My husband and I have been taking our time remodeling our home and it was finally time to tackle…read morethe master bathroom. We wanted to make our shower bigger and replace our built-in tub for a stand alone tub. We contacted 3 companies for an estimate. One contractor flaked and called the morning of the appointment saying he couldn't make it. He suggested we do a zoom consultation. When I asked how he would get the measurements, he said it was "just" a bathroom and he didn't intend on doing sketches anyways. His condescension made me cancel everything with him. The second contractors was nice, but had a high estimate, then suggested we purchase low end materials to save on the cost. He gave us the estimate right away, then pressured us to accept it right then. He offered a $1K discount if we agreed before he left, but what's $1K on a $32K price tag,so we told him we had 1 more contractor to meet with. And then there was Mr. Luis. He came in with a smile, removed his shoes and actually listened to all my concerns about my current bathroom and my dreams about my future one. He took his measurements and then repeated back the things I said I really wanted. There was no pressure and he said he would contact me in a few days with an estimate. It took him about 4 days to get back to me. Not only was his estimate significantly less, but it also came with a computer generated rendition of my bathroom space from multiple angles. I had sent him some tile patterns I liked, and he had them in the image, so I could really visualize my new bathroom. He did the rendition 2 more times with different tile patterns I sent him to help me choose the one I really liked. I also want to note that he could've easily charged more because I told him I thought it was going to cost $40K when he came to do the estimate, but he still gave me his honest price. We set a date for work to start after I paid a 33% deposit. His team, led by Mr. Wilson, were punctual and really respected my home. They draped wherever they needed to walk and they walled off my bedroom with plastic so dust and debris wouldn't get all over my living space. Mr. Wilson answered all my questions and kept me updated on everything being done each day. He assisted me in buying some of my products. His team kept everything very tidy when they left each day. He was a dream from start to finish. The 2nd deposit was due when the tile install began. Mr. Carlos did all of the tiling himself. He gave his professional opinion about the tile I chose for the shower floor, which led me to use the same tile as the shower walls and honestly, I like it better. The bathroom was completed in 2 weeks. The last deposit is due upon completion. When all the work was done, they polished and cleaned the entire bathroom AND several surfaces in my bedroom. They wiped down and dusted the TV stand and fireplace (both in the sitting area outside of the bathroom). They had only gotten a small amount of dust on them from the construction, so I just planned to dust when they were finished, but they did it for me without me asking. They also wiped down the bannister as they exited. As a mom of 3 kids under 5, I appreciated that more than they know. I've had people work in my house before who were neat, but I have never had a team clean up after themselves as thoroughly as this one. I'd also like to mention his office manager, Ms. Gigi, handled the administrative side seamlessly. She also answered all of my emails promptly. I absolutely LOVE my new bathroom and I will definitely use them for projects in the future. Anyone looking for honest and skillful contractors should use this company.

H&C construction has been my go to contractor for my last two large renovation projects. The most…read morerecent was a full bathroom teardown and renovation and we are thrilled with the results. The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. All in all, I highly recommend them and they will be my first call next time I have a project!

Their work ethic was matched only by their incredible attention to detail, the quality of the finishing throughout the entire space is top-notch. I was told there was a cancellation fee, which I wasn't told about when making the appointment. The person on the phone said it was in the email that was sent to me, but I didn't receive an email. When I told them this they told me they always tell people about the cancellation fee and when I told them they were being rude they told me the call was being recorded like that wasn't going to reflect poorly on her. I hope this company listens to that recording and corrects their terrible customer service.

Yitzi and his crew are phenomenal…read more I needed a steam boiler system replaced which was past its expiration date by at least 20 years. I had been watching it limp along the last 3 years and my home warranty company has sent out at least 5 different companies that each deserve their own separate ring at the circus... they've never repaired anything and we have been using YouTube to DIY the necessary repairs until now. The big 3 in this area won't even touch the system. The cast iron tub finally cracked and it was beyond repair back in March. The home warranty company could not find anyone to fix it. I finally found three companies that claimed to know anything about steam systems in July and got quotes from each. The take away right now is that I could spot someone that knows what they're doing with a steam system before they cross over the threshold. Yitzi does! It took a while to locate the right parts and get the people scheduled, but I can finally say I have a working system. I believe they would have installed it faster if I needed them to, but I was trying to be conscientious of their schedule and the weather (I didn't NEED a boiler in July...) This was a multiple day job. The old system was a monster and the new system is not much smaller. They also had to change out some other equipment because the entire system was over 40 years old. They have been all over my house and crap needed to be moved everywhere. They broke the job down into pieces that were manageable and would be the least disruptive to my life. Do I still need to dust the house after they leave? Yes. They pulled a 40 year old unit the size of a car out of my basement, dust is in the air and everywhere. It would be unreasonable to think they would catch everything. But they spread out construction paper on the floors, swept and wiped down on all surfaces when they left. They cleaned up each day (even when I told them they didn't need to). Its a small business so I didnt expect an immediate call back, but they have been responsive to calls at the end of each day. The entire team has been super polite. Again, I've seen quotes for this work from multiple companies. They were very reasonably priced. They were not as cheap as the companies the Home Warranty place sent (but one company never showed up and the other I wouldn't trust to babysit a Barbie doll, so....) I feel as though the quality of work performed was top notch for the price and I would hire them again in a heart beat. I wish they worked on AC systems as well, but I will certainly use them for any plumbing/heat system needs. I'm also making sure the number for their business goes with the house if I ever sell it, they were a great find!

Very happy that I found Jamie. I am the kind of person who…read moredoes not rush into anything with purchasing and do a ton of research. Needed a full replacement for an old roof, met with many different companies, big and small, each came with their own pros and cons. In the end for us it came down to a few things, Jamie never did any sales pitch, just said this is what I can do, he informs and shows you the materials you decide the materials and he advises on the materials. Other companies want to sit down and do a whole dog and pony show, some people want this, I don't need the sales pitch. A few companies quotes were just crazy to the point where I could have the roof done twice for the price they quoted. The big companies end up hiring people like Jamie and his crew to do the work so you pay for the middle man services which for sure can be comforting in many ways, but you pay for it. I ended up picking Jamie, because of his honesty being upfront, and extremely reasonable quote. In the end Jamie and his crew did an excellent job. I am sure the roof will hold up nicely and am confident, if there ever is an issue in the near future Jamie will definitely take care of it. Through this process he never rushed us and was honest letting us know that it is best to redo the roof based on certain weather conditions etc, it was never about him rushing us to get the check. All the companies will give you a quote and then will let you know that it includes a certain number of plywood pieces and then any additional pieces of plywood you will pay for. Jamie was great at making sure to only replace ones that really needed to be replaced with diligence like it was his own money in the project. He makes sure to take pictures form each day of work. You can tell he is someone who takes pride in the work he does and he is always there on the site with his crew. From my experience one bit of advice for anyone is do your research on the materials etc and then of course the contractor you pick is the most important thing. Always happy to support a small local community business. No one recommended Jamie to me, I just researched and found his company on YELP. It is stressful, expensive and a big project to have a roof redone and I can safely say if you pick Jamie and his company you get a great job done at a fair price!!!
