Very shady and they take advantage of drivers. Took truck there (it drove) to fix air leak. Ended up being abs modulator assembly. Charged me $1800 on $800-$900 part then charged to run all over Chicago to find instead of just calling. After 7 his they kicked my driver out in cold because he was releasing info to me. Then when finished was $4,405 (discounted to $4100 something), should have been half. Then they don't accept credit/debit cards like stated only efs, Zelle or cashapp. Can't dispute charges on those payment platforms. They know they are crooks so make sure you can't dispute anything. read more

These people are thieves and liars. I was stuck in a median on 88 called them because they were first to pop up. They told me they had someone in the immediate area and it should be only a few mins. 1hr 10 mins and 3 phone calls later the tow driver calls me and says he's stuck behind heavy traffic and it will be another 30 mins. About that time the state police show up and pull me out. I asked the cops about the traffic and the cop told me besides everyone going 35 instead of hywy speeds there was no traffic. I called the tow and canceled and that's when the scam began. The driver informed me the cancelation fee was 280 dollars. I was pissed but I said charge me you have card I'll argue later about the price. Got home and there was a 750.00 charge on my card,I immediately called them and they told me they will resolve it when they close it out. This went on for a week with the same bullshit spouted 3 times on the 10 day ( my bank wanted a least a week for them to resolve it) I filed a dispute with my bank about the charges. So basically they charged me 750 dollars for a service not rendered, declared 280 dollars for time on their part and repeatedly lied about fixing it. read more

towing company appears to operate under multiple names, including: * Priority Towing * HDTC Inc. * Jonny's Towing & Recovery Inc. * Priority Wrecker Service Inc. * Priority Truck Center, Inc. They're tied to the phone number (630) 383-1150, and the BBB has given them an F rating for a pattern of complaints and lack of response. I had a frustrating and upsetting experience with this towing company and want to warn others. I was quoted $125 plus $5 per mile from Lombard to Roselle. I repeated back "So about $170?" and the dispatcher agreed. After waiting over an hour and once the car was hooked up, I was suddenly told to Zelle $295. When I questioned it, they hit me with a breakdown I was never told upfront: * $125 hookup fee * $40 (8 miles × $5) * $75 charge for the distance the tow truck had to travel to reach me * $15 photo fee * $40 "fuel fee," which they later claimed was a 15% tax When I pushed back, the person on the phone was incredibly rude and unprofessional, yelling "YEAH" when answering and telling me, "You wouldn't buy milk and not pay tax." When I asked to speak with the owner, they laughed and said, "Getting a hold of the owner is like trying to call Trump." I'll be honest -- I was really upset and raised my voice. I felt completely misled and powerless. I swore and said things out of anger like "I'm going to sue you" and "You're messing with the wrong person." I regret that part -- but I was pushed to that point by how disrespectfully I was being treated. Later, I called back calmly and spoke directly to the tow truck driver, who gave me the breakdown above -- but none of it had been disclosed before the tow began. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch, and after reading over 130 reviews just like mine, it's clear this is a pattern, not an isolated incident. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau (which gave them an F rating) and the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. I strongly encourage others to do the same. read more

Big ripoff, sent a driver to hang a door that driver knocked off the door hinges. This has happened to us in the past and the normal rate of labor and parts ranges from 300 to 500 dollars. But this place wanted to charge us 2000 dollars. The shop charged us 972 dollars for our driver to wait 6 hours and doing nothing to fix the door. Be careful with this place. Very unscrupulous. I wish I could post pictures of the door and the invoice. It's laughable. read more

This is by far the worst experience in towing that I've ever had. The website mentions that payments are acceptable at Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. However, after my service they requested "Zelle Only". I was confused as to why. However, I discovered my 2 mile towing cost would include a fee for "where the driver came from". This was NOT discussed over the phone or documented by the company on their website. The driver could have come from ANYWHERE. They only accept Zelle payments because they can't be disputed, which I'm sure they experience often! This business is a total joke. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I called them for help on a tow. I was told $125 to pick up the vehicle. Then $4 a mile for the tow. They took my credit card then--EVERYTHING CHANGED--- the driver shows up 2 hours later And I was told they only take zelle or cash app or the card has to be onsite. Also the they were charging me $4 a mile for every mile the truck travels to pick it up and drop it off (THEY ARE CHARGING ME WHAT IT COST A GALLON OF GAS TO DRIVE TO THE CAR TO PICK IT UP????). This was not what was agreed on. So I called and I got JACK.. Jack yelled at me that he never said that and that he has it recorded. I contest what he says and I ask to hear the recording. JACK then tells me that it's an additional $125 to hear the recording cause it's and "ADMINISTRATIVE FEE"... ok Jack $125?? Is it Jack or Joke? Cause this is comical.. At this point I lose my cool and gave him the upper hand I tell him I no longer wish to have them tow my my daughters vehicle. JACK then replies by threatening to impound my vehicle in BATAVIA at $140 per day. He also calls me a "FUCKING CLOWN" and continues berate me. The best part is he discounts my tow after his 2 min temper tantrum (where he asked me if I can't afford the tow) from being called out of his lie and here we are They still over charged me my tow should've been $125 +$8= $133.00 2 mile tow was $165.00. I am an OTR (Over The Road) truck driver delivering product on Tuesday, 09/15/2020 to Chicago in my company vehicle which is a 2019 Ford F350 diesel engine. I was searching for fuel after my drop to your city and unfortunately ran out of fuel on the 290W where it splits at the 355/20 interchange at exit 7. I called my AAA and was told that they do not deliver diesel and that they could tow my vehicle if I chose. I simply needed 5 gallons of diesel fuel and decided that I would contact a local wrecker service Priority Wrecker Service, Inc. 2040 N. Raynor Ave., Unit 1; Cresthill, IL., 60403; 847.964.3005 I explained to the person I spoke with that I had simply run out of fuel and needed someone to come out and provide me with 5 gallons of diesel fuel so I may get to my next approved company fueling station which is 7 miles from the spot I ran out. The individual I spoke to told me that they would be able to handle that as someone is in the area. I asked specifically how much it would cost (understanding that there would probably be an upcharge for the normal cost of the fuel and that there would probably be a service charge to come out and provide me this fuel. I was expecting that this entire service would cost me between $50-$75 somewhere. They were specifically vague, I see now why, as to not give me a price for this service and simply said that they would invoice me when they got there and put fuel in the vehicle. I again asked if there was a range of the price to which the person on the other end of the phone again told me that the drive would invoice me when fuel was put into the vehicle and the vehicle was started but asked for my credit card information so he may send the drivers out. The drivers (plural-2) showed up within the next 15-20 minutes and as expected, they pumped the requested fuel into my vehicle from an on-board fueling station they had but I first asked them how much the service would cost since it was only 5 gallons of fuel that is needed; he also said that they would invoice me after the vehicle was started. The fuel was put in and I needed to "prime" the diesel engine by putting it into the start position and then off again about 15 seconds per time and completed this about 6 times. The vehicle started and I went out to "settle-up" with the driver. He started figuring on his cell phone a bill for the service and I jokingly asked him to be kind as I was only working for a living. He started showing me what the bill was going to be as there is a "normal service charge" of $698.50 for just coming out with 2 employees for a minimum time of 2 hours plus the cost of the fuel!!! I was outraged! I complained to him saying that this was only for 5 gallons of fuel and he asked me if I had been given a verbal quote when I called- I told him of course not, I never would have authorized them to come out if that was the case. I was between a rock and a hard space as he had already run my credit card. I called the service in front of him speaking with the individual I first spoke with complaining about this "price gouging" situation. This is a very unfair, misleading and unprofessional, price-gouging manner in which to do business especially when I was only there to bring shipped products to the individuals in the city. I have already contacted Kwame Raoul, the Attorney General's office as well as the Dept. of Commerce to mirror this same complaint. I have been contacted by a bureaucrat from the Dept. of Commerce letting me know that they would not be willing to do anything as this type of business is not regulated and that the towing companies may do whatever they wish without further ramifications or consequences, unfortunately. read more

My batteries went dead (later found out it was an alternator wire loose) so I called a local wrecker service. They took my card information and was on their way. Upon arrival the wrecker guy jumped my batteries after he found a loose wire but that wasn't the real issue so he suggested I take it to the shop instead of him trouble shooting on w/wrecker prices, so off I went. At the shop just 4 miles away from where I was, there's no waiting area and no allowance in the shop and a waiver to sign stating they're not responsible for any theft etc and three option of what you want done to your truck. I was there from 9a-7p! While I was there the police was called out by three customers (pop up price invoices) I sat back and began to read reviews about the company (omg I wish I had done it prior to using them) I failed to mention the road side fee was $600+ for 1 hours of nothing( well basically a jump) And come out fee. After standing in the phone booth of a lobby listening to the constant arguing with customers over the bills and releasing of their semi truck(which was locked in garage) Back to the story... finally my truck was supposed to be ready I only inquired about it for 10 long hours (no one on one with the mechanic) so I asked the hard long question... what was the issue.? He said they charged the batteries and changed the wire connectors at the battery. I was like that took 10 hours WTF HOW MUCH IS THIS GONNA COST ME? Oh hell nah! What to say I don't go down the street and the same issue happens.. please go double check or let me go with you to my truck so we can figure out what the issue is because if I break down anywhere you guys have to come get me free of charge! "guarantee your work" ! After that statement they said we'll go double check it again... once he returned 45 minutes later he told me they had to replace alternator wiring connection. WOW ! So I really assessed my own issues and paid a whopping $800+ plus the road service fee $600+ =$1,400+ change around about for what I believe should've only cost less than $600 total! Read reviews. Take people to court, Put people out of business. Their sign says they support the police "official police wrecker" something like that. I'm guessing nothing will ever be done about the "official thievery"! Don't shop here! read more

We needed to tow an out of commission vehicle for work to a repair shop. We asked the repair shop for a recommendation for a tow company and they suggested Priority Wreckers. They were very helpful in getting someone out quickly. However, I was given an hourly rate of $195 an hour and when all was said and done it cost us just under $900 for a large vehicle to be towed to Nashville from LaVergne. When the repair shop wasn't able to fix the vehicle. we had to get it towed back but decided we couldn't afford to pay another $900 on top of it. So I called around to other local towing companies. The one we ended up going with charged about $600 less than Priority did to do the same amount of work. Not that Priority didn't do a good job, but if you are looking for reasonable rates, it's probably best to shop around before making the final decision. read more
