I was referred to this clinic for some testing by my family practitioner. After a few weeks without a call for an appointment I followed up to get Brooke's contact and called myself several times to get in touch. In mid December I left them a voicemail. More than two weeks later they have yet to return my call or set an appointment. I've called several times since and they never pick up the phone. I would not recommend going to this clinic under any circumstances based on my experience. read more

My family doctor moved to Burnaby and I told her I will prefer to do any diagnostic tests in Burnaby as it will be more convenient. So she gave me the referral letter with a list of places I could go. Brooke is nearer to me so I decided to try it. The drawback is there is no free parking at the plaza it's located in, unlike the previous place I went to. I was used to popping over to a radiology/imaging center right after getting the referral letter from the doctor with no appointment. So I did that and discovered I do need an appointment if I'm getting other tests besides X-ray. X-ray does not need an appointment. It's walk in. The service from the reception was quite brusque, not very friendly. They kinda barked at you on the process of even how to wait in line. You only wait in line if you have an appointment. Otherwise just take a number and wait for it to be called. Despite the sign, it wasn't clear to most patients. I guess we are used to just checking in first and then wait. The other staff (technicians, radiologist etc) were friendlier and much better in making you feel comfortable and relaxed so you won't feel nervous about getting tests done. You just have to get through the hurdle of the reception. read more

I see a lot of one star reviews but personally have never had a bad experience here and unfortunately I've been here more times than I want. You need an appointment to come here, I don't think that was the case before. My doctors office is around the block and if I ever needed anything done I would just come in after my appointment and they would take me in right away, not anymore. You have to make an appointment online. I guess you can call them too but not sure. The appointments can take a while cuz they're so busy. It's the same as trying to get a appointment for Lifelabs or your doctor etc. It is what it is......... read more

This is my second visit. My first was years ago for a suspected cracked rib. They were super polite calm and the front desk super helpful. Today. I went there. This is after spending long weekend being pushed around by 3 clinics that shows open on Sunday wasn't, or open but we don't do requisition letters, or even does not say they don't til you fill out their questionnaire clipboard. Complete waste of 2 hrs. Ended up trying ER Royal Columbia hospital, after 3 hrs 42 mins got the requisition for the hospital. They sent me home. Will get call in 24-48 hrs. Got the call alright. The imaging lab. No longer does shoulder ultrasounds. Not for 3 months ago. So went to family doc luckily had appointment the following week Doc sent me here. Brookes. Brooks does not do it anymore. The equipment not sensitive enough. But they spent good 7 mins answering many questions and helped me weed out a list of those that stopped doing it (asking colleagues to save me time). I went to the one they suggested on ROBSON. But they too stopped doing it. But they able to suggest China town there was one on keefer that does it. KEEFER location in Vancouver DOES SHOULDER ULTRASOUND for rotator cuff scans Ill upload the list and add more info here once I get home tonight to hopefully help others fine labs that do the scans for shoulder. l canceled my renal ultrasound appt scheduled in almost 5 weeks because l found an earlier appt elsewhere. l asked politely the office clerk if they provide a confirmation number for this cancellation and she answered NO. I insisted to have something in hand since they are charging no-shows and she answered (on a lauder voice!) there is no need because....she has my file upfront ! Finally l ended up having her name (Shannon) and l hope it will be enough in case they will charge me for no-show ....Incredible unprofessional front desk work ! read more

I am surprised that Brooke Radiology even got just over 2 star rating for they should be out of business. They still use a fax machine for transferring files! Two times now their fax did not arrive at my Doctor's Office. They are really incompetent and out of touch with modern communication methods. read more

Done an Ultrasond test by Honest few days ago, She is very patient and helpful to a hard hearing person. She use signs and touch to let me know when to deep breath and hold and let it out. And speak slowly and clearly for position changes so my transcript software can catch her correctly. read more

I went to an ultrasound with my wife she is pregnant and they went in alone and then they made me go in and the technician was too rude she never made me say anything about the baby if I'm okay or not and it's not a friend to leave a study without being told nothing. I really would not recommend anything at all, it lacks a little more humanism. read more

For my 19th week ultrasound, my husband and I went to Brooke Radiology. I'm not sure if this is a trend among ultrasound offices, but the front desk staff seemed to hate their jobs. Luckily, the ultrasound technician was happy to help me take a look at the baby. It made me feel unrushed and allowed us to enjoy this special moment. Note - Their office policy doesn't allow them to let you know the gender of your baby. You need to go to your doctor to get the results. read more

Came in for an ultrasound on a Monday morning, the sonographer called me in couple minutes before my appointment, which was great because I had a full bladder. She was very professional and patient. It's my first time being here and it was a good experience. They also reimburse for parking. read more

They should tell you ahead of time that you cannot bring kids. It's summer break. Offering for my 10 yr old girl to sit unattended in the hallway is unacceptable. They wouldn't even let her inside the doors. The waiting room was empty. And yet when I had to rebook another appointment they then said that she could come in and sit in the empty seats. If I was told ahead of time I could have made arrangements. Completely unapologetic desk staff except for the lady checking in at the door seemed sympathetic to the situation. Thinking that a mother would leave her young child in a busy office building hallway within feet of easy road access on either ends and while inside a private scanning room is truly dumbfounding. Hopefully they never make the news for even allowing this. read more

Went in to get a pelvic ultrasound, which is always so stressful because you have to start drinking water beforehand. First time going to this radiology clinic - I arrived very nervous about what experience I'd encounter - and the experience that greeted me was a huge relief. The front desk staff were gentle and friendly, I was signed in quickly and easily, and I was even brought in a bit early for my appointment (of course you can't expect that last part every time, but it was nice that it happened this time). What's more, they had a doctor greeting people at the door while we waiting in the short line for reception. She spoke to each of us in the short line one on one, answering any questions we might have and giving us a dollop of hand sanitizer. She was so warm, personable and reassuring, and easily answered a question I had about the process. Lastly, the ultrasound technician was lovely as well and very fast yet thorough with taking images. I felt cared for from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left. I never expected a pelvic ultrasound experience to be this pleasant, let me tell you! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I didn't even get through the door. I called regarding an ultrasound but cannot make it in mornings because of a serious medical condition. When I tried to make an appointment, it was like I was talking to a machine, not a person - they just kept repeating that it wasn't possible over and over again despite the fact that I came to them because I'm desperately seeking help for a solution to this problem. I mentioned that if they could make a one-day exception, or speak toa a technician about my quandary, and that I would wait for weeks if necessary to shift this schedule. Despite being a medical institution, they were absolutely unwilling to even consider accommodating my problem or empathizing with the fact that they deal with real people on the other line. This is why so many people have a difficult time getting the care they need. You need to treat other people as people, not as things. I wouldn't recommend this place if you feel like being treated as a person, not a thing. I would have told this to them personally if they had an e-mail address I could contact. This is more serious than leaving a bad review on a restaurant - this is where people go to receive medical attention for things that can change the course of their very lives. It saddens me to need to write this. I hope that I can find someone who's willing to try to help me soon. These people aren't. If you need to go here, I hope you get better care than me. read more

Terrible---I wish I could give zero stars. I went with my wife this morning for an ultrasound, and I did not get to see anything because I was not let inside (even though I was told at the door and later at the reception that they would let me in for the last 5-10 mins). When I complained I was given the excuse that it was my wife's fault because they ended up doing a transvaginal ultrasound because she didn't drink enough water (of course it's her fault). Actually the lady explaining this to me was surprised that I was upset at all because she had "clearly explained to my wife" the situation while they were inside (which makes no difference because they should've called me in regardless, since an ultrasound did occur, and I was explicitly told from the website and by 3 different staff to wait outside and that they'd call me inside). Anyway, the lady was surprised, and when I told her that my wife needs a translator (aka me) her response was "but she understood when I said X to her". I don't even know what to say to this. When you speak a language other than your native language, you tend to miss things (some people more some people less), and it depends on the context and what's being said. This is exactly why a day before I explained my wife that they may end up doing a transvaginal ultrasound (I was afraid it would caught her by surprise and she would agree to it without knowing what it was, like it happened to this underage girl that commented on Google reviews). So she did her homework and went through the terminology just to get familiar, and we suspected that things were going to be rushed (so we tried to be ready). At the end nothing mattered, everything was rushed, my wife was unnecessarily scolded (easy to scold someone when they can't reply back), and I did not get to see the baby as promised. What pisses me off is that they think they did nothing wrong. The website said they would call me inside, multiple staff confirmed. If there was a chance this was not going to happen they had to communicate that prior to the ultrasound; so I had the option to decide to go elsewhere. This is false advertising. It's an outright lie. They act as though we're not paying for their service. I should've listened to all the negative reviews. I guess that's a lesson for me. read more

BC Womens waitlist for a diagnostic mammogram and ultra sound is behind by "several months" and I was told to look else where for an earlier appointment. I contacted Brooke Radiology and I was told by the reception in order to get a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound appointment I had to get my file transferred over from BC Womens then they would be able to get me an appointment. I made the arrangements with BC Womens to get my file transferred which also meant that I was removed from BC Women's wait list. The next day, I called Brookes and they told me they had not received the file transfer. I called BC Womens who confirmed they did send it. I then called Brookes to let them know it was sent in which they informed me that I have been denied as a new policy has been implemented that patients must go back to the initial site where they received their rountine mammogram. I asked when this policy took place (effect) and she said early this week. I was really upset and told her that she could had told me this yesterday prior to getting my file transferred and removed from BC Womens. She had no remorose or was apologetic. DO NOT GO HERE- I later found out this is not true and the receptionist just ruined my chances of receiving appropriate medical care in a timely manner. read more

My real review is zero stars but I can't put that. If you want covid 19 come down to Brooke radiology!!! They are packed with people (doesn't seem to be a person limit in their waiting room) sending you flying from one side of the room to the other as people walk right next to you. I didn't know how to turn down the student tech so I agreed to have her do my ultrasound and that was a huge mistake. She said it would be the shortest u/s appointment I'd ever had and it was by far 3x longer than any appt I've had yet. I was in tears and a state of panic by the end of the appointment when they said I could bring in my "support person" I'm sorry but don't say I can have a support person if all you mean is someone to wait outside clinic for me. Don't expect much from radiology clinics. read more

Technician was not kind, had zero bedside manner and made breathing noises because she had to do an additional test. When in a position of trust you should treat your patients as patients and not inflict your own judgement to set the tone of a visit. People do these types of exams because they are alarmed by something going on for them or they need answers to something personal and private. Humiliating experience. read more

I would give zero stars if I can. I would not recommend anyone to go to Brooke Radiology for prenatal ultrasound. I went on my 20th week for my ultrasound appointment. I do not care for fancy offices, magazines or updated equipment. I care for reliable reports from radiologist to tell me how my baby was doing. I did NOT get that for sure. I understand that it may be difficult at times to get good views of everything, but that should be noted on the report as something that they can not conclude on and request for me to come in for a follow up appointment. Here is my personal experience: I went in for my ultrasound and the technician seems to have difficulties getting some images. For a good 20 minutes or so, he was making frustrating sounds like sighing and "tsk" and asking me to turn to my right or left multiple times. Then he told me to go use the bathroom and walk around, hoping baby will turn around. When I went back in, he mentioned that baby was still in the same position, so I need to go back. He did not tell me why until I asked. Then he told me that he couldn't get some of the images that was required and gave me an example. They need 4 different images of the heart, but he only got two. I thanked him and proceeded to make a follow up appointment to go back. To my surprise, the radiologist signed off on the report noting that everything was fine and I did not need a follow up. I called Brooke Radiology back and was shocked when they told me that the technician said he never told me to go back for a follow up. Thankfully, my doctor's office booked me another appointment at North Shore Imaging. This second radiologist report was completely different and noted 2 abnormalities. I was then referred to BC Women's hospital where these 2 abnormalities were confirmed. Had I not insisted on a second ultrasound and relied on the radiologist report from Brooke Radiology, my baby would begin to suffer from a complicated heart defect immediately after birth. Bottom line is, if you want a reliable radiologist and technician, I would not suggest Brooke Radiology. read more

Unit number is 100. I came here after a check up at the walk in clinic. I have been having a nagging cough with Green Flem these past 2 weeks with sore ribs and stomach. I went in to get some xrays. The line up was really short, therefore, didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes. The staff were super warm and helpful. The lady was really sweet in assisting with re-tying my robe and instructing me carefully as to where to stand. I have an ear blockage, therefore, on top of everything that has been going on with my body my left ear is partially def but she was patient in answering all my questions and re-directions. There wasn't a large selections of magazines and there is no wifi, therefore, bring a book during peak periods. Very soothing ambiance. read more

My wife and I went there yesterday for ultrasound for our baby. The chinese lady was rude, unprofessional and impatient. My wife told me that the lady kept complaining that the baby was moving around in her womb making it hard to do her job. Any questions my wife and i asked her, she would tell us to talk to our family doctor. At the end of the session, she printed out 4 identical ultrasound images of our baby which is super blurry. read more

Just went to there for 20w detailed fetus ultrasound. It was awful experience. The technician seemed not professional. She constantly changed her position and seemed inpatient. She checked her watch for at least 5x during an hour session. She even asked senior tech's help to check baby's heart area. She complained my baby was moving a lot so she had hard time to see something. I could feel my baby was quite active but I don't think she or he can constantly moving for more than an hour. She didn't show me any thing through out the session, not to mention any explanation. I've asked baby's gender, because my midwife has noted this on prescription. First the technician said she is not allowed to tell. At the end, she said she couldn't see because of baby's position. I don't really concerned about the gender, but this technician made me nervous about baby's healthy. I'm affraid she is not able to check all markers accurately. Actually, I had 2 ultrasound scans there for other reasons. All technicians I've met were nice and experienced. So I guess this lab is not a good choice for Obstetric ultrasound. read more

I was a bit worried going into this appointment after reading all the terrible reviews, but I couldn't be any happier with how the appointment went! My appointment was for a dating scan (9 weeks pregnant) We showed up 10 minutes early and were greeted with nothing but smiles and professionalism.My name was called right on time and I was brought into the back. It says right on their website that partners will not be allowed in the room until after all the measurements have been done. This is for everyone's benefit..they need to focus. I don't think it's fair to give a negative review based off this when they clearly state this is their policy. Before she began, she asked how full my bladder was and I told her I was ready to burst I was in so much pain. She told me she didn't need my bladder to be super full and let me pee a whole cups worth out! RELIEF. The exam began and only took about 10 minutes and then she turned the screen and showed me our baby! She then slipped out and went and got my partner. She really took the time to show us the screen and the baby bouncing around. She showed us the heart beat and even let us listen to it! She pointed out different body parts and let us know how strong the heart beat was. She then printed us 3 lovely photos (free of charge) congratulated us and sent us on our way. It's unfortunate to hear others had such terrible experiences here, but every single person we came across was super friendly! Other technicians were even asking to see our photos! read more

I've now had 2 ultrasounds at this location, and I will never go back nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. They are disorganized and the technicians are miserable and rude. An ultrasound on a pregnant woman should NOT be uncomfortable because the technician is angrily pushing the probe aggressively into your abdomen as she tries to get an image of the baby. Terrible technique and an overall bad experience. There are plenty of other options, don't give this place your business. read more

If anyone is thinking of doing an obstetrical ultrasound at this location I strongly suggest you go somewhere else like Grieg &Assoc or the hospital instead. The ultrasonographer at this location was really rude. Didn't want me asking questions during the exam stating that she needed to concentrate on the exam and didn't have time to answer my questions. My poor husband had to sit outside in the waiting room while I had my ultrasound and wasn't even called in to see the ultrasound afterwards b/c they said they were running late and didn't have time to let him or I see the baby. Having a baby is a wonderful experience for expectant parents. And the ultrasound should be a pleasant experience not one where you're made to feel like you're taking up too much of the tech's time. Only booked first pregnancy scan at 9 weeks (the receptionists guess)... Even if you think something is wrong or don't know when your last period was (because you're breastfeeding). Received 4 identical poor pictures... Low quality. No effort to take a nice one. Was worried about the baby and asked if there was a heartbeat... Technician said "just let me do my job" and refused to answer even when everything was fine. Instead she said "your husband is in the waiting room? I'll go and bring him in and let him know everything is fine". Poor people skills. Would have went anywhere else but I couldn't find anywhere. Even the original phone call, booking my appointment, they hung up before telling me the appointment time. Pretty important don't you think? To add this is my second dating scan at this place... And the date they tell you is completely different from what they print on the actual scan. Strange. read more

In October of 2011, I had a chest x ray taken at this location, for possible pneumonia. X-ray showed a large white area which the report stated was "breast tissue". Nothing negative on x-ray. The following day I was taken into hospital after a serious choking episode. X-rays taken which revealed the same white area. Diagnosis; severe pneumonia for which high doses of steroids and antibiotics were required. Appropriate treatment given with a full recovery two weeks later. I then visited with my doctor, who read out the report from Brooke Radiology and was happy to leave it at that. Had it not been for my emergency trip to the hospital, I would not have received the appropriate treatment. This was a very serious life-threatening mistake by Brooke. Best to go elsewhere if at all possible. read more

I've been to this location 3 times and had 2 bad experiences. First time was great and the technician was an older lady but took the time to show us things on the ultrasound and was super great we got a super cute profile pic of our baby. Second and 3rd time I got this Asian lady and she was borderline bitchy. First time she said I drank too much and had to pee some out coz I was squishing the baby, when I said "Oh no!" she said "Don't make a big fuss about it" in a very negative tone. OK so that is a bit forgivable but the last time it was for my second baby and when it came time to show the father the ultrasound and print it out we saw nothing. When we asked if she could zoom in more to see more detail she said "Right now it's just tissue so you can't see anything" and I am not exaggerating when I say she said "tissue"! The picture was a blob within a blob. Really not a good bonding experience and I won't be going back. She could have just said the baby is too small you can see anything which I know is not true since we had a great 1st pic for my 1st pregnancy. It's too bad too since the other technician, a redhead seemed super nice but unfortunately I got stuck with this nasty lady. read more
