so so disappointe! owner pinned my dress and and it seems an unskilled or careless person sewed on it and now my gown for my sons wedding is so short and puckering in the back and the corrections that were attempted had made the arm holes so tight. I went 4 times and each time the job was not completed. they would be speaking in a different language as they were on the spot rushing my job and then handing it to me only 1/2 done. I took to a seamstress today who is undoing what they did and fixing hopefully my gown. except the length is what it is now that they hemmed it too short. very very unhappy. read more

I dropped my dress off 9/16 to be tailored for a wedding i'm in. We agreed upon a pickup date of 10/1, giving her 16 days to tailor it. When i walked in to pick up the dress at 12pm on 10/1, she was still working on it, stating one for her "sewing machines were down" and that's why the dress she's had for 16 days was not completed yet. I had been in a time crunch and was told to come back later to pick the dress up when i live over 40 minutes away. I picked because they had great reviews. She then rushed the job and still charged me full price. I would advise you to find a place that has their business in order to ensure you get the things you need on time. read more

I had a basic alteration done at this establishment about a year ago, and I didn't have any complaints, so I came back with more garments to be altered. I dropped the pieces off and was told that they would be ready in 2 weeks. Over 3 weeks later, I called for a follow up and it was very obvious that they hadn't even touched my clothes. I was told to come back by noon the following day. I came at the time that I was instructed, and to my dismay, they were still working on my pieces when I walked through the door. It was apparent that they were panic-working, even talking to each other from across the room that I was already at the shop waiting... not what you want to hear from seamstresses working on your high quality clothing. They were verbally expressing their frustration about the material of my dresses and how difficult they were to work with. Again, not an assuring thing to hear. I wasn't able to try on my pieces in store because the dressing rooms were taken but I was told to "just bring back" the clothes if I had any issues. I tried my items at home, and the work is so bad that I couldn't do anything but laugh. I am NOT a stickler for uneven hemming. But, the hemming was already falling apart and not even secured in multiple areas. The alterations completely altered the look of one of my dresses. In addition, what was originally agreed upon with the alteration of my trouser pant was completely ignored. I wanted to keep the elastic at the bottom of the trouser, but they just cut it off entirely, making my elasticized trouser into a wide-legged trouser. I gave a beautiful silk dress for the purpose of de-puffing the sleeves, and, now, the sleeves look even puffier. I dislike giving negative reviews, but the work was so unacceptable that I don't even think they care about getting them. I would have appreciated if the business was more transparent about their capabilities and limitations when I dropped off my pieces. Seamstresses that I have had in the past have given constructive feedback on what would or would not work with regards to alterations, and they have at least given me a call if there was a required deviation in the original agreement. I chose not to return my pieces to the shop for fear that it is made worse (as one of the reviews on here stated). Safe to say I will never be back here, and I will continue my hunt for honest and reliable seamstresses in CT. read more

Timing- you say it will be done it needs to be done by that date. Four different promises for the easy easy easy job to be completed . Come back on Monday- you come back come back on Friday... it goes on and on. Now it is happening to a friend!!! Don't take the job if you can't get it done. Simple as that! read more

I've brought a good number of items for alterations over a 2 year period. On occasion I've had to return for the owner to make adjustments to the work done on the item(s). The last time I brought an item in there it was measured & marked by the owner however, apparently it was assigned to another worker who sewed it incorrectly twisting the lining inside the sleeve whereas you couldn't even get your arm in the sleeve of the jacket. Again, I had to return to have it corrected. The correction was done and it was now worse than ever. Needless to say, I lost a nice jacket. It's unfortunate as the owner is nice, hard working, and the prices were reasonable. However, the regular rate of returning to have something corrected, coupled with the last mishap by one of her workers, was the deciding factor in not returning to have any more work done. read more
