Very experienced and owned and operated by Basima. She does a great work and tries her best to be accommodating on when to finish her alterations. She is super sweet and there is a parking lot that you can drive into to access the house. There was a time that I went that I wanted to get one of my dress shirts done for graduation, however, she completely forgot when I went to pick it up on the day of (it was during PROM season for high schoolers so you have to cut some slack) but she was able to alter it within 1.5-2 hours for it to be ready just in time. read more

I finally broke down and looked for a tailor, inasmuch as the woman who previously tailored my clothes retired. Basima is a lovely and pleasant lady and was accommodating but I cannot understand how people say her prices are fair and unbeatable. Because I am under 5', everything has to be shortened. I brought slacks to be shortened; her charge was $25 per pair. I found it outrageous inasmuch as the hemming was done by machine, not even by hand, and it looked it; not professional looking at all. I was very disappointed. Imagine have a pair of skinny jeans shortened and charged $25! After reading the reviews, it seems I am one of two dissatisfied customers. read more

I found Princess Alterations by reviews, and those reviews were clearly not accurate. I dropped my dress off for alterations on July 1. Basima asked me to come pickup either 7/28 or 29, but knowing I would be away for the weekend and with the wedding being 8/5, I asked for July 27 pickup. She agreed and asked me to call on 7/26 to make sure it would be ready. When I called on 7/26, she assured it was ready for pickup 7/27 after 5pm. The morning of 7/27, I received a text saying she needed more time, that I can pickup on 7/28 after 5pm. I adjusted my previous plans to make this work. At 5pm when I texted Basima I was on my way, I was told my dress still isn't ready. At this point, I was livid. Not only had she had the dress for close to a month, she also had nearly a 50% deposit from me and was now 2 days later than the deadline we had agreed upon. She kept giving me excuses about what she had going on, but there was no excuse when the dress was there for almost a month at this point and she agreed to the business. I arranged to pickup on 7/31 after 5pm since this was the best I could do given my other scheduled plans and I did not want my dress to appear rushed. When I arrived for pickup, there were other customers so I had to wait a bit of time. When I tried my dress on, there were still open sections of the lining and unfinished hems. I brought this to her attention and she sewed them to try back on. All looked good from the outside; however, the structural inside was not good quality at all. They were basting stitches and looked like I had sewn the dress myself at home. I was very disappointed in the look of my dress, and for the price paid, the quality did not match. Very unprofessionally done. Basima kept insisting I was bringing up this issue because I just wanted to pay less. It wasn't about the price. The wedding was in 5 days. I would pay that price no problem if the quality of work reflected it, but it did not. And now I'm more concerned the dress will fall apart during the wedding. Not to mention the dress was not even steamed or kept in plastic while there, and her cat was walking around the dresses hanging up. I would never return for work in the future and would not recommend anyone to go to Princess Alterations. read more

What I thought was impossible she handled with precision and great craftsmanship. I took my work pants which when I order always come from the factory very boxy she was able to achieve a nice tapered inside seam, it made my work pants look and feel like dress pants. I am definitely a fan now and if you have the opportunity do not think twice to give this establishment a try I promise you won't be disappointed I've heard nothing but great things and my experience speaks to what I've heard. read more

The best and most reliable tailor I have found near me. Basima is wonderful to work with and always does exactly what I'm looking for. I have taken several short dresses, a jumpsuit, and a gown to be hemmed and adjusted in the shoulders. The stitch quality is machine level perfection and everything ends up fitting perfectly. Prices are fair and unlike tailors in a retail setting, Basima has very flexible hours as she works out of her home. I have gone as late as 8:30 to drop off or pick up. Alterations are very quick, I frequently am able to pick up in less than a week. read more

I came here just a few days ago with a couple of school uniform dresses that needed to be hemmed. Most tailors weren't open for the weekend, so I went to Basima last minute. Basima tailored the dresses exactly how I wanted and in only three days! She was very nice to work with and her prices were fair. I brought a bridesmaid dress to Basima that I was previously told wasn't possible to make fit without a corset back. It was 6-7 inches from closing and overall a disaster! Within 1 week Basima not only made it fit (sans corset back) but made sure everything was perfect. I now feel comfortable & confident in a dress that had no hope.
