physical Therapy of Laguna Viejo after my second knee surgery. My progress has amazed me. My knee feels better than it did before the first injury five years ago. The staff has extraordinary knowledge and expertise and built the perfect program for me to recover. I believe that if they had provided my physical therapy after the initial injury I would not have re-injured it and needed the second surgery. I no longer fear that my knee will give out, or that I must restrict my activities. I thought I would go through the rest of my life not trusting my knee. I trust it now! My neurologist sent me here for physical therapy because of what the MRI image has shown. I am kind of scared because I did not know what to expect about my nerve and spine ... and I do not even have severe pain make it even more scary. I just have some chronic back pain which is unrelated. The therapist, Mimi Ton, is so nice and knowledgeable. Not only did she take my fear away, she has helped me to understand my body and back issues. She spent a lot of time to understand my condition and issues during the first visit with some treatments. 2nd and 3rd visits have been warm up, muscle strengthening and stretches etc. She has shown and taught me how to do the stretches on my own at home. So, later on, after the therapy has completed, I can be independent to do what is necessary myself. After 3 visits, I can feel my chronic pain is not there anymore. I am a small business owner and I am very intuitive on how other business has operated. My experience is they put their patient's interest ahead of business. Very honorable and honest practice! They are truly professional and the staff there are very nice and courteous. I will recommend this place for others who need physical therapy. I actually have told a friend already! read more
