Reached out to them as my wife and I are interested in remodeling both of our bathrooms and had received several recommendations so I was interesting in talking with them. Since I had already done demo on the guest, I had a framework of a layout for the guest and master baths and shared that with Glickman. Doug and Tim (I think was his name?) met with my wife and I, looked over the space, talked with us, gave us their approach, how this would work, etc. Tim presented some potential alternatives that were interesting but that would greatly increase the scope of the remodel. Both gentlemen were very professional and polite but the conversation circled back to budget several times and the numbers that they were referencing were quite a bit higher than the range that we were thinking, which at time, I thought, 'ok, I am completely off the mark?'. After some discussion with my wife, we decided that we wanted to make a slight change to the master bathroom layout so I sent Doug the updated drawing for the framework that we were thinking. This was on a Monday. Fast forward to the following Wednesday (9 days later), I finally hear back from Doug saying that Glickman will have to pass as: "We don't think you would be happy with how this would look" "We don't want you to have buyer's remorse" "You wouldn't be happy with a smaller tub" It's every business' right to pass on work, I have no problems with that but it's the manner in which this was communicated by telling me how I would feel. If you are THAT worried about how I would feel, perhaps propose some alternatives? Especially since I repeatedly stated that it was a design framework and I didn't know if it would even work? Or perhaps just say "We don't think we can give you what you are looking for". Also, with regards to the budget numbers, I've now spoken to 6 different remodelers, the numbers that Glickman were throwing out are still 30% higher than the next highest number. And these other remodelers are reputable design/build establishments. It's possible that the numbers I'm getting are deceiving so will have to see how it all pans out. If Glickman is focused on higher end, higher budget work, then that's perfectly ok but make that clear at the start.

From the sounds of things you already have more than plenty of contractors tied up in spoiling you with quotes but no work. Says more about you than Glickman Design as one to three quotes is the norm but seven. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!! :( As the owner of a small firm, I can understand why this gentleman didn't want to waste his time. I wouldn't waste mine either. I have a very large project that I would like to get underway soon and the only firm in sight for us....Is Glickman Design Build as their work literally speaks for itself!

Scott, the owner, is an ex-Marine, and after receiving several personal recommendations from friends who had used him for much bigger projects, we felt confident in our decision. The estimators and project managers were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. One thing that really set Abode apart was the itemized breakdown of costs, unlike other contractors who gave flat quotes with no explanation. They weren't the most expensive option we looked at, but they also weren't the cheapest. We felt that, based on the quality of work and the transparency in their pricing, their pricing was fair and reasonable. We received cheaper quotes, but they lacked the detail and professionalism that Abode provided. In the end, we felt we got excellent value for what we paid. The house was built in the '80s, and the bathroom had never been updated, so we knew we might run into some surprises. But Scott and his team were great at walking us through the entire renovation, keeping everything clear and transparent from start to finish. I was able to manage the project from a distance while they worked closely with my parents, ensuring everything was just right. They installed features like grab bars and a curbless shower to make the space safe and accessible, all while maintaining a stylish and modern look. In the end, the bathroom is not only safe and functional, but it's also beautiful. My parents--who are in their 80s--are thrilled with the transformation, and the updates will allow them to stay in their home longer. We hired Abode Construction to build us a new half bathroom and to redo our entryway. They were…read moreextraordinarily slow and disorganized in how they worked; they often went for weeks without communicating with us; and they refused to honor all of the parts of the contract that we all signed. It took them over a year and a half to complete a half bathroom/entryway. We met in person over the summer, but completing the estimate took them 4 months. It took an additional 6 months for them to get a county permit and start working, and then another 9 months to get the project mostly finished. Getting responses to calls, texts, or emails was very difficult. The only time I was sure I'd hear from the company was when it was time for them to collect a payment. Otherwise, it was common to wait for a week before hearing back from the either the lead contractor or the guy who did most of the work. At the end of the project there was still one task to do (swap out two window panes) and the contractor told us that it was not possible. The first window company I called said it was easy. The contractor refused to refund us the money for that task even though it was in the contract. We are owed over a thousand dollars and it appears that we will never see that money. To be fair, the work itself appears to have been done well enough, but Abode's lack of planning, communication and fairness would make us run from ever hiring them again.

Dan and his team at Top Remodeling helped me repair my shower. My previous contractor messed up my…read morebathroom remodeling and there was an issue with water leaking to my downstairs neighbor. It was stressful to have to redo my shower, but the results are worth it. They made my shower even better than before and made sure things were done right. I wish I went with this contractor in the first place. Also, Freddy, who did a lot of the work at my house was really nice and good at communicating with me, which I appreciated. Overall, I would trust this company for future projects.

I fired this company. Based on my experience, I cannot ever recommend them…read more One of my biggest concerns involved the flooring. The understanding was that the existing wood flooring would be removed so the new tile assembly would be installed over the subfloor. Instead, the existing wood floor remained in place and cement backer board and tile were installed over it. When I questioned this, I was told it was installed on the subfloor, this is not true. Then they told me that the original hardwood floor was the subfloor, this is also not true. I also experienced multiple issues with the tile installation. A cracked tile was installed even though I had replacement tiles available. When I raised the issue, they blamed me for not physically handing the installer the tiles because they didnt know where they were located. Which is ridiculous considering they were installing the tiles and know exactly where they are located. Later, additional tiles were damaged with a large circular cut that required further replacement. The checkerboard tile pattern was also installed incorrectly during part of the project. The wallpaper installation was another major concern. The wallpaper pattern was not aligned between panels. After I pointed this out, I was told the installers were not experienced with wallpaper installation and normally performed other types of work. The wallpaper was eventually removed, but I was informed that I would need to purchase replacement wallpaper because the original material had been discarded. They dumped their bucket of materials into my garden, caught on my security camera. During the entire process, I repeatably dismissed by rude workers and disappointed by what I viewed as repeated workmanship issues, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when I raised concerns. After I informed the company that I wished to end the project, the work area was left with construction debris and dust that I had to clean myself. They left all of the demo garbage in my garage and in my garden. If you meet either Gal, Tal (Tyler) or Priscilla Winters, I would personally recommend to run away. This review reflects my personal experience with this project.

He was reachable by text or phone during almost all hours of the day. I am extremely pleased with the final product. Like almost all major projects, we encountered numerous hiccups but Sam always had an answer and did so with us in mind. It is currently raining in my half-bath because I've been asking them since August 2020 to fix the leak they created when replacing the house trim. (A job that they had to be pestered to finish, that left black paint on the rest of my house that they just tried to cover with the existing lighter paint, and the trim is already showing damage.)

He was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable about the roofing shingles he installs (Owens Corning) and very detailed on his installation procedures and how he backs his workmanship and his future availability to respond to any questions or problems. Problem is, once he completed our roof installation, he collected his check and despite my numerous attempts to contact him via telephone and email, he has completely ghosted us. The reason I needed to follow up with him is there are three elements of our contract he has yet to complete. My fault, I know better but I paid him before all the work was completed. Part of the contract was his obligation to file our warranty with Owens Corning. I called Owens Corning and they have no record of Jason filing the paperwork. I believe his roofing crew did a good job on my roof installation, but I'm very disappointed that he walked away without completing all elements of our contract and now refuses to return my calls or respond to my emails. I will also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
