I would give 100 stars if I could! If you are looking for a seamstress for ANY alteration, look no…read morefurther! Especially complex wedding gown alterations. I have never experienced such fantastic customer service, and exceptional quality work in my life. Here is a little story that might highlight for you how amazing Michelle is: I went through 3-4 fittings with a seamstress I was friendly with, but she kept insisting I needed to wear a regular bra with straps for my expensive, nude color mesh +lace wedding gown. I picked it up Sunday night (6 days before the wedding), tried it on at home with a full length mirror, and as I moved around I realized the top did not fit at all. It was falling off, the area for the boobs was hanging, things were in strange places. I sent a picture to my sister and friend and they agreed it was not wear-able. When I contacted my seamstress she said she didn't know what she could do, aside from taking the whole thing apart, but there wasn't time for that. I didn't sleep all night and started making phone calls at 7 am to find a new seamstress. Keep in mind the dress is a sheer mesh, crepe fabric, and then covered in very tightly sewed on lace appliques. There is no "easy fix". By 8 am Michelle called me back, had me send her pictures of the issue and although she was swamped with other clients alterations, said she would fit me in at 8:30 for a consultation. I arrived, got into the dress, and she immediately pointed out the areas that required work, pulled out the bra cups the previous seamstress put in the wrong place, threw new ones in there, and pinned it up to fix everything. It was like a whole new dress. I literally almost cried. This is Monday. I came back Wednesday afternoon for a second fitting and it was almost done. She knit-picked and fussed over the tiniest details I would not have even noticed. Made sure it was perfect, and I will have my dress by Friday (tomorrow) at 12 pm. Talk about service. Aside from this, Michelle made sure I calmed down and understood that everything would be okay. She kept in contact via text everyday and I know spent hours on this dress. Needless to say, I finally slept last night and was able to focus on all the other details of the wedding. I know the dress is going to be PERFECT. Oh, to top it off her price was nothing compared to my original failing alterations. I could not believe it. Give Michelle a call and I'm sure she'd be happy to help you with any of your alteration needs. Also turns out she did wedding dresses, prom dresses, and mother of the bride dresses for half the people who work in my office. They even had her business card in their wallet and pulled it out as I was going on and on about this new seamstress named Michelle I had found :) I'll post my dress before and after photos after the wedding this weekend so you can see her amazing work.

I've been getting my dry cleaning done here for a number of years now…read more It's conveniently located on Rt. 10 between Cheshire and New Haven, so if you make that trek frequently then you drive right by the place. They're open pretty good hours as in early in the morning and I think they close about 8pm. They are open Saturday but not Sunday. If you drop your clothes off early enough they can usually turn them around by later in the day, though I'm not usually in that much of a hurry to get my stuff back. The people are generally friendly and helpful. Over the years from time to time something will get "lost" in that a) It's not done when promised or b) Its done but they can't actually find your items when you show up to pick them up. It doesn't happen often and your items will inevitably turn up usually in the next day or two but it can be annoying. Like most dry cleaners they seem to use a system of managing customer's clothes that feels like it's from the 1940's; it works but isn't perfect. They are good at getting out various stains out of clothes and that's important to a slob like me. Price-wise they aren't that cheap. As of today (4/2016) I think I pay $2/shirt and about $6.50 for a pair of pants. If you drop off women's clothes expect to pay more. Prices go up periodically and honestly I drop off so much stuff each visit I don't really keep track of the cost of each individual item. I'm sure you could do better on price someplace else but overall when you factor in quality, service, hours, etc. I don't feel ripped off. Also they do all cleaning on-site. I'm always hesitant to use a place that sends my clothes out to another location to get cleaned and pressed. The odds of something getting lost or misplaced gets exponentially higher when it has to leave the building and then come back again. So overall I'm happy with Rainbow Cleaners.
