Too expensive, and there's a catch. I called Pro-core to fix my small self-propelled mower. I already knew what the problem was before they came -- needed a new drive belt (and of course told them on the phone before they came). But their process is, we come and inspect, charge you $66 to look at it, and if you have them repair it, they reduce your bill by $66. Fine, although again, I already knew the problem, so this whole first step was unnecessary. He comes, charges us $66 to tell me what I already know, then they send an estimate for repairs -- and this is where they get you. In the estimate (total of $259 minus the $66), they charge you for a "Regular service" which is $129 (which includes, among other things, blade sharpen, oil change, fuel filter, adjust height, remove debris, etc). I didn't need any of that -- only the $60 Belt install and $20 belt (all itemized on estimate) -- but the owner says he can't do it without charging the $129 as well (very unclear why). Additionally, like any "good" mechanic, they find problems you didn't ask about like telling me I need a new blade (another $40), despite again, paying $129 for blade sharpening. Bottom line, they got me for $66 for doing absolutely nothing but telling me what I already knew. Goes without saying, I wouldn't use this service. Try to find a smaller repairman that doesn't require a service visit/charge unless you truly don't know what's wrong with your mower. read more

i needed a service provided to take care of my yard equipment - push mower, riding mower and likely will call them for my generator and snow blower in a couple of months. Will and Eli were awesome, took care of what I needed and followed up with all services. Folks may complain that they aren't able to schedule exactly on dates, requested - but their process is very straightforward and they are timely in when the are supposed to be there for a scheduled service. There was an issue with the replacement belt - exactly the belt the model of my mower needed, but it ended up being to tight; Will went the distance to find another belt and also took the time to show me what having bad fuel would do to my equipment. Not only did he take care of the equipment, he offered much more than I expected in terms of service and care. Disregard the negative write ups I'm seeing on this business - you need to have reasonable expectations and understand the nature of how servicing works. You may be able to find someone to do it cheaper, but cheaper isn't always better. read more

Re-arranged my work schedule to make this happen. Just absolutely unacceptable especially when this business has a receptionist. A real rip off! Two men arrived to repair my riding mower. They spent less than 10 minutes pulling out the spark plug and looking at the engine. They said the engine was no good. That was it! Nothing else! They wanted $125 for their time - I settled for $100 after some arguing. That works out to $600 per hour. I had someone else look at the engine and they will repair for $200. Called on a Saturday to set up a time to get my lawn equipment serviced(mower, weeder and blower) and was asked to text the gentlemen my name, address and requested service and he would contact me within 24 hours. That was almost a week ago and he never called or texted me back. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere it's wanted. read more

Great experience with Pro-Core from start to finish!!! My previous experiences with small engine repair shops have been disappointing, but that's definitely not the case at Pro-Core! Based on the shops that I have visited in the past, I was totally expecting to show up at some guy's house where he works on small engines out of his shed or garage in his spare time. However I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Pro-Core is located in a legitimate business park with a very clean and professional appearance. As soon as I arrived, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly gentleman named Will who turned out to be the owner of Pro-Core. After a few minutes of me stumbling through my explanation of the issues with my riding lawn mower, Will went right into diagnosing the problems and provided me with a few of the common causes and solutions for the issues at hand. By this point, I was very impressed with his knowledge and the professional/secure environment of his business, so I decided to leave my mower with him so that he could get to the bottom of the problems. The diagnostic fee was very reasonable compared to other shops in the area and honestly, I would have paid twice as much as he charged me just because I knew my very expensive piece of equipment would be in a secure building and not left outside or in an unsecured shed. Just a couple of days after dropping off my mower, I received a call from Pro-Core letting me know that they had evaluated the issues and isolated the problems. At this point I was expecting to get hit with a big bill for the repairs, but surprisingly the bill was much lower than I imagined it would be and they had the parts in stock to begin work right away. All in all, you just don't get this type of service many places these days. So, if you need any type of small engine repair, maintenance or winterization, do yourself a favor and make Pro-Core your first call. Our Craftsman tractor has been down since April for an oil leak. Sears guy said the block was cracked. Ordered a new motor- wrong one, ordered again, wrong one again. I stepped in and got the correct one. Then Sears blew off 2 appts in a row, these were the 4th and 5th ones, tractor partially disassembled, now August and disgusted. Found these guys, called Will, they came on time and successfully installed the new motor in 2 hrs for a fair price. Great job. Sears is dead to me now. read more

I called them when the transmission cable on my snow thrower snapped. It is way too big to fit in my car. Will came out took a look at it, gave me a very reasonable estimate to get it ready for winter and loaded it on to a trailer. They had replaced the cable, fine tuned the engine and had it back to me in a few days. The price to pick up my snow thrower and bring it back was very reasonable as well. Will even went over some tips to better store my snow thrower after winter is over. These are very nice folks doing a great job! Superb service form Pro-Core. Both Dave and Will were very responsive and made my used Craftsman Power-washer run like new. It had been neglected for years by one of my neighbors who offered it up for free with a casual "if you can get it to work". Pro-core was reasonably priced and worked quickly to get it working again. I got it home and about a month later, I accidentally snapped off the hose connector. I took a couple pictures and sent it to them. Dave responded within hours (well after work hours) and suggested I bring it back in. They repaired it for minimal cost. I'll definitely use them again! read more
