    My "thin" blended money piece

    Went in for a balayage without a money piece. Hairstylist suggested a thin money piece. The money piece ended up being extremely wide and harsh. Called to get it fixed and they "fixed" it. Their version of fixing it was just bringing the harsh line closer to my scalp. The stylist only dried the front pieces so I couldn't even see the money piece in comparison to the rest of my hair (it was significantly lighter). Tried to contact the salon via calls and texts but no response was given.

    Friendly service greeted with a smile! My mom loves this salon for its convenience close to her home. We are frequents for a cut, scalp treatment or a blow dry service. Highly recommend their service. The junior stylists does excellent work.

    Lacey did an amazing job on my hair! I needed a cut and color, and left with a huge confidence boost. I only scheduled a consultation, but luckily she had time after helping me figure out what I wanted to do my hair right then :) I am so in love with the cut, color, style, products, pampering...     I had Audrey cut my hair a few days ago. This might be partially my fault because I forgot to tell her that the last chick who cut my hair cut it unevenly but I also feel like part of her job is to make sure there isn't a 1/2 inch length difference on either side of my face. We'd discussed doing layers, which she said she'd do after she dried my hair. I wasn't really paying attention so I don't know if she actually tried adding layers or what, but if they're there I can't find them. Audrey was nice but outside of discussing what I wanted done she didn't really talk to me. That worked for me as I'm not a big fan of small talk, but I know a lot of people would find it offputting. I could have saved myself $25 and gotten a (probably better quality) haircut at Fantastic Sams. The salon itself was really nice and everyone was friendly. I liked that they included a short massage and style with the services. The shampoo chair was super comfortable.

    First time here, nice place their complimentary amenities are nice so that's why it's not a 1 Star but I am highly disappointed in my haircut. At first I thought it was going well my right side was looking good then the lady was doing my left side and I started noticing it was shorter than the right side. So I waited until she got done and said something about it. She agreed it was shorter and bang trying to make the right side to match. I was trying very hard to be polite and not make a scene. The receptionist asked how I liked it and I said She would not want to hear my honest opinion. Being that I was on the verge of tears I asked to pay so I could leave. I just got home and looked at my hair...it's still visibly shorter on the left Update: Spoke with a customer rep on Saturday saying the owner/manager would be calling since i was unhappy that i would have to wait until Oct 10th to get my hair fixed. I received a call from a director who is unorganized and had no times ready. They do not care that they are making their customer wait to have mistakes fixed and all they care about is money. They will fix my hair but won't refund the $45 and want me to wait to have my cut, even a week out is unacceptable. I do not have time to wait for my hair to be fixed. They offered a complimentary cut my next visit since they will not refund my money, I do not want it knowing how terrible their customer service is. Added additional pictures of my hair curly and straight. In response to Stacey: no she offered oct 3rd-5th saying that you would fix it but not offer a refund and only offer a complimentary cut on the next visit. I had my cut on Friday 9/27. Why should I have to wait that long to fix my hair? The customer rep before that on Saturday offered 10/10 at the earliest, all dates are unacceptable. I still have yet to receive a refund. When I told her the last 4 of my card yesterday she never responded back. It took me sending her another email asking her to send confirmation. That was less than an hour ago. I will continue to wait for my refund.

    I have really thick hair, which I was ready to cut shorter to cut down in the time it takes to do. I showed Amber a picture of a previous cut I had which was around collarbone length with some long layers and framing of the face. She seemed to understand what I was wanting but unfortunately, I left with one of the worst cuts I've ever gotten. The layers are so short, with the top layer being so heavy, I have no choice but to always wear it curled to try and blend in the top or pin back some of the top layer. Because she made the top layer so heavy, it left the bottom layers so thin, especially after she overly thinned it out. So incredibly frustrating because at this point, there isn't much I can do besides grow it out because I don't want to cut it even shorter.

    Bad roots

    I went to the salon to have my hair highlighted and my hair turned out ok. My three star rating is because of their Covid policy. I actual chose the salon because they had such a good policy in place. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because when I called I was told they would seat you in every other chair to socially distance you from the person next to you however I saw two sets of people sitting right next to each other. And the chairs are pretty close; I can touch the chair next to me when sitting in mine. I just felt a bit uncomfortable because it was different than what I was told on the phone. Update: about a week later I kept looking at my partial foil in different lights and realized I was not happy. I even had people ask me if I just went to get my roots done and couldn't believe it when I said yes. I left still having an inch of outgrowth. See the pic. The main reason for my post is because I wrote the manager on it, and I never heard back :-( So I guess I have to post another review here for them to see it. Please see my roots after my hair visit. I did mention it to the lady right away too, that it looks like I still have roots. She offered to do a base break which cost $40. I said let me leave and see if it gets better or maybe it was just the light. Anyways, needless to say I spent a bunch of money and now I'm going back to previous hair dresser to spend the money again!

    I went in last November to get my roots done by Natalie. She was so nice and we got along great. But unfortunately, she literally burnt off my hair. It has been 7 months and I still have a mullet because my hair is still trying to grow out. I will have to pay for this for another year or so and it's painful to look at and try to style. I wear hats a lot. And my hair is sooooo thin now, it makes me so sad. I haven't gotten a refund yet.... which is not fair at all. The owner was extremely nice but, I deserve a complete refund. I cried for months after.. and to this day I'm still very upset by it. Don't go in there if you want to be a pretty blonde.

    Ah, Emilio... He lived up to the reviews on Yelp. I looked for an Aveda salon near my new neighborhood, and found 20 Volume Salon & Spa. It's a beautiful salon on the NWC of Val Vista and Williams Field. Emilio must be good, because it was 2.5 weeks before I could get in to see him. I brought three magazines with pictures of colors and styles marked, ready to review with Emilio. It had been a while since I'd had a trim and color done. My color was a bit too dark for my complexion, and I also wanted new highlights. He brought my base hair color up a notch or two, closer to my real hair color, and did the best possible with highlights, given that my hair had been so dark before. He also evened out my many layers so that they flow well together for curl and volume. I've received compliments already, and it's been less than a week! I LOVED the eucalyptus oil he used for a neck and shoulder massage, and bought some for home (goodness knows I need it for the stress of work!). I'd also never heard of the great volume tonic he used on my hair, and I use Aveda products almost exclusively. He showed me the products he used, and I bought the couple I didn't already have at home.

    I felt it was important to update my review after this experience because it was unlike any massage…read moreI have ever had. I have been to this spa many times before and have always had wonderful experiences with Vanessa. Unfortunately, she wasn't available this time, so I was scheduled with a different therapist. I have never had an issue here until this appointment. I booked this massage because I wanted to relax and get relief from tension in my shoulders, neck, and head. I never requested a deep tissue massage. Instead, the therapist simply started doing one without ever asking if that was what I wanted. Within minutes, I was wincing in pain and told her multiple times that it was too much. I also explained that I get migraines and prefer a gentler, more relaxing massage that focuses on my problem areas. Rather than listening to what I was asking for, she continued with an aggressive deep tissue massage over my entire body. She never once touched my neck or head as I requested, she focused entirely on my arms and shoulder blades. Instead of adjusting her technique, she told me I had so much tension that I needed to schedule at least 2 or 3 two-hour deep tissue massage. By the end of the session, she even instructed me to ice my body afterward because of how intense the massage had been. That alone should have been a sign that this was far beyond what I had booked or wanted. I came in hoping to leave relaxed, not feeling like I needed to recover from my massage. She also talked throughout nearly the entire appointment, which made it impossible to unwind. The combination of the constant conversation and the painful massage meant I never had a chance to actually relax. She also saw me wincing and said that, "sometimes, you have to do the work." I left sore for days afterward, and the massage ultimately triggered one of my migraines. A massage should be tailored to the client's comfort level and goals, especially after they communicate what they want and say they are in pain. Unfortunately, my requests were ignored from beginning to end. I'm incredibly disappointed because I've always had positive experiences here before. However, after this experience, I will never book with this therapist again.
