I once had a house cleaner show up, hoping for a nice, once a year, thorough cleaning. She cleaned with one hand, while talking on her phone with the other. Why am I telling you this? Maybe just to illustrate that the old axiom "It's tough to find good help these days," is alive and well on the Space Coast. Or maybe I just want to draw a contrast between crappy service and the incredible 5-star service I've been getting from Space Coast Pools. I think this guy deserves at least 3 stars just for showing up when he says he will and for being communicative beyond what I expected. He earned the other 2 after the fact. I first called Space Coast Pools, and several other Pool Maintenance companies, all of whom I had to leave messages for. (Understood in that I called during the day, when I'm sure they were busy working.) Brandon called me back within an hour. Only one other company even called me back at all and that was several days later. When I ended my call with Space Coast Pools, Brandon thanked me for "the opportunity to 'earn' his business." I think my heart skipped a beat. On our initial meeting my pool looked like a FROG SWAMP. It would not have surprised to see an alligator. Brandon didn't hesitate. He added some things to my pool (without any kind of agreement or contract), gave me a good quote for service and promised to be back Tuesday (it was Saturday) to inspect his work and continue service. Again he thanked me for "the opportunity to 'earn' his business." The very next day our pool was gorgeous. Since then, the pool has never been less than crystal clear and inviting. Plus Brandon remains punctual, polite, and communicative beyond expectation. The only reason I would ever stop using Space Coast Pools is if I die or move to a house without a pool. We had them for about 4 months. We just had our pool pump replaced before signing up with them…read more So naturally, our pool needed some TLC to get back to normal. They seemed very nice initially. However, after the first couple week's service our pool water started to turn for the worse again. The technician thought it was because we were using well water, which we were not! It was because our pool pump had been broken for the past month before they started. So OK, fine, they come back and fix it. Then, we start getting very rudely worded letters attached to our front door to leave our creepy crawler in the pool, after I explicitly requested that they can put it in or take it out at their leisure. Our cleaning day was Mondays, and we would swim on the weekends, so we would take out the creepy crawler and leave it out for them to put it back in on Monday when they came to clean the pool. This enraged the technician for some reason. The last straw was he forgot to secure the child safety gate around our pool, which is extremely dangerous since we have a 3 year old at the house! My previous pool service had no issues with our pool or with the simple requests to make sure the gates are secure before leaving. Reith was very nice and professional initially and usually responded promptly to any requests. However, when I notified her we were cancelling, she didn't return my calls and responded unprofessionally in her emails.

Immediately, we took a personal liking to both Reith and her husband Kyle as they came out personally to teach out how to do the pool thing. While we are not regular weekly customers of Ohana Pool Services, we do call on them every couple of months for a check up or extra help if we find ourselves in a situation that we aren't quite familiar with yet. They are always quick to respond and amazing with getting us into their already hectic schedule. The communication level with Reith is outstanding, and all of the service techs we have met have been incredibly polite and knowledgeable. This family owned business is fantastic on many levels and I would recommend their services handsdown.
