    Skye's Heating and Cooling

I hired Skye's Heating and Cooling LLC to install a new HVAC system in my home. It turned into one…read moreof the worst contractor experiences I've ever had. The installation was done incorrectly, the system did not function properly, and multiple safety issues were discovered -- including a disconnected carbon monoxide vent, which could have easily caused serious harm to my family. After trying repeatedly to get them to make things right, I started researching their credentials. According to the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB), the owner applied in 2023 for Electrical, Hydronics, and Plumbing licenses and was denied, and then applied again in 2024 for an HVAC license but failed to respond to Board inquiries, causing the application to expire and become invalid. In short, the owner has never held any valid Ohio HVAC license, meaning this company cannot legally perform HVAC work anywhere in Ohio. This explains the unprofessional work, lack of permits, and unsafe installation I experienced. Consumers should be aware that paying an unlicensed contractor puts you at major risk -- there's no legal protection or warranty when they operate outside Ohio law. If you're considering HVAC work, protect yourself: verify licenses directly with the OCILB (614-644-3493) before hiring anyone. I wish I had.
