The outside of Brittain House may not impress; next door the home has a football goal post in the back yard. The parking lot is gravel. Then you walk inside, and it's like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz opening her door to a technicolor dream in Munchkinland. The bar is decorative; the mixologist is an expert. Our group of five was seated about a half-hour after we arrived. We were okay with this; we enjoyed the relaxing environment of the bar. I ordered what might have been the BEST prime rib I've ever had, and I've had a lot of prime rib over the years. I don't toss compliments around easily, and Waupun doesn't have many dining choices. And even if they did, I think Brittain House is truly a hidden gem.

I managed to eat the first plate and only got one reorder consisting of two bones. Parts of the ribs were on the dry side, but for the most part they were good. Note, they did come to the table with sauce already on them. Although much farther off Hwy 41 than I was anticipating, I enjoyed my meal at The Wisco and would make the trip out there again, especially to try their all you can eat fish fry.
