That means I'm comfortable telling you, I know a few things about the industry and their dirty little secrets... I did my due diligence on both James and Chafika (the owners) before I decided to even consider getting involved with them. FYI, I've turned into quite an ambassador for both them and the people that work in their company. 2 things really stood out for me. One - They take what they do very seriously (they work hard and excel at doing a great job). Two - They like to help people. *IMO, that's a perfect combination, especially in this industry. I've looked hard at their before and after pictures (on their site) to compare them against other jobs I've seen. The verdict? They walk their talk. I have one BIG REGRET... I wish I was in their service territory because I would feel very comfortable and safe having them take care of any issues I had. FYI - I've had basement floods, sewage issues, and mold problems so I've been "knee-deep" in it and I know what a mess it can be. BTW - not all my reviews on Yelp or elsewhere are as "glowing" as this one is. You can look me up if you'd like ;-) Full Exposure: I am an outside vendor of theirs and have worked with them for a while so when I recommend them I do it based on my experiences with them. At the end of the day, you need to trust the people you hire to do a good job (it can get really messy fast), and based on my experiences with them, I can't recommend them enough.

After repeated calls and texts over 19 months this sub contractor finally came out to fix it. Darryl Sparkman replaced 2 parts (and didn't think these or the labor should be covered under a warranty). The next time I used the fireplace I noticed that one of the ceramic logs was broken, most of the logs were not placed back in the correct positions and the flames were blue (gas not adjusted correctly). I asked him to come back to fix these issues on Sept 25, 2016, he has told me twice that he could come out to fix these issues but as of today Oct 25, 2016 he has not been here to fix anything. I would not recommend doing any business with Sparkmaster Mechanical or Darryl Sparkman.

He quoted some thermostats to which he had added a 200% mark up. Presumably to discover I was dumb enough to bite. Why 200% markup on material? I wonder what his labor or hourly would have been? When I called out the material mark up he told me do it myself. Be wary of anyone who unashamedly tries to rip you off like this . Probably some underlying ethical deficiencies as well.
