I recently had an appointment, Friday, March 27th at 4:00. A few days prior to booking, I called to confirm whether your salon could accommodate a specific request. I explained that I have pink extension hair pieces attached to a hair tie and wanted to know if they could be braided into my hair for an upcoming event. I was told this would not be a problem and was instructed to book a braid service online and add an extension. I was also quoted a price of $48. When I arrived for my appointment, the stylist informed me that she had never worked with this type of extension before and that they typically only use clip-in extensions. While I truly appreciated her willingness to try and her kindness throughout the process, it was clear there had been a miscommunication with the call center. I would have preferred to be told ahead of time that this was not something the salon was familiar with, rather than proceeding with uncertainty during the appointment. Additionally, I was ultimately charged $65 for the service. At no point during the appointment was I informed that the price would differ from what I had originally been quoted. Being charged a higher amount without prior notice was frustrating, especially given the circumstances. Again, the stylists were very kind and did their best, and I appreciate their effort. However, the experience overall was not what I expected due to the miscommunication and lack of pricing transparency. My first visit my hair came out a-ok but to be honest it's not the best blowout I've had and I have tried several dry bars in the East valley. I returned in hopes it would be better bc I had another groupon and this time I had Cameron and she was much better for sure. I'd say they are a four stars for now because her technique was better. The only thing I found odd is she asked what type of round brush i'd prefer. I let her choose since she's the professional I believe she knows best. Overall, the second visit was better. Went here today to get my hair done for my anniversary, I was seen quickly and had a great wash and massage (extra 10 min massage I added to my package). It felt amazing!! My stylist was so nice and gave me healthy shiny hair with curls in it without any hot tools. I even bought an Oribe product for blowouts so I can try to keep my hair the same way at home (though it always looks better after a salon like this!). Overall a great experience and busy but fun atmosphere with music playing and talking, blow dryers going, etc. The shampoo part was in a more quiet and secluded area so that was relaxing. read more

I just started a membership with them last month. I was very satisfied the first time I went in. I had my hair done and full make up and I felt beautiful. Unfortunately, today, I had my hair washed blow, dried and curled with them and within an hour it was flat. I wasn't happy with the style even though I showed her a picture of what I wanted done with my hair. It's very disappointing when you sign up for a membership, and you don't get good results. I think a lot of people that they hire there or high school students that are getting their cosmetology license. Some of them are not well qualified. I have been a member of Primp & Blow since they opened their location in Gilbert and love it here! At the beginning I only requested a few girls and would make sure they were the only ones to do my blowout. So I called on Thursday to set up hair and make up for my Saturday maternity photoshoot and they were so nice! I had to call and change the time and they did it no hassle! Also the hair and make up came out so good! I have some pictures! My hair and make up lasted the whole time even though it was windy last night. Plus the ladies at the salon were super nice and sweet! I would go here again. I used to use dolce salon and spa but they closed down so I'm really glad that I found somewhere that can make me pretty for pictures and events! Plus the prices weren't bad at all and it was really quick. So if you are looking for special event hair and make up like a wedding, prom, photoshoot, whatever these are the girls for you! Kamryn is amazing. I (quite literally) had a hot mess on my head that took her 3 whole hours just to detangle - and Tiera helped for an hour or so too!!! She listened to what I needed and what I wanted and then delivered it, with infinite kindness and patience. I was her priority, and I knew that from the first minute of my appt to the last. I loved my experience (and Kamryn!) so much that I signed up for the monthly service and booked my next appt for a week later! I had called several other valley salons asking if I could pay (the amount didn't matter) to have someone spend hours detangling my hair.; but I kept getting turned away. My hair was so tangled and matted and it was painful and embarrassing. I prayed to God to help me decide whether or not to just shave it all off. Then I came upon Primp and Blow. I called and set an appt for an extension consultation for after I cut all of my hair off to get the matte out. I showed up and the ladies were kind, sympathetic, and said they would block off the open time to work on it right then. I walked out 3.5 hours later with tears of joy in my eyes, feeling like a brand new woman - a beautiful brand new woman. I haven't felt beautiful for so long that I can't remember when it was. Thank you, Kamryn, from the bottom of my heart. In a world where kindness has become a rarity, and only seems to be given with the expectation of something in return, Kamryn's attitude, hard work, and overall sweetness of character is an incredibly fresh breath of air. Brought my daughter in for a beachy wave look and my daughter loved her result. The stylist was nice and made an effort to get to know my daughter. Prices are reasonable and the place is clean, bright, and inviting. Then only reason for four stars is my daughter's hair lost some of her wave look after a few hours but this is a problem it seems we have anywhere we go.
