They make you an exam of the problem you have, and based on that, they give exercises according to what you need. Horrible amateur service. There is one physical therapist named Jake there that owns the place. It seems, and the people he has working under him are less than mediocre. One assistant was told to work on me and carelessly showed me stretches and had to repeatedly be shown over again by the one in charge again less than amateur working for the main person. The assistant helping me approach was not empathetic, and everything that was explained to me was spoken in a way that I was supposed to already know what he was talking about. I did not feel cared for, and when putting laser on my shoulder, which I did not ask for or was not explained to the process he just sat me down and put it on my arm with without even explaining to me what it was and completely burned my arm and did not even laser in the ball in socket that I had problems with. My entire arm is burnt and I'm contacting insurance for malpractice. I do not recommend this place and I highly recommend you do your research before contacting this company. Thank you. read more

I don't have much experience with physical therapy but the one group of sessions I had last year were disappointing. Everyone I knew had much better experiences. After my hip replacement the Doctors office found a PT closer to my home. But the surprise was; it was so much better than my previous experiences. The attention I get from the staff and the knowledgeable answers to my questions are wonderful. I'm considering continuing PT with Full Motion after the allotted sessions are finished. I can't thank Josh enough for the level of care and guidance I have received from him for over a year now. The healing of my ankle and knee have been quite a long process, but Josh never gave up hope and was always willing to try something new. His recommendation to use a laser on my ankle injury has saved me so much pain and has allowed me to stretch my leg in ways to give it a better range of motion. He diligently has been breaking up the scar tissue as well with a graston knife, while having me practice exercises and stretches to regain my balance and get my kinetic chain back in sync with the rest of my body. Six years ago, I suffered a bilateral quad and patella rupture. After surgery, I spent nearly 6 months in a wheelchair, not getting up once on my own. The facility has a full portfolio or treatments for either condition. I would have to say that my recovery from these problems have been helped a lot thanks to Full Motion and Jake. You might have to take your care into your own hands and not just take it for granted that they know what they're doing. They gave me a home exercise program, of which I performed multiple times at home. I later got a call from the therapist saying to stop doing the prescribed exercises. He had not read the written protocol I had given to him from my surgeon. The day after the initial visit, I had done multiple sessions of the home exercise program. The therapist called and over the phone changed my home exercise program to something less aggressive. Very unprofessional, and no attention to detail. read more

BE CAREFUL! They charge double! I don't know how long they are doing this to their patients, but it is awful! If I didn't call my insurance company to find out about my copay(my physical therapy's copay is $30) they kept charging me $60! Even I told them that my copay is $30, they told me a terrible excuse. They said my copay is $60, but they can offer me some special discount and my copay can be $35. WRONG!!! I was upset and called my insurance company again. My insurance company called the physical therapy office and talked to the owner. They are supposed to refund $30, but I haven't received it yet. I just want to let all the patients know that you should be very careful about your bill. They might charge more especially this time. I know the business is really slow, but they shouldn't charge double. I will never go there again! read more

I came here for a neck injury caused from a car accident and that subsequently continued with the neck pain discomfort/ pain after working. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgable. Jacob was the inital PT point person and was very helpful with addressing my issues. Mark was the assistant PT point person who was also excellent. Bobby and rodney were also stellar. Jennifer the staff receptionist was always inviting and friendly with appointments And overall this place is a great place to come and get needs met. After I was rear-ended on the 91 freeway, my primary care physician referred me to Jake Gleason and the team at Full Motion Physical Therapy. After a comprehensive exam, Jake prescribed me a course of treatment at the facility as well as at home that started to provide me relief in just a few short weeks. They take their time and do things right at this facility. After 9 weeks, I can honestly say that I would not be in the position I am if it had not been for the great team over at Full Motion Physical Therapy. Starting with Jennifer at the front desk, the physical therapy staff and specifically Jake Gleason MPT OCS, our orthopedic clinical specialist, the place is filled with professionalism, good will, and true care for patients. Our physical therapist at the San Clemente office called in sick, and our appointment was going to be cancelled, however my 90 year old father was ready and we didn't want to disappoint him so we asked if we could get the appointment anyway at the SJC office; Jen and the amazing staff at the SJC office were able to accommodate us and to keep the appointment. I'm very confused by the positive reviews. I brought my son here about five times for a throwing injury. I REALLY wanted to like it because it was five minutes from my house and insurance covered it. I found it to be one of those very typical large PT facilities that moves the herd of patients through, very little personal attention and focus. You go to a table, they have you do an exercise or ice, stim, etc--and come back in 15 minutes. Even our orthopedic agreed that if you want a "real" physical therapist, that's not the place. That's what you get for HMO insurance. There is no comparison the PT my son gets now. (Btw the therapist was not recommended or known by the ortho.) read more

I had my left hip replaced on 9/1/11 and after 4 in house visits by a physical therapist, I moved on to outpatient physical therapy. Fortunately for me, my insurance was accepted at nearby FreeMotion Physical Therapy. I have had 5 appointments - including 3 (M-W-F) last week. These guys do not miss a thing! Led by the more than capable physical therapist Cary Costa, the FreeMotion Team is very professional and really putting me through the paces. Every appointment has blended more and more on point hip therapy exercises with stretching and laser therapy on my incision. These appointments are really productive. There is no rush and you never feel like "just a number". You are monitored and asked how you are doing and feeling numerous times by the various team members. I feel pushed in a very healthy way, and my hip is much stronger and flexible in just the last 12 days. You are in the hands of professional team members at FreeMotion Physical Therapy. They have both the knowledge and equipment to manage your therapy and bring back your strength and well being. I have been going to Physical Therapy for over 20 years everytime I get a new injury or my chronic conditions flare up . Of all the PT's I have been to THIS one is the BEST EVER. The staff is professional and efficient. Jake is hands on the most knowledgeable I have met regarding the whole spectrum of injuries. I highly recommend them and I am so blessed to have found them only 5 minutes from my house. The receptionist is caring and always helpful. The assistant ( Victoria ) has experience in sports injuries and has another vast knowledge of the body. I watch the other physical therapists work on other people and they are caring and professional. The atmosphere is " healing " and " caring " with a little fun thrown in because " laughter " is the best medicine . My Yelp reviews up to this point have all been about excellence. So to write anything negative is extremely out of character for me. I first went to Full Motion in San Juan recently and had Jake who runs this facility as my therapist. He seemed professional in the beginning but that all ended very soon.....apparently anyone who had my kind of insurance really rubbed him the wrong way....and for the next 5-10 minutes I had to listen to him go on in detail of how he only got 150 dollars for the first visit and only 10 dollars for every visit after that. I have a serious neck issue and that suddenly was thrown on the far back burner it seemed. He let me know in no uncertain terms that people with my insurance just weren't worth it to him. In shock that a person in his position would actually talk to a first time customer in that matter- I asked him "So every time I come in here for therapy you will look at me as the 10 buck patient??" How sad I thought.... So... I go back for my second appt. a week later and had Derrick as my therapist. I thought surely he would be different and at first he seemed like he would be. I have to say he is good at what he does but shortly after we started he too began to voice his disdain with my insurance and it absolutely showed in his attitude and lack of vigor to take care of me. The third time I went, he wanted to just ice me and do a little something else that you usually don't do till the very end of the session! I commented on this and then he had me do a few stretches I think. I have been working in customer service for decades and I have Never seen anything like this...ever. To be fair the gals who work there all seemed really nice and kind and they have a gem in Jennifer who works at the front desk-she is a good listener and always pleasant. Also Bobby seemed really upbeat with customers- I actually asked if he could work with me but I was told he was only an aid. I had an appt. with Jake( wasn't looking forward to it...) today and as I was waiting...over 15 minutes at this point I couldn't even get eye contact with him. I finally commented nicely that they must be behind today and he said yes people were missing. To my shock he called someone to go ahead of me and didn't even look at me to say that he would be with me shortly or any professional statement at all....after all I was only a 10 bucker right?? My point is......If you are going through a difficult season in your life and you are relying on a less prestigious health care for the time being....whatever you do do not go to this facility...you truly will be treated like not only a second class citizen but a second class human being.....Please forgive me for writing such a sad review but since I've had almost 1,800 people read my reviews in the last 90 days I feel I owe it to them to give a heads up just in case. Four months ago a ruptured my Achilles' tendon and had surgery to repair it. For the past two months Jake and his expert staff have performed their magic which has allowed me to get back to activities I desperately need and love. Last week I played two sets of tennis (although not at full speed) and today I went on a 20 mile bike ride. The care at Free Motion Physical Therapy is beyond any I have experienced at other physical therapists places. Being an athlete, I have had a handful of physical therapists rehab one part or other of my body through the years. I'm very glad for the great help I receive at Full Motion Physical Therapy....and especially for the patience and understanding of Kaitlyn who is continually having to re-adjust my stretches and exercises to work around all my physical quirks. She's an absolute delight with her beautiful smile and positive energy. I'm also impressed with all the helpful gadgets they're having me use to improve my results. It surprises me to see all these new things because I've had a LOT of physical therapy over the years and yet at each visit at FMPT they teach me something new. One of the most amazing pieces of equipment is the anti-gravity treadmill. Wow! People with lower body problems will definitely want to try this. Another gadget (which I ended up purchasing for only $20) is for me to use at home when my neck is aggravated and I have to lay down flat. They are glasses that allow a person to read at a 90 degree angle. What a kick! I love them. I can even watch TV while lying down with my head flat.
