I pretty much hate shopping centres. But I love Princes Square. Not that I actually shop here though! Princes Square is also slap bang in the middle of Buchanan Street's Style Mile - as such it's full of designer shops like Ted Baker (oh, the ties!). There's also lots of places to eat and drink - Sugar Dumpling and October for great food and cocktails. But the thing I actually like about here, is the circular floor area in the centre - it's basically a kids playground, with the adults sitting around the sides. They also do kids activities, painting and reading here regularly. It all means that you're not tripping over the sproglets while you're wandering around.

Perfumed, blow-dried ladies are well catered for in this upmarket shopping centre. I sometimes wander about in here, gazing wistfully at the beautiful frippery available to those with only the deepest pockets. Sometimes given a wide berth, my bedraggled hair, fast walking pace and air of Primark don't fit well with the sweeping pashminas and upturned, surgically perfected noses of the patrons. Everything on sale in here is is beautiful and opulent - much like the surroundings. Even the escalators and lifts manage to seem graceful. Maybe next year, when I finish uni, I'll be able to shop in here. For now though, like a shoe-deprived orphan, I turn from the Kurt Geiger window and quietly leave.

Ah I am finally getting excited about Christmas (biiiiig fan but can't be mentioned too early or it loses its magic) and one of the places that feeds my Christmas spirit is without doubt Princes Square. With its tall, glowing Christmas tree and the angelic voices of children's choirs, Princes Square does Christmas with class. In fact, Princes Square does everything with class. From it's decor to it's elegantly presented shops, cafes and restaurants, this is a shopping mall on a different level. It oozes quality. Nice to wander round and soak up the atmosphere even if you are on a budget and picture perfect for window shopping.

Princes Square is without a doubt the classiest shopping centre in the whole of Glasgow. As well as being beautifully designed in its own right, it also boasts a whole host of gorgeous shops such as Kurt Geiger, Ollie & Nic, Arran Aromatics, Crabtree & Evelyn, Space NK and Links of London. As well as being a shopping centre, Princes Square is also home to a large array of restaurants and cafes all designed in the vein of Mediterranean piazzas. Sit down with a glass of wine anywhere in Princes Square, and you'll forget that you're in a shopping centre in Glasgow and will believe instead that you've been transported to somewhere far more exotic. There is nothing that I like better than to while away an hour or two in Princes Square. Whether I'm picking up a gift or two, lusting over clothes and shoes that I can't afford, or enjoying a lovely meal with friends - this place never lets me down.

Gorgeous little shopping place, an hybrid between a mall and department store with stunning architecture: the selection of shops it's a bit limited and towards high-end luxury, but there's a nice selection of restaurants and terrace. Admirable fancy atmosphere!

Princes Square is also one of the most unique dining environments in Scotland. I personally love this place. It is home to 8 of the city's top restaurants. http://www.princessquare.tv/

Pushy, obsessive girlfriends drag sweating, shifty-eyed boyfriends around here and coo in an innocent-but-underlyingly-persuasive manner at gigantic engagement rings. You can find everything in here, from traditional gold and antiques, to modern gems by contemporary designers. The walls and ceiling sparkle with the reflected light of a million facets - most people can only afford to browse. Wandering around here is an enjoyable way to spend half an hour. Deciding what you would buy if you found £10,000 or even £100,000 just lying in the street (Ha!). The Oak Mall is really small (hey I'm a poet and I didn't know it!) and has really rubbish versions of high street stores. For example the Oak Malls Topshop has to be the worst branch I have ever been in! It is so tiny and doesn't have any of the most fashion forward, cool lines. There are a few of those really tacky "tween" shops that I love to hate such as Quiz, Unique and Internacionale, if that's you kind of thing, if it is, why?? The Oak Mall does have one of the few Adams stores left in the UK which is maybe worth a visit if you have kids. Also the Bodycare, Semi Chem and Sally Hair and Beauty stores are good for picking up cheap but branded beauty products. I still wouldn't say it's worth the trip out to the mall just for a hand full of sort of ok stores.

Nowadays, there's more life in the deer i clipped with my car last night than in this place. Poundshops-a-plenty and near on 5/6 card shops (really?) as well the Oak Mall doesn't have much going for it. Empty shops and poor ones litter the once bustling West Blackhall St. For any Greenockian, this part of town lost its appeal as soon as it become closed over and refered to as "The Mall" - no character remains, sadly. I really hope the council pour some serious money into our local shopping centre by getting it back to basics

There's a few new eating places too - Giraffe, Zizzi and Carluccio's is opening later this year. Things that aren't so good about it: - It's a bit of a strange shape so it means you'll walk from one end to the other, and then remember something you need at M&S or Tesco, and have to walk all the way back again - The car park is a bit of a nightmare. I try to avoid visiting on the weekend as even then it's hard to park. At Christmas you'd be better off getting public transport if you're really desperate to shop here. - The toilets seem like they're really far apart I go here when I need to, but I rarely visit just for a wander around the shops anymore.
