I was referred to this clinic for some testing by my family practitioner. After a few weeks…read morewithout a call for an appointment I followed up to get Brooke's contact and called myself several times to get in touch. In mid December I left them a voicemail. More than two weeks later they have yet to return my call or set an appointment. I've called several times since and they never pick up the phone. I would not recommend going to this clinic under any circumstances based on my experience.

My family doctor moved to Burnaby and I told her I will prefer to do any diagnostic tests in…read moreBurnaby as it will be more convenient. So she gave me the referral letter with a list of places I could go. Brooke is nearer to me so I decided to try it. The drawback is there is no free parking at the plaza it's located in, unlike the previous place I went to. I was used to popping over to a radiology/imaging center right after getting the referral letter from the doctor with no appointment. So I did that and discovered I do need an appointment if I'm getting other tests besides X-ray. X-ray does not need an appointment. It's walk in. The service from the reception was quite brusque, not very friendly. They kinda barked at you on the process of even how to wait in line. You only wait in line if you have an appointment. Otherwise just take a number and wait for it to be called. Despite the sign, it wasn't clear to most patients. I guess we are used to just checking in first and then wait. The other staff (technicians, radiologist etc) were friendlier and much better in making you feel comfortable and relaxed so you won't feel nervous about getting tests done. You just have to get through the hurdle of the reception.

Absolutely horrible humane understanding from the management team…read more I have been suffering with an undiagnosed respiratory infection for 1.5 weeks with symptoms of a fever, chills, hot & cold sweats, runny nose, headache, a horrible cough and I apparently also had pneumonia too according to my Dr who I was finally able to see & seek treatment from yesterday. I had been off work this entire time & have been out pay for 3-days of that time. I had completely forgotten (in my ill state) that I had a scheduled ultrasound today at the No. 3rd Rd facility. When I finally realized, it was 1.5 hours later. Upon realizing this, I called the No 3 Rd office to apologize & to explain the reason why I had missed the appointment & had respectfully asked for their understanding. I received a "too bad" reply from their manager & told that regardless of my ill condition, I will be charged a $50.00 penalty. I pleaded once again while crying over the phone to ask them respectfully to understand that I wasn't in my right mind to do much else other than sleep & stay hydrated let alone remember about this appt. I was met with the cold repeated reply that the penalty will apply. I am able to write this today b/c today is the 1st day that I have been capable of thinking normally after receiving the treatment that I so desperately needed but had to wait to receive due to our present medical care system in Canada. My not having the cognitive ability to cancel the appt within their policy which is a policy designed for a person who is "in their right mind & capable of doing so" is one which needs to be measured by humans - not robots pretending to be humans. Where is the understanding? Especially from a medical facility? In my condition up to yesterday, whereby I was not in my capable mind of acting normally, due to my overwhelmingly impairing symptoms, should be taken into consideration when dishing out "too bad" replies as to their policies of cancellation. This policy should not apply to those in similar situations as it falls outside the realm of "normal conditions" & should be understandably waived for these human frailty reasons (especially by a medical facility). I am shaking my head in surprise, deep sadness & extreme disgust at the level of inhumane treatment I received & will never go back to this facility ever again. I will instead seek the assistance of a facility that has the decency to call themselves human beings who treat people in frail conditions with the care, understanding & attention that they deserve - especially in their time of need. i recommend that NO ONE seek this facilities assistance.

I think these folks missed the meaning of word "care" in healthcare!…read more This is the second time that I have had serious issue with this location's reception staff. They all seem to hate their jobs. No one smiles. They are curt and do not ever offer options. They use an annoyed tone when you ask questions. I think they need to remember that they are a part of a service industry and if they can't handle working happily with people (who are going there because they may have a serious medical issue), then they should really not be the front line of this business. Some serious changes need to be made.
