We invaded the Press Box on a Saturday afternoon with our 5th grade basketball team in tow. What better place for a group of boys to hang out waiting between tournament games. First time here and I was quite impressed to find this size sports bar in Fond Du Lac. Two indoor sand volleyball courts & a small outdoor ball field. The service was great. There was only one bartender & one cook. They did a great job handling our large group along with the regular Saturday afternoon crowd. The food was reasonably priced. $25 for a burger, chicken wings, pizza, fries & cheese curds. Pretty typical bar food. I liked the wings, fries and pizza. I thought the burger was somewhat bland. It was a good size patty but was just a frozen burger. I would consider a different vendor for their burgers. The cheese curds were plentiful but also underwhelmed in flavor. Plenty of tv's for watching a sporting event and enough space to spread out a bit. All in all we had a good time with good service at a reasonable price. They are cash only. There's an atm on site but be prepared to pay the service fee.

It's a conundrum why the city of Madison doesn't have any indoor sand volleyball courts yet this working town has two, heated, well-kept, fine sanded courts. The only dislike is that it can become a heat box after couple of rounds of playing. You're not allowed to open the side door because they don't have the ability to turn the heater down or off. We took a break and ordered the 1/4 lb Angus burger $3.50, side of fries $2.75, and sweet habanero wings $6 for 6. Usually burgers in the small town are bomb, but these were flavorless, gritty, dry, and anemic looking. The pickles were surprisingly not of the over saturated, imitation green, Sysco kind. They were crisp and retained it's original form. They don't have lettuce or tomato, you're only topping are red onions. The fries were skin-on fries thicker than shoestrings . They don't hand bread their own onion rings. I asked. Wings were clutch. Crispy shell, with tender, white meat in the middle. An impressive, half a dozen list of flavors you can have coated or on the side. The bartenders are also the line cooks, being a small town there is no wait service and the attitudes are generally gruff. Only table beers on tap. * ° first review of 2017! Whoo!! ° *

Staff was there for the social and not to tend to customers. Best hamburger in the sate, not a chance.

I ordered a chicken sandwich with no bun and sweet potato fries. It was so good. The spotted cow burger was good but we hoped it was more spicy. My mocktail was sooooooi amazing!!! I loved every sip. It was not busy at all and was decently quiet for having wood floors.

As soon as you walk in, the bar and restaurant is lively with a good vibe, so I had high hopes. Our server was great, very personable. But the food was subpar at best. We started with the Fire Cracker Shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were frozen cheap shrimp tossed in a little sauce with soggy coleslaw on the bottom. I would be embarrassed to serve that appetizer. The Spotted Cow burger sounded amazing but the burger is a frozen burger with no seasoning and it was not juicy at all. The homemade potato chips were greasy and soggy. I have never had chips like that, ick. The green pepper soup was ok. It may have been homemade, I am not sure but I was so turned off by the other food I could not eat it. Such a waste of money. There are food & drink specials posted all over. My guess is that they are hurting. Plus parking is terrible.

Stop reading and stop in! You can thank me later…read more Food: I had the baked stuffed jalapeños for an appetizer. Such a unique mix of ingredients that compliment so well. Slight crunch, soft pimento. Delicious! Bulgogi- sandwich was for lunch. It was insane!!! Packed with sweet flavor and the toasted bun was perfect. I added fresh jalapeños for that sweet heat! Miso sesame ahi tuna- my buddy had this, and I almost ate half haha. It was amazing. Super shocked how fresh tuna was in Wisconsin! Service: Aaliegha was amazing! Super sweet and such a fun personality. Sit at the bar and chat her up! Ambiance: They did incredible with this place! I know the owners and these girls have busted their butts on this place and it shows. Hands down best food in Fond Du Lac. I used to live here and I travel all over, this is top notch! I expected a bit of a nicer vibe, especially for Valentine's Day. Wasn't the case. What they don't show in most of the photos you see online is they have a bar area right when you walk in with quite a few TVs. Then in the further dining area there are slot machines off to the side.... I would also say the servers are not dressed in a particularly appropriate attire in my eyes. I saw multiple servers in short/tight crop tops, more fit for a night out than serving a Valentines Dinner. Just not what I expected, given how they present themselves online. Now to the food! I will say, MAJOR PROPS for how well seasoned everything is. BUT I added chicken to my pasta dish and it was quite rubbery and fakey feeling NOT WORTH ADDING ON. Then on the elote rice, we added shrimp, and the shrimp was cut up into tiny pieces, hardly perceptible. Both appetizers were 5/5 great! I really like the beautiful church atmosphere and the appetizers give me hope. I just wish they would commit to being a finer dining establishment or add more fun casual elements. I think they can't decide what their deal is. Catering to multiple audiences makes both suffer. And maybe invest more into high quality chicken and larger shrimp on the rice.

To Em G. - your ignorance on religious history is very telling, if not appalling. The building used to be a bank (or so we were told). The "swastika" design on the floor dates back more than 11,000 years... literally. It is an auspicious symbol in Hinduism as well as several other religions. It was installed in that building before WWII (also, so we were told). In case you haven't priced flooring lately, best to leave original craftsmanship and educate yourself than replace an entire bar floor because some ignorant folks are "offended". My 6 buddies and I flew in from all over the country for a reunion and got an Airbnb on lake Winnebago. After having a great time at nearby bars (The Coliseum and Fat Joes) we stopped here for another drink. After giving the bartender Taylor our IDs, which were from different states, she immediately said they were fake and she couldn't serve us. We are all 25 years old. When we insisted we were all of age she said she would have to call the police. She refused to return our IDs until the cops came, she also refused to give me water until the police came because she "couldn't serve us at all" Refusing a drunk guy water, what a great way to run a bar! The worst part of it all was after 45 minutes of waiting for the police, we decided to call them ourselves. She never even called them! This establishment decided to ruin our night out of malice and spite. The police apologized for her ineptitude and told us not to let it ruin our view of the town. Taylor made that quite difficult.
