Terrible. The worst! I've moved several times in the past decade and while it's always stressful -- this company was the worst! They stole several items and then claimed they were never included in the inventory, after I personally had them wrap and notate the items. Long story short -- they are crooks. Promised me it would take 2-3 weeks. When they took my stuff, they said it will would take 4-6 weeks. It took 6 weeks and 4 days. The movers put big scratches in my floor. And 2 boxes were gone. If I had to do it over again, I'd pick another company. In the beginning the service was good and working out the details were easy. We were moving a minimal amount of goods from Hilo, Hi to the Mainland. I packed the items in boxes myself, gave a breakdown with pictures of the items being shipped. Next thing, I received a new "higher" quote for my items even though I was way below the first quota. I called and was given back my old agreed upon amount. After that service went down hill. Due to the high value of my item that I needed to ship, my initial start was to begin to find the most reputable business that could provide the most honest and secure service possible. I say this due to the most negative experience that a relative had gone through with their shipment from Oregon to Hawaii and I didn't want to have to live out this very same scenario as what they had gone through. After a lengthy and thorough search of trying to locate a reputable firm to secure my business, I finally came upon "Prime Moving Company" and spoke with Mr. Edward Jacobs. Upon my initial contact with Mr. Jacobs he actually provided me not only the best rate, but also the best routing and time frame that it was going to take to ship my item. Upon securing my contract with Mr. Jacobs, we were able to come to an agreement and immediately began the process which included the arrangement of securing a local mover in Hawaii, take the shipment to the docks there, have it place in a container, shipped to the L.A. port, and met there with an 18 wheeler for the final journey to Florida. I can honestly say that my experience working with Mr. Jacobs and "Prime Moving" was exceptional at most. If I could offer 0 stars I would. I had original & detailed conversations with Shan. He described several months of free storage, the size of the container, the amount of charge and he guaranteed the collection date. We were leaving the country and needed our items collected prior. I was meticulous in delineating what items were to be shipped. The movers showed up late. I walked them through the house and explained what was to be shipped, and the movers TOLD ME WHAT THEY COULD TAKE. I was effectively told, we will take what we can, but anything else we will leave. In the end, they completely mucked up. They took table tops, but left the base. They left our DINIG TABLE! We had to call them because they forgot our bikes -- then they charged us an additional $500 to add them to the shipment. Prime Moving says they don't charge by weight, but by space. Two bikes -- one road bike and a child's bike do not take up that much space. When I called Shan and explained that an entire room was left behind, he told me that an additional order of $3,300 minimum would need to be started. I haven't even received my original delivery yet. I Asked him to reduce the current fee so I could justify another, and he refused. Ultimately, this company is a scammer. Prime Moving delivered all of our stuff from Hawaii last night. I have never been so disappointed and angry about anything in my life! We spent thousands of dollars to move our things from Oahu to Arkansas, and over half of our boxes are broken, dented, busted open, and some of them even have the tape ripped off! My husband's paintings have rips in them, they broke and warped his guitar, some of my clothes (that were in vacuum sealed bags ) are hanging out of ripped and split open boxes, and that's only what I've seen in the first hour of daylight. Our boxes were supposed to be crated in wood and plastic wrapped to a pallet... this looks like they just threw them individually on a boat, left them to roll around, and wished them the best of luck! We had a great experience with Prime Moving! They were professional, quick, and kept us up to date with our belongings. We moved from Hawaii to the mainland, and at first, I was hesitant to use them because of the reviews and photos. We packed all of our stuff ourselves, and my way of thinking is this: "If we're paying people to move OUR things, the least we can do is make it as easy as possible for everyone." I labeled each box with the weight and where it should go (top, bottom, or middle) when storing our items, and because of this, our boxes were in decent condition when we got them. When they came to pick up our stuff, it only took them one hour to load everything into the truck. In that hour, besides loading our stuff, they wrapped up our bed frames in blankets with tape so they wouldn't get scratches, created 3 boxes. One for our 65-inch TV, one for my paintings, and one for my vacuum sealed bags. They put a label with a number and a bar scanner on each of our items so they can track how many items and we could track our stuff. The guy who was doing paperwork with us, on the day they picked up our stuff, even told us that when moving from Hawaii to the mainland or vice versa, they recommend using plastic containers because cardboard boxes will have some kind of damage due to being on a ship that moves constantly because they're on the ocean. To me, this makes sense. I've attached pictures so you can see that we had little to no damage to our boxes. When we got to the mainland, we were still receiving weekly updates on our belongings, and once they arrived, we were able to schedule a drop-off within a few days. The day our items were dropped off, it took the guys about an hour to unload everything. We didn't go over our square footage, and we didn't go over our free 30 days of storage, so there were NO EXTRA FEES! Remember, the truck they bring to pick up your stuff is bigger than your cubic square feet in case YOU choose to go over your footage. 150 cubic square feet came out to 31 items, which included 8 large boxes and 10 medium boxes from home depot, plus our bed frames, the TV, a cooler, a small plastic filling box, and the 3 boxes they created for us. If you're going to use cardboard boxes, I recommend using NEW boxes and SCOTCH BOX LOCK packing tape. DO NOT use Walmarts great value packing tape because that unsticks within a few days or even a few hours. read more

Moved back to Hawaii in December from California. I've moved to and from the mainland to Hawaii twice now and this move was by far the worst of them. I used City moving in my first moves and they did an amazing job. Prime Moving had called me and claimed to be a "sister" company to City and that they shared customers, this was a lie. Shan, the sales rep essentially swooped in and stole me as a customer from City who I initially started working this last move back to Hawaii. City Moving is the worst moving company. Communication is non-existent unless you call them regularly. The unpacking process has no means to check if your goods are all here. The shipping process was delayed for no reason. The only decent job was the pack-out process. I made it easy on my movers by breaking down items, pre-packing my own boxes, and staging them on the first floor by the door. James was my point of contact for the move and I could never ever get a hold of him on the first call. The people I would talk to would say they would let him know I called and then a week would go by with nothing until I called again. The company conveniently lost two TVs in transit, James informed me he would call dispatch and have them reach out to me, and to this day, still no call. Multiple boxes were damaged, items were broken, and my large furniture was half-ass built by the delivery team. It took James, 2 weeks to send me a claims form to start the process to get reimbursed for my damaged goods. This company sucks, they should not get any more business and do not use them. Items in each Box in no way belonged together they were rooms aparthey were rooms apart in functionality and physical location so when I'm packing many of which were broken items I'm never allowed us to to find a chord that belong to ATV or remote that belong to a device. Their overall estimate in price was way overestimated and it was even admitted to me that was the case verbally on the phone wish I had proof of that. Worst experience moving ever. Horrible company. I should have done better research before hiring them. At first, the move was going to cost me roughly $3k, then when they showup they they markup a bunch of stuff like the dresser being taller than the Length x Width I provided and the "Shuttle Fee", which they charged me $500 to rent a Uhaul truck to get closer to my apartment building. All in all, the price doubled to almost $6k...Then once they took my stuff, I couldn't get a hold of anyone after calling back the customer service number for a month. I tried to relay to them that I had moved into my new place and that I am ready for my things to be delivered to my new address and there was no response to emails or phone calls. I slept on the floor for a month... Then the texted me suddenly "We can show-up tomorrow, please confirm" This contracted company with a different company logo on the side of the truck and 'Move Happy' shirts on the movers showed up and put my bed frame together wrong, was missing a middle support beam so my bed sunk in the middle and almost broke the slats, didn't help setup my TV stand and left my TV for me to assemble together. Come to find out when I had to disassemble my bed and reassemble, I went over to my 55" TV that was wrapped in a moving blanket and it was totally shattered and destroyed... I then reached out to claims department and they said "We will offer you $42 for your 55" TV we broke, per our D.OT. valuation option of 60 cents per pound per article"... I paid $640 for that TV and that is the price right now if you were to buy it new on Amazon. After weeks of negotiating back and forth, the highest they were able to refund me was $250. So in turn, I don't have a TV now, and I lost about $400. Horrible moving company, I would not recommend to anyone at all. read more

Paid this company over $6k to move my home and it all looked good when they picked up everything. BAD part was when I received my furniture back. All 3 85" wide screen TVs where all cracked screens, 1 dinning room chair broke and a stool was lost. The worst part is that there own employees said it always happens. All my furniture was brand new. But now it's all damaged. They said they couldn't open a claim until my small balance was paid but there employees advised me not to because they will not do anything after receiving full payment. After many phone calls I never paid the balance and they never called me back to resolve the loss/damages they caused. It cost me more to replace the damages than what they charged. My usual rule of thumb is if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Because of that I try to only give good reviews and just not say anything if a company isn't that great. However, this has been one of the most stressful moving experiences I've ever had and if someone else is spared this stress I feel I owe it to them. I moved from Oahu to the mainland and decided that this time I would hire a company to make it easier (I had previously packed, shipped, picked up, etc everything myself when I first moved to Oahu for about $3000). I called to get a quote from Shan and was told they charge per square foot rather than per pound. Perfect! I was told over the phone (never actually received a quote in writing. Biggest mistake! This has actually been a recurring problem, they are terrible at actually sending emails with real information) that for 3 tool boxes, 1 motorcycle and 1 moped it would be around $3800. Our one bedroom apartment would raise that to $6000-$8000 total and it would take 5-6 weeks. I decided not to bring any furniture to bring down the cost. Imagine my surprise when they picked it all up and then told me it would be the highest end, $8000. That was within the quote so I went ahead with it. They had also offered to make a reservation to ship my car through Matson. I arrive at the place with my car (this is the same day I was flying out and after they had picked up my things) and no reservation had been made. Eventually, because of how long they took to talk to someone and figure it out, I just took care of everything myself. Since then it has been one mistake after another. I can't even begin to list everything because this review is already so long. I'll just give some examples. 1. despite giving the drop off address multiple times still was told they didn't have it and had to repeat it a few more times. At this point I hope they have it right but am not counting on it. 2. I have now been told, after they picked it up, that the paperwork actually says 45 business days, not 5-6 weeks. 3. Complete lack of follow up and when I speak to someone they don't have any idea what anyone else has said. 4. There's more but I'm too angry to keep going. My main contact now is someone named David who isn't terrible but isn't very helpful or terribly competent either. I've been promised emails from him a few times now but haven't seen them. I'm now being told our stuff won't arrive till the end of February. More than two months after pick up. The aforementioned tool boxes are my husbands livelihood so every day they delay is literally more money out of our pocket. The cherry on this s*** sundae is that if I decide to fly to California to pick up our stuff myself, I will still be expected to pay the remaining $2000 balance as well as an additional fee. Long story short this company failed to properly communicate with our employer which caused a horrific 5 month delay to get our things. To make matters worse one of our noted items a floor jack went missing magically from the truck. The driver certainly loaded the item because we got half of the item (lever bar) and not the actual jack. The communication from Prime movers is absolutely dismal. And they do not take any accountability for any wrong doing or mistakes. So it seems now this $400 item is conveniently stolen from their own delivery team. This was a mixed story, but overall am pleased with our "full service" packing, shipment and unpacking story from San Diego to Kailua. 1) Sign-Up (4 stars) Very helpful and responsive. Good price and availability. 2) Packing (5 stars) Excellent service. On time and the packing company was excellent. 3) Scheduling Drop-Off (1 Star) I reached out several times after 3 weeks to find status. No one responded. I then get a call telling me when it will be delivered. I told her the date would not work out. She said fine but would cost us $150/day extra for the delay. We were told we would have 10 Day free storage. When I explained this it was confusing and legalistic (look at fine print despite what we told you) ... so I decided to pay and deal with it later. They decided not to charge (thank you), but the process and expectations was poor. 4) Un-Packing (4 stars) The movers were excellent. Nothing was broken except one glass, which is great. Incompetent lying thieves. Read the reviews and you can see a pattern here and surprised they haven't gotten sued. I hired prime to do a full service move and ship two vehicles. Worked with Shan and he gave me an original quote of $18k, packers charged me $28k. I had to have them pull stuff off the truck because they put fragile and extremely expensive items on the bottom and piled couched and dressers on top with the boxes visibly getting crushed. They would double and triple the cuft calculations and even charged extra for heavy items despite a no weight limit policy. To Daniel's credit he offered to have the shipment recalculated in LA but still waiting to hear The result after 1.5 weeks in port. They gave me the quotes for our vehicles to ship from HI to CO but failed to reserve the spots with Matson and my wife got stuck for 3 hours trying to get it sorted. They then failed to arrange to have the vehicles shipped from LA to Denver. Ronnie is the guy who handles that and he started yelling at me, tried to bully me into getting a reservation with him after the fact Ultimately I had to arrange my own transport company to pick my vehicles up. So yeah. They grab your money, dump you off onto other contractors with a bunch of empty promises, and by the time you figure it out you are screwed. read more

The contract is written with numerous ways to up charge you...a lot! The first thing they ask for is your credit card number. I would not give them any information especially your credit card number because they will place an unauthorized charge on your card. Next they try to avoid your phone calls. Leo is extremely unprofessional/rude and does not follow through. I moved off island and used this company for my household and vehicle. They booked the vehicle through matson then said that they aren't responsible for letting you know when it has arrived and is ready for pickup. Luckily my husband thought to put an AirTag in our truck so we knew when it was in the docks. We had to call to confirm that the truck was available to pickup from the port but had to pay storage fees. The staff at matson was amazing and confirmed that they have had multiple complaints about this company!! The biggest complaint I have is they left our household items in their storage in Kihei for weeks before they sent any communication. It's been over a month since they picked up our items to be sent to us. If you are moving and thinking about using this company don't!!! You will just end up paying the same amount to them that you could've paid for a better company!! LEO & FRANK both failed to inform us that this was a consolidated move- meaning your belongings will not ship until the container is completely full. They are an absolute scam and put us through hell when we moved from Southern CA to Hawaii. They advised our belongings would arrive in Hawaii the 1st of March. Our Move was picked up early Feb and our belongings sat at Long Beach for over a month till the 5th of March. At one point we attempted to pick up our belongings from Long Beach once we did some research and read the negative reviews, however, they would not let us pick up our belongings holding them hostage. I receive a call last week from a gentleman saying his name is Jose & he has my missing box from my delivery of 10 mos. ago. He's on is way to California & wanted to drop it off in Miami. I gave him a address of a friend to deliver it to, which was done the next day. I arrived to get my box to discover it had been opened & was missing my husband's valuable exotic protected brown coral jewelry collection. I called to file a claim & was told they would only pay $.60/per lb., which didn't even cover the phone call. Warning! Don't mark boxes valuable or you'll be ripped off. SCAM!! They charge for "holding and storage fees" for deliveries that arrive earlier than they quoted. I was told to expect delivery the 14-15th. The shipment came the 10th, so I was charged while they held the items in their storage. FRAUD BUSINESS!! read more

If I could rate this company 0 stars I would! Like the other review stated, they were so prompt on getting us booked but as soon as the deposit was paid it changed. They ended up quoting us $1000 less of what they charged us! We paid over $3000 to move from Oahu to California! They told us our shipment would be here in a month 8/15 (we shipped 7/14) and it was a month and 3 weeks and we still haven't heard anything. We tried calling their office, no one answers. The driver calls us one day (on a Friday) saying he's going to deliver our stuff on Sunday and then calls back on Saturday saying that he can't drop it off because it inconvenienced another customer. We are paying customers too that have been without our stuff for nearly 2 months. The driver stated that there should've been no reason our items couldn't be delivered on time since it has been sitting at the port in LA for a month. When our items arrived, all of our things were tumbled down all over the truck. Customer service is terrible, all they care about is the money, they're rude.
