Owned and operated by the people who run Twin Shores next door, this little building has a tiny, crowded bar with one table, and several outdoor tables. The outside of Brittain House may not impress; next door the home has a football goal post in the back yard. The parking lot is gravel. Then you walk inside, and it's like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz opening her door to a technicolor dream in Munchkinland. The bar is decorative; the mixologist is an expert. Our group of five was seated about a half-hour after we arrived. We were okay with this; we enjoyed the relaxing environment of the bar. I ordered what might have been the BEST prime rib I've ever had, and I've had a lot of prime rib over the years. I don't toss compliments around easily, and Waupun doesn't have many dining choices. And even if they did, I think Brittain House is truly a hidden gem.

So I mean it when I say this is the best coffee shop I've ever been to. It quaint, and comfortable. I especially love getting a coffee and sitting by the fireside. The coffee is excellent and better than it should be. Plus you can just tell that this place has created an atmosphere and service that the community loves. I love visiting this coffee shop every Christmas time.
