Staff is always nice and prompt and they have been able to see me on short notice, making room in their schedule when they can. I have had many billing issues but it was NEVER their fault, it was all with my insurance which I have investigated and found to be fact. It had to do with replacing early crowns done by another dentist some 9 years ago and my insurance has some clause that a crown must be 10 years old before they cover the replacement, even though my crowns had to be replaced as they were failing. Dr. Schelin helped me to argue the reason for the crown replacements with insurance but the fine print is the fine print. I do not hold any responsibility against Custer Star for those issues. They were excellent help. Dr. Schelin and Kristy Pecina are great as is the front office staff. I do not have any experience with the other dentists or orthodontists in the office so I cannot comment on them. I can't speak to the other reviews on here where people have had negative experiences other than to say I have had crowns, a root canal, fillings, and my bi-annual cleanings with no regrets. It is always a pleasure working with their team.

So it wasn't fraudulent 6 months ago? That math isn't mathing to me. They either 1) gave my insurance company and me a false report 6 months ago, or 2) my healthy mouth somehow became seriously diseased in 6 months even though they raved that my home care is "so great," or 3) someone had no clue what they were doing 6 months ago, or 4) someone's looking to bump my bill today. My wife proceeded to ask her why she was not informed of that before her appointment with the receptionist answer was that Aetna does offer out of network services and and that my wife should be fine. The activities they completed were exactly the same as I've received from other dentists that were considered a cleaning. I asked when paying why it wasn't considered a cleaning and was told all things go forward would always be considered periodontic maintenance and nothing ever from that point would be considered a cleaning as I had a deep clean in the past. I told them I didn't agree with that and they asked if I wanted to speak to someone higher up in the office, the receptionist was very calm about this which tipped me off that this happens all the time. Luckily, she called me before signing. I told her they're scamming her. She left saying she'll think about it. She requested her file (x-rays, etc.) under HIPAA several times by email - never got them. She then went to another dentist. They did a full exam as well, including x-rays and guess what - no cavities, no gum disease and wisdom teeth are perfectly fine to remain. Wonder how those cavities and gum disease suddenly disappeared. This office needs to get their license to practice revoked!
