The employees are always very positive. I am originally from Guilford born and raised. I just finished my work, and I had a small item I had to ship, figured it would be safe to ship ups. So I decided to run over to the ups store which isn't nearly as far as the FedEx office. I go into the store, I see two employees, two women at the counter being helped and another two women just standing talking no where near the counter. The two women at the counter finished their transaction and left. I had the small item in my hand wrapped in bubble wrap. I then held it up and asked one of the two people behind the counter if they had an envelope, in a nice calm voice. I didnt say ups envelope but assumed he would know what I meant. As it was to large for a regular envelope. Getting an envelope is Standard when I go to fedex, figured was the same for ups. The older employee with white hair had an attitude, held up an envelope and said only have an envelope for express and if I wanted another I would have to pay. He then said what are you doing do you want to ship something. All of this was said to me with an obvious attitude. I thought about it all for a second and said I'm all set I'll go to FedEx. As I got to the door, I heard someone say what a a hole but the whole word. I poked my head back in and said this is why I do not ship here. So, I ended up leaving and as I was driving, I called the store. A man picked up and I asked if he was the one with the white hair, he responded yes. I asked who the owner was, and he responded I am. I let him know I planned on shipping I didn't care what it cost. Maybe 15 bucks??? Seriously I have never ever not even remotely been treated like this in a store. And he was the owner!!!!! I will never go back I'll continue with FedEx.

I surprisingly experienced some really poor customer service at this business…read more I sent an order of 4 thousand negatives and slides and asked to have 3 small test sets of the same 9 frames done first, to decide what I would like, 1 set 8 bit JPG, 1 set 16 bit TIF, and 1 set 16 bit 'flat' TIF. After surprisingly having to explain what a flat image is to a photo shop, they seemed to understand. But the 'flat' scans they sent me back were identical to the other normally processed 16 bit TIF default scans. They also failed to remove sharpening and grain reduction from the flat scan, which I specifically requested. Ok fine, they made a mistake, no big deal.. So I politely asked them to fix this one set of the flat scams (9 frames only!) and I even spent time to look up the two contrast settings they needed to adjust in the Noritsu software to get a flat scan. (Note I've never used Noritsu but it was easy to look up). Mike Ross the owner then phoned me and was so angry I could barely get a word in or finish a sentence. He seemed to suggest I was changing the order when I was simply helping them after it was apparent they didn't understand a flat scan, which is a pretty fundamental concept in scanning, nor did they even give me a 16 bit TIFF with no sharpening or grain reduction. Luckily this occurred on the test set and not the main order so I can send the negatives to a more knowledgeable (and hopefully pleasant to deal with) lab. I honestly don't understand how someone stays in business with this type of belligerent communication with customers.

Example: I accidentally thought a UPS label was USPS and instead of politely correcting me, the response was basically "well it says it right there." It's always little passive aggressive comments like that. Customer service here consistently feels rude, impatient, and hostile for no reason. Mark at Big Prints has gone above and beyond my expectations two times in one week. He was able to…read moredo photo 24 T-shirts, 2 giant posters, greeting cards, canvas bag all within a couple of days and with several different images. Somehow he pulled off a miracle and printed 20 photo T-shirts in front and back printing with lightning speed. He made my sons class gift very special for the teacher (giant foam core poster collage of the students and teachers pics) and the matching shirts were perfect for the whole kindergarten. I was so impressed I came back in a couple days with my photos for Father's Day. Yet another impossible deadline, or so I thought... The Fathers Day tee shirts he designed for us were perfect. He let me bring him my own tees so they were a perfect fit, he resized the image for the baby's tee. He printed "I'm Dad's Favorite" on the back of all 4.. It was Mark's great idea that gave the kids so many laughs!! We also made a matching canvas gift bag, later repurposed as a diaper bag, and another giant foam core poster greeting card, with individual photo cards for the kids to fill out (Mark's idea also). It was raining on pick up day so he wrapped the huge poster board for me and it was gift ready. It was the "Best Father's Day ever" according to a hard to please man ;) thanks to the amazing quality photo gifts we gave him. Mark really impressed me as he beat the price of others including samedaytees, walgreens, Walmart) while doing all the work much faster. Also I don't think you can get hard foam core posters at those places. You can email him files and he will give you a quote before doing the work. Now I have seen for myself why so many local businesses use Big Prints!
