The locksmith that they sent me tried to scam me. He quoted $750 to replace a handle and door mechanism (that he said was broken). I was desperate at the time so I said ok. But then I thought about the price as he left to get parts and decided against using their service. I called their dispatch immediately and told them to cancel. They insisted that I talk to the repairman when he returned with the parts. When he returned I told him I was no longer interested in their service. He argued with me trying to get met to pay for the parts that he just got. Then he tried to get me to pay 30%. After 20 minutes of heated exchanges he finally left. My landlord sent over her locksmith today. Turns out the mechanism was fine and I just needed a new handle ($40). It took the new locksmith 15 minutes to fix my door. What was supposed to be help with a simple lockout turned into having to rekey my entire house after I discovered that a crazy person had broken in and changed all my locks! Got locked out of my house. They were here fast, but they charged an exorbitant rate, and I believe they used an ostensible "language barrier" (his English was great) to trick me into that rate. He quoted me $145 for labor plus $85 for the cost of the lock itself if I decided to change the lock, which I opted against. After let me in, he said the price was $276. When I asked for a breakdown, he said it was $145 for labor, plus $85 for the service call (not the lock itself as originally stated), plus an additional fee for "not doing damage" that wasn't previously mentioned at all. It all felt very sketchy and predatory. If you look through the reviews, you'll find other people mentioning similar experiences. These guys make a pattern of giving you a low quote, then hitting you with an absurd bill when the work is complete. I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more
