I used to live in the area and still visit my friends from time to time. They mentioned this new sandwich place opened up and that it was good. I took advantage of coming here with my friend during lunch time during the week so we could beat any lunch rush. When we arrived we were the only customers and I took my time looking over the menu. My friend knew what he wanted and we ended up getting the same thing, La prima sandwich. The lady who helped us was really nice and she made our sandwiches and also helped to ring us up. The time to make the sandwich was expected as their sandwiches are more curated than any other fast sandwich shops. While we were waiting I checked out the fridge and decided to get a Mac salad and Coke zero! They get extra points for having Coke zero, no Pepsi for me! At the checkout counter they also had homemade cookies from a local baker so I wanted to support them as well. The cookie was good! Overall their sandwiches are great! They have a good selection of sandwiches to choose from. They also have an assortment of chips, drinks, and salads to choose from. I don't think the Mac salad was made in house but it got the job done. I recommend their business! read more

They just opened two and a half months ago and I just thought that since there isn't a lot of deli spots around SJ, Primo's sounds good for lunch! I ended up ordering there Reuben sandwich with their Dutch Roll! I never knew pastrami tasted really great with 1000 Island sauce! I found this place right after a long day's work. I didn't want any fast fattening food so I looked up "deli near me" and to my surprise, it was almost a 20-minute commute from my location. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I browsed their menu and shortly after decided on the Primo hot sandwich. The chicken, bacon, avocado, and all of the side combinations with their melted cheese were worth fasting for lunch and choosing to eat here for dinner. It was a hearty sandwich but I wanted more. As soon as I walked in I knew my sandwich was going to be good. It smells sooooo delicious in there! My husband got the la toxica and I ordered the la prima. Both were jam packed with flavor. They are not shy on their sauces so eat them as soon as possible if you don't want them to get soggy. My husband did mention that some parts of the chicken on his la toxica were a little rubbery, but the bite that I had was fine, I almost made him trade me ;) I will definitely be back to try more sandwiches. read more

I had #10 - El Cuhh. I have no idea what it means but all I know is, it met my savory needs. It was a good turkey, avocado, bacon, mustard, vinegary, low-spiced, melt in your mouth type of deal. I loved it and will be coming back. Also, the owners seem great, and I love that they're in driving distance. I stumbled across this place with my wife and daughter a month ago and let me tell you, Primos Deli has to be one of the best Delis in San Jose. The ingredients are all fresh and the menu is delicious. I can't believe I havnt come across this place sooner. Do yourself a huuuuuge favor and come in and order yourself something for their amazing menu. Keep in mind they are closed on Sundays and Mondays but it's well worth the wait. Put in an order for takeout through yelp. Order was accepted and said ready for pickup. I live a block away and got there just a few minutes after it was ready, and they were closed. It was just after 2pm. Tried calling and it wouldn't even ring. I guess they went to lunch because the sign said they would be back at 3. I understand they need to take their lunch but if that's the case don't accept and make my order. I'm not going to walk back home and let it sit for an hour. I've been here once before and it was good. Now I don't think I'll be back. I can't rely on them. It's a shame because I was happy to have a local sandwich shop. Finally, I made it into Primo's to get a shrimp cocktail . It was huge, and he did not skimp on anything. Thanks for taking the time to make one since they had run out. This was my second visit. Can't remember the first sandwich I had,but that one was good. Today with the cocktail, we had the #6 turkey,ham and Jack and the tuna sandwich. All fresh ingredients and fresh bread. This family has heart and this shop was definitely needed in our area. Things to know: They have a bit of construction going on to make their spot better, but it is not impeding on their service/quality. It is a small spot with just a few eat-in tables. It is a bit stuffy, so if that bothers you, it's better to take it to go. Maybe an in wall unit would help cool down the place. I'm probably aging myself,but while waiting for my food, the temperature outside made me reminisce about Jumps the restaurant that was in this same parking lot years ago.
