Having decided to redesign my six room condo, I chose Primetime Paint & Paper for their extensive selection and helpful, friendly employees. One lady was particularly helpful in completing the first two rooms. She was an enthusiastic collaborator, even asking for photos of the work so far. To complete the other four rooms, it took several tries to find times good for both of us. I didn't want to miss out on her exquisite taste in helping me choose from so many fine products. At least twice I spoke with the manager to confirm available time with her, and adjusted my visit to the time he confirmed she would be available. I arrived, and the manager informed me she wasn't yet free, so I agreed to wait. After fifteen minutes she came to me and apologized for the delay. We resumed the immediate phase of the order, which would have completed the third room. We came to some decisions and completed much of the order when the manager interrupted. He wanted her at the cash register immediately, and announced loudly that she had been with 'this gentleman' for an hour. I informed him I had only been in the store for twenty-five minutes. He responded nastily, 'You're not the only customer here, sir!" She started to tally my sales so far, during which he got even angrier, telling her she had spent enough time with 'this gentleman' and wanted her at the other cash station at once. I was completely stunned. She quietly apologized and explained this was not unusual. I paid for the order and she walked away even though we had been unable to complete it. I stood there in total shock. We had yet to finish even the current order, much less choose any of the remaining products. I had waited so long to resume the project that I felt frankly assaulted by such bizarre behaviour I had never experienced before. Now ignored, I didn't know what to do. I then protested to him that I was still in the middle of a big order. He smiled innocently and said, "Why do you sound so angry, sir?" I was speechless; finally, I asked him why he wanted to lose such a large order. With an insincere smile, he asked "Why are you so angry, sir?" That's when I noticed the three people in line cringing. I picked up the two gallons of paint I had bought so far and started to leave when he said softly, "See you soon, sir." I turned, and said, "I don't think so." As I left, another employee looked at me apologetically. The result of this experience was that it disrupted the completion plans because I had no idea where else I could go to find help even half as good on such an expensive project. read more

Moving requires two things- good movers (El Cheapo!) and good painting tools. I discovered Primetime Paint & Paper while browsing my new St. Lawrence neighborhood, and was incredibly impressed and inspired. The staff know their colors, and have a good eye- and best of all, the store houses some of the prettiest wallpaper and the full Benjamin Moore collection. I've painted my bathroom and bedroom, and today I even ordered some eco-friendly wallpaper. You can believe I'll be back soon once I attack my kitchen and living room... Moving made easy. read more

Amazing service. Fantastic array of various wallpapers, at all sorts of price points. Staff will quiz you about your needs so you don't waste your time falling in live with some super cool graphic print that won't work with your space, or, in my case, that I simply cannot afford. (I was gently reminded to check the price list at the back of this insane wallpaper I was crushing over. The romance ended quickly when I saw that it was $300 a roll. However, good to know.) Also, they have a good selection of paint at reasonable price points. Along with more advice from the staff, needy, lost, little me went home and decoratedy bathroom in a dashing damask print, with painted accent walls, like an adult. Almost. Went to 2 other BM stores before I decided to google the best Benjamin Moore store and this one popped up. Honestly, best location for wallpaper selection AND especially for customer service. Went to this location twice and each time, the ladies took time and effort to help me find what I wanted and even planned my entire colour scheme for my place. Look for Fern and Mary! Outstanding customer service. Coming down the home stretch in our home renovation. It is down to colour choices now. As I navigated through the million colour choices I narrowed it down to twelve tester pots. Four days later I left the store with all the paint needed to paint our house. The entire Primetime team looked after me well and patiently answered my endless line of questions. We checked and double checked that I had everything I needed. Each paint can labeled clearly by paint name and number but also designated room. Thank you to Peter and Primetime for making a stressful moment, seamless and efficient. Now lets hope that I made the right colour choice. If not, I know where to go to get more. read more

Grabbed a few cans of the BM Ultra Spec here, fantastic paint. Massive selection of paint supplies and products. Staff are nice and seem a lot more knowledgeable compared to the staff I spoke with at other much larger home improvement stores. read more

I had the pleasure of dealing with Fern when I starting shopping for wallpaper and I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. The selection is the largest I've seen and she was extremely helpful in guiding me through the process. She ordered samples for me which arrived within days and actually sent some directly to my home as I live outside the downtown core. The entire store staff was extremely friendly I would highly recommend Primtime Paint and Paper to anyone looking for wallpaper. Thank you again Fern & Staff !!! read more

I just signed up on this site specifically to write a review about this place. The customer service i got from , who i think is the owner or manager (tall skinny guy with glasses), was nothing short from disgusting and i will never ever return there. I purchased a gallon of paint and unfortunately i chose the wrong colour (obviously my fault). I went back to ask if there was anything i could do to change the colour slightly - i never asked if this could be done for free, or if i could return the paint. The manager (or owner, I'm not sure), immediately assumed that I was trying to return the gallon of paint and started raising his voice with major attitude saying what colour looks like outside of his store is none of his concern and that he doesn't care (again this is not what i asked him..). This was in front of my parents who were visiting from out of town and were equally shocked by the attitude and his response. After speaking to us he did the same thing to 2 guys who had questions about colour, slamming gallons of paint on the counter - the other customers looked equally taken back. The employees of the store looked intimidated by him and embarassed. Customer service is everything - there are hundreds of other paint shops in Toronto that I could go to and I will do just that going forward. Avoid this place if customer service is important to you. read more
